4. Never buy NFTs that appear to be in the adidas for Prada collection, except for the official NFT art piece and the individually created tiles.
5. Only trust official information published on this website or in the #announcements channel on the official Discord server.
6. Only buy or sell adidas for Prada re-source NFTs via official channels, which will be linked on this website.

What is adidas for Prada re-source?

Join adidas and Prada on their shared mission to celebrate innovation with a journey into the new world of web3. A free and inclusive co-creation experience that is collaborative and open to all.

adidas for Prada re-source is a digital art creation project comprising 3,000 individual tiles created by the community. This culminates in a final artwork canvas designed by renowned digital artist Zach Lieberman, with revenue shared between all contributors and Slow Factory, a non-profit organization.

Participate in the project free of charge, with no mint or gas fees, and receive a share of revenues of the final co-created ERC-721 artwork at auction.

Why?

adidas and Prada seek to reward holders of adidas Originals Into the Metaverse NFTs, and to bridge the gap for a new community of creators to join the innovative world of web3.

As an interactive, dynamic platform, the project enables the community to contribute to a large scale artwork through play and discover the transformative benefits of web3, co-creation, digital ownership and NFTs — all while raising funds to facilitate the education of new communities from art, fashion, and beyond.

As an Into the Metaverse NFT holder, what does this mean for me?

adidas Originals: Into the Metaverse NFT holders have an allocation of places available on the waitlist for the drop.

For Into the Metaverse NFT holders, adidas for Prada re-source is an additional digital activation offered as an extra benefit, and does not affect the physical product claims and other activations that are being announced throughout 2022. Into the Metaverse remains an Ethereum mainnet NFT project.

How does it work?

Participate in the project by creating your own digital image contribution, which will be included as one of 3,000 tiles in Zach Lieberman’s final curated piece, an Ethereum mainnet ERC-721 NFT to be auctioned on SuperRare from January 28.

The proceeds from the auction sale will be split, with 80% donated to Slow Factory, a non-profit, 5% to Zach Lieberman, and 15% shared between all participants who created a tile (after auction fees).

How do I participate in adidas for Prada re-source?

In order to create the most equitable access, the adidas for Prada re-source drop will involve a waitlist to determine access to the raffle to receive an NFT.

In short, there are two steps:

1. Connect your wallet and create your image contribution to join the waitlist.
2. Return to the website and connect your wallet. If you were successful in the raffle, mint your NFT, which will be featured as one tile in the final collaborative art piece.

The waitlist was open to everyone, with sign-up open from 08:00 EST / 14:00 CET / 21:00 SGT on January 24 to 08:00 EST / 14:00 CET / 21:00 SGT on January 25.

After the waitlist closed, wallets were raffled, as described below.

How can I be invited to participate in the adidas for Prada re-source mint?

After waitlist sign-ups close, wallet addresses on the waitlist will be grouped by:

1. Group 1: holders of the adidas Originals Into the Metaverse NFT when the snapshot was taken at block 14041457 — 20 January at 08:57 UTC.
2. Group 2: users who attempted to mint Into the Metaverse NFTs in the public sale, but whose transactions failed and gas was lost (this does not include mint attempts after the early access pause, the gas for which has already been refunded)
3. Group 3: all wallet addresses that do not fall into either group 1 or group 2

From each group, a randomized raffle will determine the allow-list of 3,000 wallets that can receive an individual tile NFT, comprising:

1. 1,000 addresses from group 1
2. 500 addresses from group 2
3. 1,500 addresses from group 3

Should group 1 or group 2 contain fewer addresses than 1,000 and 500 respectively, a raffle will not run. Instead, all wallet addresses from the given group will be included in the allow-list. If group 2 has less than 500 addresses, it will 'fill up' from group 1. If groups 1 and 2 contain less than 1,500 in total, the difference between the actual number of wallet addresses and 1,500 will be rolled into group 3.

Where bot entries or T&C violations are detected, those entries will be deleted and the raffle in the given group will run again.

In addition, 30 tiles are reserved for the hard working individuals who brought this project to life. The total number of tiles available is 3,030.

What do I get if I participate in adidas for Prada re-source?

As a co-creator, you mint a tile NFT, free of charge. Your tile forms part of a final artwork canvas, created by Zach Lieberman.

NFT tile creators receive:

1. 3% of secondary market sales, in perpetuity, of their individual tile, after secondary marketplace (e.g. OpenSea) fees have been deducted
2. An equal share among all tile creators of 15% of the final canvas sale at auction, after auction fees have been deducted

Please note that you must be successful in the raffle in order to receive an NFT and be part of the final art piece. Entries that are not successful in the raffle do not receive these benefits.

What does it cost to participate?

Nothing. There is no charge to mint an NFT, and the transaction does not incur a gas fee for the user.

How can I best prepare for the drop?

