I was planning on buying the GSG9.2 boots based on great reviews, but really didn't want the tall. I had checked a couple of weeks ago (Early May, 2012), and noticed the desert boots, but at the time they were only in tan. I needed black because I am in law enforcement. I checked again at the end of May and saw they now came in black as well. I received them fast and have been using them for several days now. They are by far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn, and that's seven years in the army and 12 years in law enforcement talking. I usually wear inserts, but with these boots I didn't need to. I highly recommend them.
The reviewers from January 2015 must not be writing about this model of the Kanadia shoe: The TR 7 runs at least a 1/2-size too big (or, if you're a Kanadia fan, that's a full size larger than older Kanadia models). I've tried/exchanged five pairs among myself and my family now. I wear a 9-1/2 in the old Kanadia models, looks like a 8-1/2 fits the best (the 9 still seemed large). Your experience may vary.
I am a Kanadia trail shoe fan, they are excellent for running on mixed surfaces and provide great support and comfort. These Kanadia 7 are my latest purchase after having used several pairs of 2 and 5's. Although I can fit in some size 9 trainers I have found the Adidas size 10 works best for me as they can be a little tight fitting in a 9. I have no reservations in recommending these shoes, especially for running on mixed surfaces including muddy trails.
These have to be the most comfortable boots I think I have ever worn. Being in the military I am all too familiar with all different kinds of boots, these take the cake. I originally bought the black ones for my civilian job as private security but after wearing these boots I recently just ordered the tan ones so I can be comfortable even on duty with the military! I would highly recommend these boots to anyone and everyone.
Bought these Kanadia7's and so far i am very happy, firstly they have more cushioning so they are not as harsh as the Kanadia6's , Mesh upper allows the foot to breathe, the midsole is now 1 piece no cutouts for the mud and water to penetrate, the outsole i like a lot due to the increase in lug size and layout with the addition of the rubber teeth on the front of the shoe and the back inspires confidence going up and down slippery slopes. They are nice and light and the mudguard feature stops water creeping in on wet grass or shallow mud. I would add that because the inner footbed is combined with the shoe it provides a flatter platform which allows a wider area inside the shoe which to some runners might feel a bit wide and not the snug fit of the 6's but i have found no problem personally but some runners again might actually go for their original size unlike the 6's which was a automatic size up for me, hope this helps and i am sure you will not be dissapointed with these shoes.
I have owned a number of Kanadias over the years. I recently purchased the TR7s after wearing out my TR5s. The TR5s never seemed to fit or break in just right, so I was sceptical about giving the 7s a try. That being said, I took them out on a long run this morning with lots of loose rock, and steep terrain, and was very impressed. The toe box is wider, and there is minimal heel rise, giving this a more minimal feel. They are just the right amount of lightness with decent support. I recommend these shoes to everyone.
I work as a corrections officer, and I walk a lot during my shift, and these boots are perfect for that, very light and comfortable, my feet don't hurt at all after a 12 hour shift. I even wear them off duty, they look great! I have some friends who serve in special forces, and they are also very satisfied how this boot performs. I thought that I would bust them in 2 months, because I have wide feet and I weigh 115 kgs, but they handled all of that extremely well, after 6 months, they look brand new. The grip is fantastic on all surfaces! They are waterproof, I wore them in soaking rain all day, and my feet stayed dry, which is truly amazing! The only downside is that the leather on the toebox is really thin and you cen see the contours of your toes, and also the heel area could be stiffer for the support. Anyway, I would recommend this product to those who seek a comfortable, light, good looking and durable boot.
After hammering my Kanadia TR5's for 2 seasons, I decided to go for the new TR7's I seen advertised on the Adidas website. Sizing is better on the 7's. I'm always a 10 in Adidas but my TR5's were 11's and my new TR7's are 10.5's. Sleeker, less chunkier design on the TR7's also. The Kanadia's always give me ample traction through mud, on slippery ascents and descents. Not the most expensive Trail Shoes about but good value for money in my opinion.
I just ordered my second pair of these boots. I placed the order Wednesday morning at 0230 and received them Friday morning at 1130, so as you can see fast delivery (owe and it was free delivery not express). They fit perfect just like the first pair did. The first pair I have had about a year and half. The only reason I ordered a new pair was because I would lose my boot reimbursement if I did use it. These are the best boots I have ever had, they fit my feet perfect. I have tried numerous different types and have not found any like these. .
There is a design flaw in the loops for the laces. They are not reinforced and keep breaking. I am almost ready to return the second pair. Want to wear these every night to work but I cannot if they're not laced up. Quality Control, can you do something to help? Please email me if I can be of any assistance!
I was a little skeptical about paying so much for a pair of shoes but I have to say that they are worth the money. I am a correctional officer and I spend all day on my feet, these shoes are light and provide great support to my feet as I walk or run. I would highly recommend them to anyone who spends their day on their feet....
I've had a pair of these for a few months now and have been really impressed with the comfort of them. They're sized maybe a tiny bit narrower than a typical trainer would feel but are a lot sturdier, the leather seems thick and hard wearing and takes a while to break in. The only thing I don't like is that the lacing towards the top of the shoes doesn't seem to pull together smoothly, I think the eyelets are too narrow or close together and it can take a while to get them laced up "just right". That said, once it is "just right" you can wear them all day,
Disclaimer: I have foot problems and my feet tend to hurt. The shoes are well ventilated, and that is what I wanted. However, there is very little cushioning for the bottom of the foot. There are little holes in the bottom, which I like because it helps to ventilate the shoe and keep your foot cooler. However, the little holes hurt a little bit when your foot presses down - as for instance when you walk. I'm still keeping an open mind. I may up liking this shoe in the end. I think it's a great idea, personally. The way they have ventilated the shoe, that is. And I caught the shoes on sale, so the price was certainly reasonable. I'd be interested to read other reviews of this shoe to see what others think.
The shoe is light but feels rugged. The construction is really good, so I doubt it'll come apart any time soon. (I've worn it for a few weeks now, and so far no sign of wear on it.) It doesn't have the type of cushioning you get from running shoes, but it's not supposed to. It's great for it's primary purpose, which is as a hiking shoe. (Don't use it for sports or training at the gym.) As for fit, the length of the shoe was just right for me. The width is slightly on the wide side, but that's better than being slightly on the narrow side. My feet are not too wide, though, so maybe the width is fine for the average person.
Bought these for trail running. No regrets! I have a wide foot and these fit perfect. Normally wear size 11. But, after reading reviews I ordered 1/2 size down. Perfect fit! Thank you Adidas for another quality product.
