ADIDAS ATHLETE: KAIQUE CERVENY

Meet our adidas athlete Kaique Cerveny and learn how he fell in love with cross training and stays motivated to compete.

Date of Birth: August 16, 1997

Hometown: São Paulo, Brazil

Nationality: Brazilian

Sport: Cross Training

Height: 6’1”

Sometimes, finding love for a sport can be totally unexpected. Get to know adidas athlete Kaique Cerveny, from how he discovered a knack for cross training to how he stays inspired to overcome challenges to reach his goals.

adidas: How old were you when you started your sport? What or who inspired you to begin your sport?

Cerveny: I was 17 years old. I did some trial classes, and some people said that I had knack for it. This and the desire to be someone different than others inspired me to be an athlete.

adidas: What’s an early memory of your sport that made you want to pursue it professionally?

Cerveny: It was the first time I saw myself doing something I loved, and that I saw myself doing it every day of my life. I love challenges and seeing myself overcome each one of them daily is what motivates me.

adidas: Who has been your biggest cheerleader throughout your time with the sport? How have they supported you?

Cerveny: My family!! They were always with me in competitions, injuries, and the best moments.

adidas: How do you amp yourself up before you compete?

Cerveny: I guarantee that I had fun in every workout I did during the season. It keeps me light, and when I'm like that... no one can beat me.

adidas: What is a career accomplishment (or a few) you are most proud of?

Cerveny: The first time I won the semifinal that classified me for the [cross training] Games.

adidas: When did you sign with adidas? What does it mean to you to be partnered with adidas?

Cerveny: In June 2024... I never imagined that could be possible. Being part of adidas is like, "You are in one of the biggest brands... you got it, man."

adidas: What does mental strength mean to you in your sport? How do you stay disciplined, focused, and overall content through the ups and downs of sports?

Cerveny: It means everything. My body can be 100%, but if I'm not mentally well, I won't have a good season. Discipline and focus must come from what I set out to do to achieve my goal... to be the best. What keeps me striving for my best is always being surrounded by the people I love, because we need people; we can't achieve anything alone.

adidas: Any final thoughts to leave us with?

Cerveny: I never planned to be an athlete. I wake up every single day to be not just a better athlete, but a better person. I know everything I do will pay off one day. And I will never stop, because when I reach something, I seek something even greater.
