Adizero Ubersonic Shoes Low profile without the cushioning
November 15 2015

Initially I loved this shoe I felt planted to the ground and moved extremely well on the court. It was almost my favorite shoe of all time. However... My knees really started to hurt after a few sessions on the court. I'm 35 years old and still play very hard but I wish I had younger knees so I could give this shoe 5 stars. ... read more

Adizero Ubersonic Shoes Great shoes- disappointing sole
October 26 2015

I love the support and comfort these shoes provide. Initially I preferred these shoes to all previous purchases. However, I am disappointed by the lack of durability in the sole of the shoe. I have owned these for less than two months and for the past week and a half the sole has been worn through on my primary foot. I play tennis 10-12 hrs a week on hard courts. I guess if you play even half as frequently as that you would be better served by the Barricade shoes which are guaranteed for 6 months. ... read more

Stella McCartney Barricade Shoes Love this tennis shoe!
August 29 2015

I have a large and hard to fit foot. The Barricade 2015 by Stella McCartney fits my foot perfectly! It has great support and can be adjusted well for width and stability control. The one thing that I would suggest is to have an extra hole at the top for the laces to snug up the heel. I have a wide forefoot and a very narrow heel. So, the extra hole helps to snug up the heel. The arch support is great and snug. The lack of stitching around the toes is excellent and relieves any pressure points on the forefoot. I'm hoping to buy a second pair as a backup out of fear that I won't be able to get this same shoe later. I'm a USPTA Elite pro of 30+ years and support, comfort, and great looks in a shoe is important .... and this shoe delivers on all three. ... read more

Adizero Ubersonic Shoes Best Adizero Yet
August 03 2015

Trust me when I say this, I have a lot of adidas tennis shoes. I am a big fan of the barricade and have recently been sporting the barricade 9 which I think is a great shoe. Recently I got the chance to test out the new Ubersonic, I have tried a couple of Adizero shoes in the past but often found them feeling either cheap or uncomfortable. Firstly, I was keen to try this particular model because I think it looks great. In all black with a red sole these shoes look like they mean business, a stealth bomber disguised as a tennis shoe. The profile of the shoe also boosts it's aesthetics, the guys at adidas told me this has been build on a running last thus giving the unbersonic a sleek and speedy look. The subtle 3 stripe branding on the side and adidas logo on the heel all add to the shoes look. It's not showy, it's 'I am going to sneak on on court, cause you problems, and then disappear before you even know who or what happened' and I love that! So, how does the Ubersonic perform? I haven't been harping on about the looks just because I am image concious, although we do all like to look good on court. However I think the performance of this shoe is actually based around the sleek and speedy look of it. The shoe feels planted, you feel low to the ground and ready to pounce, or dance if that's more your thing. My best analogy is that this this is an F1 car, and your the driver sat low and close to the floor. It defiantly does feel a little like a running shoe for tennis, and maybe that's what adidas had in mind. This shoe is supposed to be about speed and I certainly feel quicker around the court in this vs a barricade. Don't worry when I say running shoe, this still has good lateral support which is set toward the mid and rear of the shoe in the form of a reforced polymer band in which the laces loop through and lock you down. Adidas has informed me they have moved toward mid/rear foot support to help give more flexibly/agility in the forefoot, and this certainly delivers. Grip wise, at first they felt all over the show, I think with any new pair you need to take a thin layer of rubber off before they becoming sticky. After a few matches I feel I have a perfect balance between grip and the ability to slide a little on a hard court. A number of people often pick a tennis shoe based on durability, for me it's not really on my list of requirements, I go for comfort first, how it's feels, how it looks and then will it last. I am not best placed to comment on the durability having only worn the shoe for a couple of weeks. So far so good, I have been playing hard and pushing the shoe, there is a thick layer of rubber around the toe box for abrasion protection and mine still look close to new despite me sliding around the court. I am guessing the outsole will last as adidas have used the industry standard in durability, their adiwear6 rubber. Inside the shoe there is an internal sock and sharks tooth lining (that's what I call it) basically it grips the sock to stop your foot sliding around. I think adidas have really upped their game in the comfort category with this shoe and the most recent barricade, so we'll done adidas! I have given this shoe 5 stars, I think it's possibly one of the best shoes on the market aimed at a serious player with a fast game and I can't wait to put them on my feet again. Finally, word of advice, I am usually a UK 10, however the 10.5 fits me perfect. Thanks. ... read more

