Would recommend for squats and cleans.

I got to try these shoes for my lift yesterday and immediately after switching out from my home/running shoes into these I felt the stability of these shoes. Did some cleans and squats and these felt amazing. ... read more

Worth every penny

I had to use men's sizing because I am a large women's size that most don't carry (12). I ordered a 10.5 and an 11. I went with the smaller size, they are a little big but the 10s would have been too small. Quality is excellent. I use these for squats only and they are perfect, my feet don't budge when I squat. Best purchase ever. ... read more

Great shoes for squats and similar movements

I have been looking for a new pair of shoes made specifically for squatting. I have been using flat solved shoes for years and wanted to try the raised heels for high bar and front squats. The Powerlift 3 shoes fit the bill for my needs. I like the slight heel raise and how it affects my squat performance. The shoes are well made and fit well but seem to be a bit narrow in the toes. (I wear size 12d and ordered 12d). I have only used them for one front squat training session thus far, so time will tell as far as shoe longevity is concerned. Still, at this point I am very pleased with the Powerlift 3 shoes. I will likely only use these shoes for high bar squats, front squats and similar exercises. ... read more

Better than expected

I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the shoe with the triaxle design that looks like the Star of David, or how the BOA system looks. However the BOA is functionally great being able to dial in tightness and fit, as well as being comfortable. The pitch of the heal is bigger than the adipower, so for those with mobility issues it does help. The style grew on me which to me was the only downside, but the performance and comfort overall are great. The BOA lacing system also has a lifetime guarantee from BOA Tech. ... read more

Good shoe, but a bit larger than expected

So it's been almost a year I've been doing weightlifting, and since there was a nice 40% off Canada day Sale ($135+tax), I decided to treat myself. Coming from the Adidas Adipower, I didn't know exactly what to expect from a different lacing system AND a bigger heel height. One week in, I've had a good feel of the shoe, but I don't know if it can break in more. So the BOA system is very convenient to put on, and in terms of tightness, it's at least equal to the traditional laces and strap. All in all, it's an upgrade in my opinion. Then there's the heel height. This will vary between people because of their body mechanics, but my lifts definitely saw an improvement, with my squat greatly improving and my pulls staying the same (some people get pulled forward). The one issue I've had here (my hypothesis) was that since the heel height is bigger, the horizontal length of my foot is shorter, but the shoe stays the same size. So if you wear say a 9.5 Adipower, get a 9 of this one. It also explains why the shoe isn't as comfortable, because I have to tighten the shoe too much. All in all, it's a good pair of shoes, but I would never pay the absurd price some sites sell these for. ... read more

Uncomfortable, tongue not fully padded and instep strap presses into skin.

Uncomfortable. Tongue is not padded all the way up and you feel the instep strap pressing against your foot when the ankle is fully flexed. The tongue is made from a plastic mesh and has neoprene padding underneath. The neoprene padding does not extend all the way up the tongue. So there is no padding where the edge of the instep strap meets the top of your foot. The lace system is lousy. Aside from the tongue and laces it does the job but I'm not satisfied with the $$ i spent. ... read more

Worth every penny!

Comfy and easy to wear. Worth the money. Not sure if it's purely psychological but my squat has improved no end since I've had these shoes with a substantial increase in the weight I lift, and now that I can get proper placement on the floor with my heels I have discovered "leg drive" and my bench press technique has also improved. Happy customer. Definitely recommend. ... read more

First pair of lifters, was worried about the comfort but they feel great. Superbly made and great stability. Would recommend. I'm anything from a uk7-uk8 so sizing is difficult, I went for a 7.5 but probably could have done with an 8 for a little more room length wise. ... read more

Powerlifter's most needed item!

I thought I'd give these a go after hearing rave reviews from over lifters and as an upgrade from my Power Perfects. I think these look a lot nicer than the other lifting shoes Addidas stock. Also, the good fit means I definitely feel more stable when I lift, and the heel height is just right to maximise my squat potential over flat shoes/bare feet. If you are a oly/powerlifter and can afford these, you must invest! ... read more

If your new to squatting buy these!!

Very good shoe, have never used weight lifting shoes before and they make a big difference to my squat, would definitely recommend to anyone new to squatting. Definitely makes a difference

First ever weightlifting shoe and it definitely makes a difference. Great all-round shoe, expect it to last a while. I take womens size 7 in a normal shoe so I bought mens size 5 and that was spot on - people say to go 1 to 1.5 sizes smaller but that would've been too big for me. ... read more

Excellent for any weightlifting endeavours

I'm 5'9" tall, 185 lbs, medium build, and I wear size 10.5 for normal shoes, so I decided to buy 10.5 in these Adipowers. Weightlifting shoes are not meant to provide the cushioning and comfort at the level of flip-flops, Nike Roshes, and whatever other shoes are out there today. These are weightlifting shoes. These fit snug around all sides of my feet, which is better than having a weightlifting shoe that is not snug or leaves too much room. I have slightly wide feet, so sometimes I require the wider version of some shoes if they are available. In terms of width, the 10.5 sized Adipowers fit me just right. Had I gone up a size, to 11, it would definitely be more comfortable, but I would have been left with too much room on all sides to spare, which would not be beneficial for stability and safety reasons. However, tightening the straps and laces excessively sometimes causes me some discomfort during lengthy workouts. This may be because I have to wear in the shoe some more since I've only had them for a month. Then again, tightening any shoe too much cuts of circulation to the foot. Anyway, lengthwise, these Adipowers leave me with about an inch of space in the toe box, which is optimal for the splaying of the feet during movement. Quality-wise, I think the quality of these weightlifting shoes are worth the price you pay for them. They will last years if you don't abuse them, but I've known many friends that have the old red ones and the Adistars, and they've held up nicely over the years. Overall, I would highly recommend this product! ... read more

Good stuff

Nice Shoes. In the beginning I wasn't sure on the sizing. I tried on a pair of Adidas running shoes and ordered off of that. First putting them on it was tight and I did not think they were the right size. After lacing them up and strapping in they felt great. They were comfortable and fit perfct. Lifting: Awesome. During squats I felt like my feet were in conrete and stable. Helped me squat a little deeper, it felt comfortable and stable. Would highly recomend. ... read more

I have incorporated squats into my leg workout every week but my technique has always suffered. So far - great shoe

I've only had a few work outs in them but so far they are fitting and working great. No issues with manufacture can be found, no loose threads or mis-aligned parts. I wear a US 11D and these fit me very well. As you expect, these are Very Supportive from heal to ball of foot but do allow comfortable flex at the ball of the foot for OLY lifting. ... read more

Excellent shoe, fair price

I have read it runs narrow, and did notice this a bit in the toe box, but not for long. Once I wore it around and tightened the strap around the back of the foot, it no longer felt tight, but rather secure. I use it primarily for squats and overhead press, and it's fantastic. I can walk around the gym fairly comfortably, it's stable and non-compressible, without being too heavy. I haven't tried the Romaleos, but am very satisfied with this shoe. ... read more
