What Is Manifesting?
Manifestation is the act of bringing a desire or idea of yours into existence. Everywhere you look people are manifesting new careers, new homes, new lifestyles, and new love. But how can something you can’t see create such massive changes in your life? That’s the magic of manifesting and why so many people want to learn how to do it.
We sat down with master manifestor, author, and licensed therapist Christine Gutiérrez to talk about how to manifest and what the word really means. “Manifestation is doing the deep dive soul work necessary to look at the places where you feel unworthy or undeserving of your desires,” said Gutiérrez. “Clearing up emotional debris blocks—that's when you are able to get clarity, to be able to see what it is that you're actually deserving of and then bring it forth.”
Gutiérrez prides herself on her passion for teaching women that they are worthy, powerful, co-creators in their own lives. If you are ready to harness your power and explore the world of manifesting, keep reading.

How To Manifest
Learning to manifest is about looking inward to find the areas in your life blocking your ability to bring your desires into reality. Contrary to the belief that all you need to do is say your desire and it will come—Gutiérrez believes there are three levels to learning how to manifest.
1. The first level is looking inward
No matter what you hope to manifest, you must first look inward and connect with yourself at the core. "You must go to the root to manifest," said Gutiérrez. "You're not going to feel worthy of keeping the things that you manifest if you've done so from a shallow place." You can go inward by meditating, journaling, or praying. The point of this step is to connect with yourself to see where you are hurting and lacking. These are the places that are usually blocking your ability to manifest.
2. The Second Level Is Calling Your Manifestations In
This is the step you have probably seen all over TikTok. Once you do the necessary soul work to clear up emotional blockages, you must call in your desires. The clearing of blockages blesses you with clarity on what you want to manifest so you can call it in. For example, this is the stage where you would affirm, “I have my dream job” or “I am moving into the perfect apartment.”
3. The third level is putting in the work
This is the step you probably haven’t seen on TikTok. Gutiérrez believes manifestation only works if you do. “You have to ask yourself what steps you need to take in order to make your manifestations happen in real-time,” she said. And then put those steps into play.
Different Manifesting Methods
Once you understand how to manifest, the fun begins. The way you decide to manifest is up to you. You should only do what you feel called to do. Below are a few methods you can try out if you are ready to begin your manifesting journey.

Visualization
Visualization is the art of imagining what you want as if it's already happened. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and picture what you desire, feeling it in your body. "Imagine the sensations you're going to feel as if you have that thing," said Gutiérrez. If you are manifesting an island vacation, imagine how it would feel to have the sun beaming down on you. Imagine the grittiness of the sand on your feet and the smell of saltwater in the air.
Vision Boarding
If you are a hands-on person, try creating a vision board. Deemed the "old school method" by Gutiérrez, vision boards allow you to create something tangible to reference daily to remind you of your manifestations and bring them to life. Use a poster board or a piece of construction paper as the base of your vision board. Next, you cut out photos, quotes, and anything else that represents your manifestations from magazines and paste them onto your board. You can also create your vision board on Pinterest if digital is more your style.
Writing Your Manifestations Out
If you like to write, this may be the method for you. "There have been tons of studies around the power of writing things out, as opposed to just thinking about," said Gutiérrez. "When you write it, it's almost like the words seal the magic even more because you take them from thought to form." So, grab your journal and write out your desires. You can write whatever you want but ensure you affirm your manifestations. For example, you could write, "I am accepting a dream job offer," or "I am sunbathing on an island."
When To Manifest
Gutiérrez genuinely believes every day is an excellent opportunity to bring your manifestations into reality. Every morning when you wake up, you have the power, the authority to proclaim how you will feel and what you want to be born that day.
Naturally, there will be times when you feel more called to manifest, like during a new moon. There will also be times when you need to tend to the "seeds," aka manifestations planted, before calling in more desires. "Not all seasons are about the fruits blossoming,” said Gutiérrez. "Some seasons are about tending to the land. Whenever we have confusion about manifestation, we can look at the earth. Look at what you do when you're growing a seed. You give it time. You give it love. You give it water. You give it sun. I see manifestation as a gardening process."

Manifesting: Your Journey Begins
What is manifesting? It’s a superpower. It’s your ability to connect with yourself to create the life you desire. There is no force in manifesting, no ego, no shallowness. It’s about trusting yourself and the flow of life. “Manifestation, like anything else in our life, requires a journey,” said Gutiérrez. “A journey of meeting yourself and all the parts of you that are in disbelief. Meeting yourself with the patience and reverence to do the work, get the help, and get the support so that you can have what you want in your life.”
