These shoes work great for basketball. I did get a little blister on the out sides of both of my large toes because they are a bit narrow... but other than that they are doing the job. definitely not my favorite pair of shoes. But I like how the pattern is not exactly mirrored on the shoes. both shoes have a unique but correlating pattern.
I was a little worried this shoe would be too big as I am in between in the sizing supplied for NZ/AUZ. I am a 39.5 and the only do 38.5 or a 40. I wish this could get sorted!! Anyway the 40's are usually too big but this style must run a little small and they are perfect. LOVE THEM.
Okay, first-- The color depicted on the web for blue is not the blue you will receive. It's a darker, richer blue, not a light powder almost pastel as depicted. I'm indifferent over this, so no big deal. Now the important stuff. Quality is classical excellent as expected for this jacket, however I was expecting a little more taper and tailoring overall and found the size dimensions to be off by a large margin. I would highly recommend ordering a size down if your very athletic (broad shoulders, small waist). If you're slim overall (beanpole model types) then go two sizes down. I'm happy with my purchase, but will be ordering a size down and returning my current jacket.
A single shoe from the new design weighs about 6 ounces more than the original design (19 ounces versus 13 ounces). These shoes are no longer good for everyday use. For those who know and love the original design: put these on a mantel. I have been a faithful owner of the Rod Laver shoe for 15 years and I was awestruck by the weight of the new design, right out of the box. They are very clunky. I gave this design a try in spite of its weight, but it fails. "New gum outsole for improved traction and grip"? Not so. The outsoles have worn down quickly and I am feeling worn from toting an extra 12 ounces of shoe around. I implore Adidas on behalf of sport and active use, to restore the design to its reasonable proportions. Please, and thank you.
My son attends a very strict private school and he is only allowed to wear full white or black shoes. Nowadays it is challenging to find such shoes on a solid color. I found this for the 2015 school year and will stick with them until the end. This shoes are durable and comfortable for jumpers, runners, hoppers and all around kids who can't sit still.
I needed a new pair of sneakers after I broke my ankle. These are the ONLY shoes I could wear that would provide support. The fact that they were awesomely cool was just an added bonus. The color is outstanding and the Ortholite insert makes them very comfortable. I added some cool laces and I was stylin'. BUT, the soles are coming away from the form of the shoe after four and a half months of daily use. I am extremely disappointed because I do not have another$70 to spare to buy a new pair. It is outrageous.
Bought this for my brother as a Christmas gift. It is really good and looks cool, even if Juve is not your favourite team. The model size and what he is wearing was a great help to decide what size to get and it fits him perfectly.
I was the first kid in my high school to wear Adidas tennis shoes, Adidas Italia. They were kangaroo leather, super soft and incredibly comfortable. They were not made to withstand the grind of a tennis court, but rather afterwards relaxing after a day of tennis with my friends. Watching Rod Laver's matches coupled with his skill and ability, I was destined to move into a pair of "those to be" classic shoes. They have been my favorite tennis-athletic shoe for decades. Washability. Wearability. Comfort. Classic style. Dependable. Adidas has a champion with the Rod Laver Classic Tennis Shoe. At 62, I can't tell that any extra weight has slowed me down any chasing a tennis ball across the court. Thanks Adidas for keeping the legends alive! A ll D ay I D ream A bout S ports J Davis
Comfy, stylish and great for my Zumba classes. They last. They're a little narrow. I loosened the laces and they fit perfect. I have them in gold and in black. Get compliments on the gold Every time I wear them. I'd buy these I other colors if you make them. Not just the neutral colors. OH! and all my foot, knee and hip pains are gone when I started using these. Ty!
I tach many Zumba Fitness classes every week. I own few pairs which I alternate constantly to keep my feet healthy. This sneakers are cute becasue of he look. They are fine i usually buy dance snakers half a size bigger than my actual size to give room for thick sock and toe. I recomend this shoe if your feet are not too wide but average and you do not need too much support. I recomend the shoe for very smooth dance surfaces though. Wooden floors.
My son loved his shirt, it's excellent quality and looks great. However, it was for his 15th birthday - he's 5 feet six inches and pretty skinny, and the Adult Medium size fits him well now - no room to grow into. In my view, a skinny, five feet six inch 15 year old wouldn't be a natural Adult Medium!
They are really comfy and they are really gorgeous shoes. Although I'm afraid of scratching them and getting them dirty I'm always careful with them but overall, not too big not too small, they fit great.