Stella McCartney Barricade Shoes Trusted Reviews for Fit
July 31 2015

I've never purchased Adidas tennis shoes before; however, from reading all reviews about this new model and how they have improved on certain aspects of the fit, I decided that was enough to go on. Other brands that I was used to wear have been disappointing: rough around the seams at the forefront or the top rubber parts are just digging into your toes. With these main concerns in my mind, I decided to trust the SMC 2015 and give them a try. The promotional price was tempting and the additional 25% online discount was a definite push for this purchase. I needed a large size to fit my wide feet and the length for one of my toes. I could have used a 9 size, but this way, I am guaranteed to bruised toe nails. The Heel part is a little loose when I am running and is seen flopping, but I had to tighten the laces a little. Arch support is nice, which was one of my concerns since I have high arches. I have worn the shoes six times now: practices, lessons, matches: my calluses are disappearing. I usually play four times per week, including competitive matches. I am not crazy about the mint colour as it doesn't match any of my tennis outfits, but I was desperate for new shoes. I see that they now have a new model with yellow and black, now that would be a wonderful combination and suit most clothing colours. Had free shipping and received them withint two days (Ontario address). Bravo! ... read more

Stella McCartney Barricade Shoes Comfortable tennis shoes at last.
July 22 2015

I've played tennis in running shoes for 11 years because tennis shoes always made me feel clumsy and lacking in agility. I have wasted money on shoes I've never worn on court because they inhibited movement. I bought these with trepidation but am absolutely delighted with them. They have the feel of running shoes but are durable enough to withstand the pounding they get on a hard court. They are very comfortable and fit true to size. I feel light and agile and don't even notice that I'm wearing them. I'm tempted to buy more now in case they ever go out of production. At last I look like a preoper tennis player! ... read more

Barricade 5 Classic Shoes Great Looking Shoes
June 27 2015

I have to admit, I dont play tennis. But I do run and the Adidas shoes I have owned in the past are put together very well. Eventually the old running shoes become my beat up walking and errand shoes. But not this time. I treated myself to this good looking shoe and I have to say they are built like a tank. A little stiff, but no pain. I did replace the insoles on all my running shoes with an aftermarket insole and I did so with these shoes too. They look good and feel good on my feet. All I need now are the tennis lessons. ... read more

Barricade 5 Classic Shoes Take a beating
May 20 2015

The Barricade 5 Classic is a fairly heavy and stiff shoe, but loosens up pretty quickly. The best part is - they take a serious beating in stride. After many many uses, they are just as protective and supportive as on day 1. Just like every other tennis shoe, though, the right toe goes long before the rest of the shoe is worn out. I'm still yearning for some kind of "tough-toe" technology. ... read more

Barricade 5 Classic Shoes color difference
May 19 2015

Love the shoe, I'm usually a 9.5, got a 9.0, fit was perfect. Very comfortable, did not feel like wearing a boat or neither was it heavy, which was claimed by other reviews. But the color difference from the picture bothers me so much. I can take a normal orange shoe, but upon receiving the shoe, it was just WOW, it's this very bright neon orange with a tint of bright pink Grapefruit color..... ... read more

Stella McCartney Barricade Shoes Very comfortable shoe
May 01 2015

Compared to the 2014 model of these shoes, I would say it runs 1/2 a size larger. The material inside of the shoes feels softer as well as the outer material since they got rid of the plastic mesh with holes that covered most of the 2014 shoe. It feels like I'm wearing running shoes when I wear them...they are very comfortable. I'm not sure if I don't make as many side to side motions or that I don't notice the stability issue compared to one reviewer...overall if a person can live with the shoe being 1/2 a size larger, I like it more than the 2014 model. ... read more

Barricade Court Wide Shoes Best tennis shoe purchase in YEARS!!
March 07 2015

Played with Stan Smith's then switched to Eli Nastase's which for me were the best tennis shoe I ever used. I only play in adidas tennis shoes (none of the others work for me [tried them all] as I have schlosis which impacts my bending etc. When I could no longer buy the Eli Nastase's I tried some other adidas shoes but they were just not the same. This shoe is great if you don't want to spend over $80 and if you have a high in step and wide feet. I run on air with these shoes and the are very sure footed. Your feet will thank you. I plan to buy five and store them to last the next ten years...., once six thirteen is available again. ... read more

Barricade 5 Classic Shoes A true classic
October 14 2014

I have bought a few pairs of these shoes (black/white and black/solar slime). I think they are the best looking barricades ever made. As is the tradition with all barricade shoes, they are like a tank. They take a beating and still stand up straight; tough outsole, probably the best. There is a lot of room in forefoot area (I have narrow feet) and they are comfortable enough. Here is the only con. I find these shoes not as flexible and comfortable as barricade 7. They are a bit on the stiff side (even after wearing them for a few months). And for those who are curious, these shoes are not micoach compatible. ... read more

Barricade 5 Classic Shoes Never regret to buy the classic V
June 12 2014

The shoes really fits my feet, I don't think it needs the break-in time. However, it may leave an issue of being loosen after playing a couple of matches No comments on the durability since I play tennis twice a week, but it could not be a problem because I have owned other pairs of Adidas shoes without any issues of durability. All in all, the classic model is classic. ... read more
