Out of the box, the quality is apparent. I discovered they are sized a whole size too big....the shoes for technical running should be fitted in the heel and mid-foot while comfortable with no friction. Once I found the right size, I tested them on a swift 12 mile run in the mountains and was surprised at the flexible feel and suppleness of an otherwise beefy shoe. The forefoot mesh flexes laterally across the top of the foot....giving that extra width when stepping down and springing back to a snug fit when the foot is relaxed. Perhaps they could still make a couple millimeters of width in the toe box. My feet are a standard width. The grip of the sole truly couldn't be better. A++. I could literally step anywhere in a pinch based on the demands of a fast technical downhill and the shoe stuck until my foot lifted off the surface. Perhaps Continental should make climbing shoes. The sole otherwise is surprisingly springy and I feel an energy return from what seemed to be a stiffer and comparatively "heavy" shoe. (10oz) I would recommend these over Solomon, LaSportiva or any of the other True Mountain running shoe. The speed laces stay put. Adidas makes a high quality and thought out product. Terrain: Colorado
I have been waiting for these running shoes and they are worth the wait. I love the Adistar shoe and the Boost energy heel is amazing. I am used to Adidas running shoes so I am accustomed to their fit. I do not find them to be shoes that run small or a tight. These are phenomenal shoes that help with my slight pronating issue and very high arch. The Adistar shoes are good, sturdy light weight shoes. I have to agree that the black and bright pink look a bit "young" for my age....but I could learn to live with the colour. Excellent shoe!
I'm a huge fan of adidas and it took me a while to change from the mega bounce and micro bounce to the spring blade. I made the switch and my 1st pair the neon green ( tennis ball color) pair and one of the blade broke at the ball of my shoe. No problem adidas replaced it. I got the 2nd pair in solar pink and it broke in the same place on both...no problem adidas exchanged again . They were very helpful and said the shoe was redesigned and the sole will not break. They were right and the shoes are very comfy and draws a lot of attention with the amazing color combo. I recommend them for running and long term standing 8+ hours. Oh yeah go down a half size because the shoes are a little long.
Compared to the 2014 model of these shoes, I would say it runs 1/2 a size larger. The material inside of the shoes feels softer as well as the outer material since they got rid of the plastic mesh with holes that covered most of the 2014 shoe. It feels like I'm wearing running shoes when I wear them...they are very comfortable. I'm not sure if I don't make as many side to side motions or that I don't notice the stability issue compared to one reviewer...overall if a person can live with the shoe being 1/2 a size larger, I like it more than the 2014 model.
I am a retired semi elite 10km runner (but I still run seriously without racing). I've been running in saucony guide and their predecessors for twenty years. They recently changed it so majorly I can't wear them anymore. I've been struggling ever since to find "my" shoe. I've tried all sorts of models of asics, saucony, Nike, brooks, etc., and none of them were right. I finally tried Adidas boost and was pleasantly surprised at the cushioning and especially their durability. I later bought a pair of Adistar boost and their superiority was apparent immediately. They offer far more cushioning, especially in the heel, than almost all the other brands I've tried (and more than the regular boost), a necessity for the mountainous terrain I run on. Yet the Adistar achieves this without adding weight or compromising durability, the two problems often associated with extra heel cushioning. The divided heel section is brilliant, offering superior cushioning during the initial heel strike. It also provides the smoothest heel to forefoot transition of any shoe I've run in for the last twenty years. This makes it a quick shoe. The easy transition also means it limits runners fatigue, as you're not labouring through each stride but transitioning quickly. You can run a lot further in them for the same amount of every expenditure. Another awesome feature is the continental rubber on the outsole. These shoes last a long time in both the outer and midsole. They outlast other running shoes by an extra 25-50% distance. This makes them well worth the price. The only thing I wish was different was more traction. Half of what I run are mountain trails, and these are really designed for road use only.
I am a believer! I've been running on the regular Glide Boosts for about a year now, but decided to train for a marathon (in Chicago!) this winter, so I knew I needed something that would keep me warm during the cold weather. I came across these and knew I had to have them. I wore these today on a 4 mile run through 2-4 inches of untouched snow, air temp 10 degrees, windchill below 0, and they kept my feet completely dry and toasty warm. I wore them with a pair of thin wool socks and they were perfect. I heartily recommend these to anyone crazy enough to brave the elements and run in the cold midwestern (or anywhere) winters!
I'm usually a size 8 so that's the size I got and they fit perfectly. I love the design of these trainers, the feel great to run in, they feel extremely comfortable and offer support where its needed. I also like the fact the material is really light and breathable. They're almost too nice to wear! I won't lie, I'm a comic book geek but the fact that these are the trainers from the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie is just a bonus. I love the Avengers logo but if it's not your thing it's also small enough to go unnoticed.
These are seriously the most AMAZING shoes to ever grace my feet. I was having some pretty bad knee pain when I was running, so I went to a specialty running store and got a gait analysis done (which I highly recommend and is usually free), and after trying on many other shoes, I was amazed when I put these on. They are light, breathe extremely well, provide awesome support while maintaining good flexibility, and they come in more neutral colors than some of the more ostentatious colors by other brands. I can't say enough about them! The price can be a little shocking, but the guy at the running store told me that because of their high quality build, they last for 500-600 miles per pair, instead of the usual 300-400 in other shoes. They are worth every penny. My husband and I now both own a pair, and they have been great to us for over 6 months now.
I ordered these bad boys simply because they looked cool. Well to my surprise they are very comfy. I would say they run just a hair larger then expected and a little on the narrow side. But in all fairness I don't have slender feet. They can be a little slippery on a damp day. But over all they are well made and will provide good support. Lastly the cost is a bit much. I did wait for a sale.
These are so comfortable, like little feet pillows :) They mesh-type material they are made from will make them great for hot weather, I can feel the breeze which helps keep my feet cool. I am usually a size 8.5 and these fit almost perfectly but they are just a little long in the toes.
I think these shoes are amazingly comfortable, light weight, and flexible. Loved the colors and the material. If I didn't know better, I would have kept them... But over the years, I have realized that I really need better arch support for long days on my feet, or for high impact workouts. I have chosen to return these ONLY because of my dumb high arches. I decided to purchase a second pair of the Supernova Sequence Boost 7 shoes instead. They feels amazing on my arches, and I seriously feel like I jump higher in them! LOL
I love these trainers. I wasn't sure on the photo that I would keep them when i ordered but after trying them on I don't want to take off! They look much nicer on your feet than on the website. Few comments - the fit is snug so I ordered a 5.5 instead of 5. The fabric is very thin so my feet feel cold outside in winter. Great if you are training but I am wearing these for every day as I like the look of them so much. Much more like a summer trainer. I like these so much that I am looking to buy another pair of boost for training in as I want to wear these for every day!
This is a very different shoe to my normal running trainer but having done a few runs in them now i love the bounce they give. I used the online chat facility and the person i had was a runner and had used them which was reassuring. I was a bit hesitant about buying a trainer i had never tried on but knowing i was a neutral runner i was given some great advice and a few different options.
I was worrying about the size. I wear 8.5 in nike, so i ordered 8.5 for these shoes, they are fit and comfortable. Even it costs more but I love the shoes and yea, they charge $5 to ship to Hawaii. I love the color, can't find one pair like these for 3 year!!
These are great running shoes. I bought them to replace a previous pair of adidas running shoes of a different style. Very comfortable, and I didn't even need to break them in. The back is made of a felt-like material, so they don't rub at your heels. Great bounce in the soles, and reflector 3 stripes and laces make them safe for late night/early morning runs. So comfy that I'm considering a pair for work now too.
