Ruth Croft is a “Kiwi”, hailing from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. She began her trail running career while living in Taiwan, winning UTMB Mont Blanc/CCC in 2015. She then focused on sub ultra distances, winning Marathon du Mont Blanc twice, the Golden Trail Series overall in 2018, and UTMB Mont Blanc/OCC in 2018 and 2019. Ruth turned her focus to ultramarathons in 2021, coming runner up in Western States Endurance Run, and returned the following year to win.
Her most recent accomplishments in 2024 include winning Transvulcania in course record time, and 2nd in her debut at UTMB Mont Blanx/UTMB 170km.
While competing full time she is also studying to become a naturopath and herbalist.