1. Make sure that you have installed a web3 wallet, such as MetaMask
2. Follow the official instructions to add the Polygon network to your wallet using Polygonscan
3. Approve the Polygon network in Metamask
4. You’re ready. Make sure that you enter the waitlist from January 24 in order to participate in the raffle to contribute to the project.

Please note that adidas Originals Into the Metaverse remains an Ethereum mainnet project. The Polygon network provides the opportunity to create artwork to contribute to the final art piece. The final artwork is minted on Ethereum mainnet and royalties paid to NFT holders after the final canvas sale are paid on the Ethereum mainnet.

What is the individual tile?

The individual tile is a photograph, adapted and modulated with a filter. Each tile stands as a Polygon ERC-721 NFT in its own right, but is also a unique user-created component part of the final artwork Ethereum mainnet ERC-721 NFT auctioned via SuperRare.

During the waitlist period, individual tile images can be submitted to the raffle. All images must be in line with our community guidelines. This means that they should not include profanity, nudity, inciteful or hateful imagery, symbolism or allegory.

What is the final artwork?

Zach Lieberman’s final art piece comprises over 3,000 individual tiles overlaid on an adidas for Prada campaign image. The artwork is composed using openFrameworks, the open-source creative code library founded by Lieberman.

How do I contribute to the artwork?

When entering the waitlist, grant permissions to your camera. You can then take a photograph with Zach Lieberman’s filter applied. This filter blurs, slices and modulates the image from your camera feed to create a unique digital image. Once you are happy with your image, submit it.

If your wallet is selected in the raffle, your token will be airdropped to you. Connect your wallet to the website to see if you were successful.

What should I create for my image tile?

Play! We suggest capturing an image of something meaningful, and to demonstrate what play means to you.

Bear in mind that your submission, if successful in the raffle and later minted as an NFT, will be saved permanently on the blockchain.

Please note that submissions must be in line with our community guidelines. This means that they should not include profanity, nudity, inciteful or hateful imagery, symbolism, or allegory. As per the terms and conditions, we reserve the right to remove image submissions that do not meet these standards, before the raffle is conducted.

Do you save my image?

Images that are not minted as NFTs are destroyed within 48 hours of the waitlist closing. There is no way for us to retrieve these images.

Images that are minted as NFTs are stored in the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS).

What can I do with my tile?

As a tile creator, you own your individual tile. You can choose to hold it, or sell/trade/donate it.

Regardless of what you do with your tile, the wallet you used to create it will receive proportional secondary revenue, in perpetuity, from sales of your individual tile — in addition to a proportion of the winning auction bid for the final art canvas.

Where is the final artwork being auctioned?

The final artwork will be auctioned on SuperRare, an Ethereum-based digital art marketplace.

How do I find out if I was successful?

From January 27, connect your wallet to find out if you were successful. Your NFT will be airdropped to you.

If I am not successful, what happens?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to participate and create an NFT tile.

However, you can still participate in the project by bidding on the final canvas auction or by purchasing a collection NFT on the secondary market.

If I am successful, what next?

If you were successful in the raffle and invited to participate, your NFT will be airdropped to you. Connect your wallet to the website to find out if you were successful.

What if I’m successful in the raffle, but don’t mint my NFT?

NFTs are minted by the team and airdropped, for free, to your wallet.

Why does my tile not feature in the final artwork?

Before the final artwork is composed, a manual review is performed to check for abusive content. Any individual tile contributions that breach the terms of acceptable use will not be included in the final artwork, and will not receive a revenue share of sales of the final artwork.

What does Into the Metaverse “failed transaction” access mean?

To recognize community members who attempted to participate in the Into the Metaverse NFT drop, 500 places will be reserved for wallet addresses that attempted to mint in the Into the Metaverse NFT public sale, but failed and lost gas. These are described as group 2, or “failed transaction” wallets.

Should more than 500 “failed transaction” wallets sign up for the waitlist, a randomized raffle will determine the 500 addresses that will be invited to participate in the NFT creation process.

I don’t have an Into the Metaverse NFT or fall into the “failed transaction” category, what does this mean for me?

You can enter the raffle to participate in the adidas for Prada re-source.

A minimum of 1,500 places are reserved for wallets that do not fall into group 1 (Into the Metaverse NFT holders) or group 2 (“failed transaction” wallets).

How long is the waitlist open for sign-ups?

24 hours, from 08:00 EST / 14:00 CET / 21:00 SGT on January 24.

How long is the mint phase open for?

24 hours, from 08:00 EST / 14:00 CET / 21:00 SGT on January 26.

Who is Zach Lieberman?

Zachary Lieberman is an artist, researcher, and educator with a simple goal: he wants you surprised. In his work, he creates performances and installations that take human gesture as input and amplify them in different ways -- making drawings come to life, imagining what the voice might look like if we could see it, transforming people’s silhouettes into music.

