BREAKING BARRIERS WITH ‘GIRLS ON THE RUN®’

The December launch of our She Breaks Barriers initiative included a deeper national partnership with Girls on the Run – a non-profit focused on inspiring girls to activate their limitless potential through dynamic, interactive group lessons that promote self-empowerment and involve team running.

THE POWER OF PARTNERSHIPS

Aligned with our commitment to remove barriers in sport for women, our partnership with Girls on the Run has expanded through 2021. Since 1996 the organization has supported more than 1.6 million girls in building their confidence and serves over 200,000 girls each year across all 50 states. Networks, alliances and support are critical to the goals of the program. Staff, coaches, board members and over 100,000 volunteers make up the 200+ councils that serve their respective communities. Together with Girls on the Run we are focused on increasing opportunities for girls to reach their fullest potential. Our relationship is beyond providing apparel and footwear to the organization. Our partnership has expanded to (but is not limited to):

  • Commitment of adidas employee volunteer growth
  • Development of adidas employee coaches
  • Co-hosting 5K running events from coast to coast
  • Camp GOTR involvement
  • adidas employee board member support
  • Footwear and apparel sponsorship
  • Increased participation and support for the annual GOTR Summit
  • Online store merchandising
  • adidas Runners BEYOND program integration and support
  • Volunteer system integration
  • Tracking & measurement of collaborative impact
