Rated 3 out of 5Â by cjrx Subtle Difference from Prior Model
I like that Adidas has made these lighter while retaining many of my favorite features of this shoe. When I was in grad school, I bought a pair of Estes (they may have been trail runners) on sale and then another pair before they were discontinued. Either Adidas or a running shop recommended the Supernova as a good replacement and I have been wearing these, buying new every 3-5 months, since the early-mid 2000s. I bought a pair of 4s in early 2012 and had problems with the shoe causing pain to my inner ankles - probably only a few mm difference, yet enough to affect my gait. With the new color scheme, I thought maybe Adidas corrected what a few other reviewers also mentioned, yet the overall design is unchanged. Sadly, I need to return the recent 4s and will wait for version 5 while trying other Adidas models to attempt to stay brand-loyal. The Marathon 10s are decent, yet I miss the forefoot cushion of the Supernova.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by MilwaukeeGirl Time to leave Adidas
I've been lucky to run injury-free for over 10 yrs in my Adidas Supernovas. I guess I have a medium-high arch and slightly pronate. (I just know I liked the snug arch fit & predictability of this shoe and never suffered from plantar fasciitis that's plagued everyone I know.) My last pair was the Adapt (aptly named) and worked well. This Glide 4 felt great initially but the "collar" is too thick & irritates the outside of the ankle bone (lateral malleolus). I thought it might improve with more gradual breaking in -- but no. So time for me to transition from "Adapt" to "Surrender" and leave Adidas for the great unknown...

I bought these shoes primarily for the gym. I wanted a light pair of shoes with minimal padding and good support. These shoes are perfect! So comfortable! The toe box is roomy so my toes don't feel cramped and these shoes lace up to provide a snug fit mid-foot and into the heel. Good support for weight training and cardio from a very light shoe.
I ordered these in black with the hot pink trim at the heel. Just the right amount of color! I really like the look of these and I get compliments every time I wear them.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by fastinista Please don't stop making these
I have bought these shoes for years, ADIDAS has done variations of these shoes and I now am running in the Supernova Glide. I went a year without these shoes and tried other brands for a year (because the running store stopped carrying them) and my running went south this past year (injuries and tightness). I recently reunited myself with the shoe (the running store carries them again, and addidas has ok colors now), I am loving my runs again... much like I used to run!!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Gisella This is great. Really comfortable. I can fully stretch my toes in the shoes. I have pronation, but I can walk all day long in this shoes without pain.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Georgia Runner Always loyal to Adidas, until now
So disappointed in this shoe. I have ran in Adidas for years and this shoe is the worst I have ever encountered. The support is minimal and the show itself is just plain uncomfortable. It required "breaking in", which I have never had to do with other pairs of Adidas. After only 3 months of wear, running 2-3 times per week, the shoe was worn out and coming apart. I expect more from Adidas, especially at this price point.

I purchased a pair of Supernova Glides in December 2011; they are grey with green neon laces. I'm not sure if they are the 4 or 5, but I am sure that they are the most comfortable running shoes I've had in several years. They aren't bulky, and I wear hard arch supports in them. Cushioning is above average with more than enough to fend off the pavement and give a decent push-off. I've logged about 400 miles in them and judging by the worn soles, I need a new pair. They are still a very comfortable pair of running shoes.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Laurra Worst shoe ever
I run just about every day for 4 miles. I've had my fair share of running shoes so I decided to try Adidas...THESE ARE THE WORST. I had blisters EVERY time I ran. By the time I ran 2 miles, my feet would be bleeding. I can never finish my run because I will end up in so much pain. I have never disliked a shoe more.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by windove Very disappointed
I have been a supernova fan for years...usually buying 2 pair at a time. Store was out & I was told there was only 1 pair available(Glide 4s) in the warehouse, so I ordered. I am VERY disappointed in the comfort. Previous models were wonderfully comfortable, & I loved the "cushy" insoles. These new shoes are hard as cardboard inside. I walk many miles a day, but after 3 weeks in these shoes, I am going shopping. Sorry, I love Adidas, but these are a big disappointment.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Actual Running ShoeReview Pros:
- Great space in the toe box for toes to splay and spread comfortably.
-Midfoot overlays are great and don't feel too loose or sloppy.
-The ride is fantastic. Great cushioning, yet feels a little firmer than what I'm typically running in. But this is fine because it feels like I have something to explode off of every footstep.
-Transition through the gait cycle is smooth and natural feeling. the heel counter isn't clunky at all.
Cons:
-The heel counter took a couple runs to get use to. feels a little slippy if you don't tie your shoes just right. but its not a big deal, people freak out way too easily if there is any hint of the slightest movement in the heel. (wear technical fabric socks people and maybe its time to move away from no shows ;) )
-sometimes small twigs get stuck in that formotion heel counter piece. but that isn't a big deal.
Overall this shoe is excellent. Would recommend it to any neutral runner who is wanting a fast feeling, smooth ride from Adidas. 4.45/5

I've been wearing addias running shoes for almost 20 years. Reason: they have a high arch support which I need and a wide forefoot which I also need. This particular pair was very comfortable. Addias is particularly a good brand for me because there is no seam near the "bunion area", which can cause discomfort. The laces were long enough ( a recent problem with addias shoes) in this pair.

SuperNovaGlide 4 is a great shoe. Get compliments on vivid colorations. Comforable right out of the box and have been so impressed that this is my 2nd pair. And I am a long time Nike customer.
But, be careful--SuperNova 5 is getting very bad reviews on comfort and fit. Search out the last of the SuperNova Glide 4.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by MaryHG Ruined a great running shoe
I've run in the supernovas for 8+ years and have loved them until the 5. There is very little forefront cushioning and the arch support is minimal as compared. I have suffered with knee and shin pain since wearing these. Please go back to the original design.

I am a 60 yr old 150 lb male. I bought this shoe at my local running store. I really like it and decided to check it out online. I didn't know it was a womans shoe. LOL I wonder what the difference is. Anyway I completed my 25th River Run (15K) in it.
