NMD Sizing: A Guide to Finding the Right Fit

Hit the city streets in style with the NMD, a sneaker designed to provide comfort and confidence. Find your perfect pair today with our NMD size guide.

First released in December 2015, the NMD hit the pavement with an undeniable fashion that sneakerheads were quick to admire. Built upon the iconic Boost midsole, these everyday sneakers deliver energy return with every step. The sock-like upper flexes with your foot so you feel like you’re walking on a cloud. It’s the pinnacle of tech-meets-fashion: a truly innovative design made for comfort without compromising style. This combination of aesthetics and versatility is what makes NMD the choice shoe of artists and athletes on the go.

NMD_R1 is the original silhouette, but many more iterations have followed. There have been laceless uppers, artist collaborations, spin offs like the NMD_R1 V2—and there’s even more to come.

While all NMD models fit true to size, check our guide to see how different materials and designs can make the shoe feel tighter or roomier. To find your correct size, measure your feet using our official size guide official size guide

The NMD_R1 is the original silhouette that first launched in 2015 and is the foundation that all other NMD renditions have been built upon. With a Boost midsole and a sock-like mesh upper, this shoe delivers both style and functional comfort. The EVA plugs deliver that iconic casual NMD look. Now all that’s left to do is find your ideal colorway in this everyday classic.

How it fits: True to size

How to pick your size: For NMD_R1 sizing, measure your feet using our official size guide. Your measured size should fit comfortably in the NMD_R1.

The NMD_R1 Primeknit offers breathable, stretchy comfort due to the single, seamless layer of Primeknit that constructs the upper. This version has more of a sock-like fit than the original NMD_R1 and adjusts to your foot the moment you slip it on.

With a Boost midsole and Primeknit upper, you might be wondering how this fits differently from the Ultraboost. Ultraboost 20 is a performance shoe that fits tighter to support the foot while running, while the NMD_R1 Primeknit is meant for casual wear.

How it fits: True to size. The Primeknit upper lends a stretchier feel than the NMD_R1, but we recommend sticking to your usual size since the Primeknit adapts to your foot.

A visual shake-up from the classic, the NMD_R1 V2 features a sling-back pull tab and heel counter, which adds stability and support to your step. The distinct design features on the upper give the V2 a uniquely street-ready look that matches everything from your boldest outfits to your lowkey athleisure. Of course, it’s still the NMD you know and love with the cushioned Boost midsole and flexible knit upper.

How it fits: True to size. This silhouette feels slightly more snug due to the overlays in the upper, but it won’t affect your normal sizing choice.
