Tuğçe Karakaya is a former national triathlete and now an elite trail runner. She has held many titles in triathlons, the Turkish championships, as a fast runner who has shifted to running trails. She constantly competes in the best-performing trail runs over shorter distances. Her successful podium placements include Triathlon Turkey Championships, Triathlon Balkan Championship Balkan 3rd place, Wings For Life World Run Turkey 1st, Ironman Turkey 70.3 age group 3rd, Mozart Ultra Trail BY UTMB 39 K Women’s 4th, Eiger by UTMB 35 K Women’s 2nd, Cappadocia Ultra Trail 38 K Women’s 2nd.
She says she is most proud of taking a five-year break from sports as a result of the municipal bus crash during cycling training, and subsequently returning to sports.
