NYC MAYOR'S FUND PARTNERSHIP

For the sixth She Breaks Barriers community project, we worked with the Mayor’s Fund in New York to identify a youth sports program that was created with intention to break barriers to sport for girls. They helped identify an opportunity to partner with the Department of Education and Public Schools Athletic League in which we would provide seed funding to revamp an existing league, increasing the number of girls’ basketball teams across New York middle schools in all five boroughs. To kick off this partnership, we are hosting a girl basketball camp in NYC the day after International Day of the Girl, introducing the young girls to basic basketball skills and inspiring them to participate in basketball that coming Spring.
