I have been looking for a new pair of shoes made specifically for squatting. I have been using flat solved shoes for years and wanted to try the raised heels for high bar and front squats. The Powerlift 3 shoes fit the bill for my needs. I like the slight heel raise and how it affects my squat performance. The shoes are well made and fit well but seem to be a bit narrow in the toes. (I wear size 12d and ordered 12d). I have only used them for one front squat training session thus far, so time will tell as far as shoe longevity is concerned. Still, at this point I am very pleased with the Powerlift 3 shoes. I will likely only use these shoes for high bar squats, front squats and similar exercises.
I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the shoe with the triaxle design that looks like the Star of David, or how the BOA system looks. However the BOA is functionally great being able to dial in tightness and fit, as well as being comfortable. The pitch of the heal is bigger than the adipower, so for those with mobility issues it does help. The style grew on me which to me was the only downside, but the performance and comfort overall are great. The BOA lacing system also has a lifetime guarantee from BOA Tech.
So it's been almost a year I've been doing weightlifting, and since there was a nice 40% off Canada day Sale ($135+tax), I decided to treat myself. Coming from the Adidas Adipower, I didn't know exactly what to expect from a different lacing system AND a bigger heel height. One week in, I've had a good feel of the shoe, but I don't know if it can break in more. So the BOA system is very convenient to put on, and in terms of tightness, it's at least equal to the traditional laces and strap. All in all, it's an upgrade in my opinion. Then there's the heel height. This will vary between people because of their body mechanics, but my lifts definitely saw an improvement, with my squat greatly improving and my pulls staying the same (some people get pulled forward). The one issue I've had here (my hypothesis) was that since the heel height is bigger, the horizontal length of my foot is shorter, but the shoe stays the same size. So if you wear say a 9.5 Adipower, get a 9 of this one. It also explains why the shoe isn't as comfortable, because I have to tighten the shoe too much. All in all, it's a good pair of shoes, but I would never pay the absurd price some sites sell these for.
Great shoes, bouncy and cool design. for narrow feet i suggest stick to your own size. i got mine half size longer which i usualy does when buying a pair but its a bit longer than i expected, shoe lace is too short. overall, Highly recommended training shoes!
For me being light and flexible is a must in a shoe, these fill that criteria totally. Highly breathable, soft and the pure boost soles provide soft and subtle cushioning, especially when you start to run in them. If you want a good training shoe, or whether just for casual to wear with jeans or shorts, these are the perfect match. Highly recommend....
Great pair of shoes. I'm new to the boost soles, but I don't think I'll ever go back. I think they fit pretty much true to size, I bought 1/2 size up just in case but found them to be too big. The one complaint though, I have had to readjust them a few times, I find them slightly too narrow for my feet. Overall, a great purchase and I recommend these shoes to just about anyone.
Product was very high quality and exactly what I was expecting in terms of looks and comfort. Very effective weightlifting shoes and I recommend for any first time or regular Olympic weight lifters or crossfitter.
I'm a woman who fit a size 6 mens. Womens sandals I found ugly and I wanted plain styles. Maybe consider more unisex sandals and I am from Canada and the sizing was only 8 men's available a little frustrating.
A few other people mentioned running small, but I felt they were more than 1/2 size too small. I wear a 13, regular in all my other shoes and they fit fine. I got a 14 in the ZG Trainer and it is still a little too small. The length is about right, but with the narrow width I wish I could have ordered a 14.5 or 15. Overall comfort is excellent and shoe quality seems really good. Adidas just needs to figure out sizing and these would be 5 star.
The shoes are great for indoor gym types of workouts, you can still feel the boost technology not as much as the ultra boost but just enough to allow you to move quickly. The only this I wish they had was additional selections of colors.
This shoe was completely awesome to run in along with working out in the gym. It stayed comfortable all day every day for as long as I had it. I recommend this shoe to everyone who is active most of the day.
So I have been training in running shoes for years. This is my first pair of trainers and I love them. I am a trainer and member at Title Boxing Club and they really help with lateral movement and stability. The boost material is great and the soles are super sticky. I understand the need for the straps on the sides, but after a couple hours of hard training, they did dig the sides of my feet a bit. One to two hour sessions are fine, but if you wear them for more than that or for casual wear you may find a little discomfort. Not sure if they are worth the 40 buck upgrade from the regular ZG trainers but, that being said, they look great, are super bouncy, help with movement and speed. Great job Adidas
I bought these thinking they would be alright for my gym workouts and light running. I bought these thinking the fit would be there, as the usual quality of shoe I've come to expect however what I got was something else. These kick butt! Seriously! I have not taken them off! The fir is snug so if you have wide feet, buyer beware. The side supports are perfectly cinching so I get good movement. No slippage. The neoprene had me nervous but it paid off because it fits my foot perfectly! Well done to the bad boys of Adidas on this one!
Im very happy with this buy they are very comfortable and looks great too. I already got lots of compliment on how nice they look. They are a little narrow so I recommend you buy half a size up. The quality of the materials used looks real durable. I dont hear much hype on about these kicks but it surely is one of the best shoes I have.
Awesome shoe, but these run 1/2 size small, this was confirmed by an adidas rep after I bought them so thankfully adidas.com has free returns! Can't wait for my new shoes to arrive! Light, but supportive and they look good!
This is a great shoe at a great price. They are made of good materials that hold up well and don't show a lot of wear. I typically wear a 12, and the 12 in this shoe is a tad bit short. Also, they are narrow, but I LOVE that. I have a slightly below average width, and these shoes fit great. Thinking of buying a 2nd pair!
I have always worn a size 14 in adidas and every other shoe company and these shoes run way to small. I tired purchasing 3 different pairs thinking that it was just the first pair that was a faulty shoe, but then when I received the other two pairs they were crushing my feet. I would have to buy 1 size larger to make them fit.
The length of these shoes are fine, but the speed trainer 2.0 runs tight at the toe. I order a 9.5 and I had to return to get a 10. I know it sounds weird but it's true. The size 10 has more toe space than the usual performance sneaker but it's overall acceptable. Thx adidas keynote: In most running sneakers I am a 9.5.