If you are a long-time Laver-lover, beware! The shoe has changed, and where my foot is concerned, the change is not for the better. I have probably owned twenty pairs of Lavers since 1980, but it's been a few years since the last pair. The rubber on the shoe has changed...it is much harder than it used to be, and it affects the wearability considerably. I'm not sure why Adidas changed from the softer sole, but this just killed the area of my arch (I'm flat-footed). Change it back, please!
Like many of the other reviewers, I've been wearing Rod Lavers for many years and they were my all-time favorite sneakers. Cool looking, light, and great wearing. At least until now. I bought a new pair 2 months ago and they are heavy, feel "flat", and the sole just seperated from the upper along the toe line a few days ago. I don't know what Adidas was thinking when they changed them, but I do know that they've made a lot of long-time customers sad.
Amazing Jersey. Beautiful bright colors, logo and totally official. It's crazy wearing this and watching Messi play in the same one! I recommend this to any fans you'll love wearing it! AREGENTINA SOMOS TODOS!
Awesome top. Really good fit and very comfy. Washes well and looks excellent. I had numbers and name put on and it still only took until Friday to arrive when ordered on Sunday. My only gripe (apart from the price - how can they justify it!) is that on the internet, a guy got one and it came in a really cool box with some sort of memory card. Ours just came in a plastic bag without.
Visited my local Adidas outlet here in LA and I found these gems. I was looking for a simple low profile yet durable pair of shoes around $100 but then I found these and they were a perfect fit and the price was about half of what I initially had in mind. Sure the inch and a half thick soles may be a negative for most people, but if you are looking for something with support to perfect moon walking, gliding, toe spins, and heel toe grippy balance these are my personal favorites PLUS the mesh make these ultra breathable. Best and most reasonable purchase of sneakers I ever had, EVER! If you are a dancer give these a try, or if you are looking for durable soles.
I weight these on a digital kitchen scale, so I can be specific: The pair weighs more than a pound more than my old Rod Lavers. That's not a minor difference; in fact it's insane. I had no idea they had ever been discontinued, so I thought I had just found a great price. #fail As soon as I picked them up, I knew something was very wrong. ALSO, the sizing has changed. These now fit like most currents sneakers, so whereas I used to wear a 13 in these, I would now need a 14. Very frustrating waste of time.
Not in agreement with all the complaints about this shoe. I bought my first about two years ago and now bought my second. Yes, the shoe may be a little heavier than some, but the sole wears like iron on hardcourt tennis courts. Has a lot of support as well, feet don't get as tired as flimsy soled shoes like the Stan Smith or similar. Mesh upper breathes too - better than leather for outdoor play. I've even run a bit in them because of the support, but I am not into the minimalist thing either.
I purchase the Rod Laver shoes when the black version is available. I was excited when they were available again. My latest pair do seem different from my previous purchases. They don't fit as well and the new sole is somewhat stiffer. I would have bought two pair but the reviews weren't that positive. I still like the look of the shoe, but I must say they aren't as comfortable as before. I've decided not to purchase two pair because of the different sole. Maybe Adidas will go back to the previous outsole.
The Rod Laver used to be a great, light weight shoe but for some reason, adidas have started using a heavy sole which kills the show. These are the heaviest shoe I've seen, let alone for a supposed light weight shoe. ADIDAS - Please return this shoe to its lightweight glory.
I'm dealing with arthritic hips, so I've been looking for shoes that can keep me walking with some degree of comfort -- these shoes work perfectly for me! They are sturdy, well-cushioned, comfortable and fit my size 7 feet very well. Plus they look great, proving that I didn't have to give up style for comfort. Highly recommended!
The new version is: heavier, less supportive and looks clunky I have owned 5 pairs of the Rod Laver's over the last 10 years. I went to purchase a new pair for the next 2 years and was extremely disappointed. From previous reviews and Adidas responses, it sounds like the Laver's were changed to a new sole for a better "grip". I found the updated version to be very heavy, had a loss of the arch support and looked clunky. Please bring back the previous version-it has plenty of grip, was stylish and supportive.
I've worn Rod Lavers since the early 80's, and loved them...until now. I do notice the heaviness that others have mentioned, but that part doesn't bother me. What did bother me were the blisters on the backs of my heels after the first day of wear. This was very unexpected, as I'd worn Lavers for 30+ years, with super comfort, straight out of the box. And now this. I've been seeing quite a few negative reviews for this shoe, and can't understand why (it seems that) nothing's been done to fix it.
I have been wearing Rod Lavers for years, and every few years I buy a new pair. I wear a lot of adidas and I am consistently a men's US 9.5. When my new pair arrived, my joy turned to sorrow why I saw what adidas has done with the shoe. First of all the size is totally wrong. (see my picture comparing the old and new). Secondly, the quality has changed for the worse. The sole feels plastic.