He’s been listed as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People and his projects have won the Golden Nica from Ars Electronica, Interactive Design of the Year from Design Museum London, as well as being listed in Time Magazine’s Best Inventions of the Year. He creates artwork through writing software and is a co-creator of openFrameworks, an open source C++ toolkit for creative coding, and helped co-found and teaches at the School for Poetic Computation, a school examining the lyrical possibilities of code. He’s also a professor at MIT’s Media Lab, where he runs the Future Sketches group.

What is Slow Factory?

Slow Factory, a non-profit organization and institute working to create education to drive meaningful solutions and inclusive communities.

Slow Factory will receive a majority of the income from the final canvas auction (after auction fees), and 2.5% in perpetuity of secondary market revenue from all individual tiles.

Where does cryptocurrency spent on the auction or on the secondary market go?

adidas and Prada do not receive income from this project on either the primary or secondary market. Revenues are distributed as follows:

1. Individual tile — mint: NFT available for free with a gasless transaction
2. Individual tile — secondary market. After marketplace fees:
   1. 94% to the seller
   2. 3% to Slow Factory
   3. 3% to the wallet of the tile’s original creator
3. Final canvas — auction. After auction fees:
   1. 80% to Slow Factory
   2. 5% to Zach Lieberman
   3. 15% split evenly between all tile creators featured in the final artwork canvas.

   The final canvas is auctioned on Ethereum mainnet, and royalties are paid to all stakeholders on Ethereum mainnet.

Why is this NFT drop on Polygon/Matic?

The individual tile NFTs are minted on Polygon. This is because it is an Ethereum “layer 2” that is regarded as more environmentally-friendly than some other blockchain networks.

The final NFT artwork, in which up to 3,000 individual tile creators will receive a royalty, is an Ethereum mainnet ERC-721 token.

What are gas, gwei or minting fees?

Gas fees, or minting fees, are a transaction fee on the Ethereum blockchain. When you make transactions, such as purchasing an NFT, you will need enough ETH in your wallet for the initial purchase and the associated gas fees.

The gas fee enables your transaction to be processed on the Ethereum network and stored on the blockchain. The price of gas is volatile and fluctuates based on the supply of miners who receive the gas for the transaction vs. the demand from consumers/minters making transactions.

adidas for Prada re-source individual tile NFTs are minted on Polygon, an Ethereum “layer 2”, and uses gasless transactions. This means that, as a creator, you do not pay any gas fees to mint your tile NFT. As there is also no mint cost, participation is entirely free of charge.

The final artwork canvas, in which all NFT holders receive a royalty, is a ERC-721 Ethereum mainnet NFT. Royalties are paid on Ethereum mainnet.

What happens to gas fees?

There are no gas fees in the adidas for Prada re-source drop.

Typically, gas fees are paid to miners as a reward for processing Ethereum transactions and keeping the network online. adidas does not set gas fees or receive proceeds from gas fees.

What if the NFT is sold out?

This drop cannot 'sell out', in the typical sense. If you win the raffle, you will receive an NFT.

If you missed out, you can participate in the final canvas auction or on the secondary market.

Are these NFTs available to buy in my country?

We are restricted from offering NFTs to certain countries or individuals deemed sanctioned by governing bodies. Please refer to the sanction websites for the United States, countries of the European Union, and Switzerland for an up-to-date list to learn if you or your country is listed.

What is an NFT?

A non-fungible token, or NFT, is a digital asset used to represent ownership of unique items or access, whether digital or physical. Most commonly they are used for digital collectibles. Ownership and transfer of an NFT is secured by the Ethereum blockchain, which ensures that one NFT only has one owner at any given time, and that nobody can modify the history of the token’s ownership.

What is cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is a digital currency or store of value that uses the blockchain, a digital transaction ledger, to record and secure online transactions. Cryptocurrencies can be used to buy goods and services. Currently, the most traded cryptocurrency is Bitcoin, followed by Ethereum.

What is a “digital wallet”?

A blockchain wallet is a digital storage that enables you to store and transact with cryptocurrency. In its simplest form, a wallet comprises a public and private key, which are cryptographically generated.

To make the process of setting up a wallet user-friendly, there are many software wallets, such as Metamask, which equip you with a wallet address, key vault, secure login, and backup options to manage your digital assets securely. Metamask runs as a browser extension and/or mobile app, and you can be up and running in just a couple minutes. Learn more at Metamask FAQ.

With a digital wallet, you hold the keys and are in charge of your own assets. Your assets are only as safe as your keys, so back them up and keep them safe! Remember to never, ever share your seed phrase to anyone. That is for your eyes only.

Which wallet can I use?

The adidas for Prada re-source experience supports most major Web3 wallets, including MetaMask and WalletConnect.

What is an NFT marketplace?

NFT marketplaces such as Opensea and SuperRare enable creators and collectors to buy, sell and create. After connecting your wallet, you can purchase, auction or sell a wide range of NFTs.
