For nearly a decade, superstar sprinter Noah Lyles has inspired generations of young athletes with his dedication to the craft and perseverance in the face of adversity — setting historic records and winning multiple world titles. An advocate of mental health awareness, Lyles has also championed openness and honesty in the ongoing conversation around mental health in sports — reflecting his own battles with asthma, allergies, dyslexia, ADD, anxiety, and depression to become track and field’s newest icon.

Born in Gainesville, Florida, Lyles and his siblings moved to Alexandria, Virginia in their childhood. He began his athletic pursuits as a gymnast before switching to track and field at the age of 12 — and set multiple high school records before turning pro in 2016 with his brother Josephus, who is also a track and field star. Both brothers joined the Brand with the 3-Stripes that same year; in Noah Lyles, adidas found a shared dedication to greatness and overcoming the odds.

Lyles is close with his family and credits his mother as an invaluable source of support, as she put her career on hold to help the brothers achieve their track and field dreams — telling adidas during a 2021 interview that “if I didn't have my mom, I wouldn't be here today.” Along with his brother, he founded the Lyles Brothers Sports Foundation, empowering youth by promoting mental health awareness and donating sports equipment to young athletes in need.

Like Noah Lyles, adidas is constantly seeking to elevate track and field and its athletes — and Lyles is the icon the sport needs for today’s day and age, as well as for the next generation of athletes to come. As he told adidas in 2021: "At the end of the day, shoot for the stars, don’t put limits on yourself based off of what other people think is possible. Go with what you think is possible. There’s no problem with trying to obtain something that has never been done before, because that’s how records get broken."
