Terrex Fast X GTX Shoes
Great shoes, the speed lace system is impossible to find in ANY stores if you have to replace it. You have to contact the company that makes the shoes for Adidas. This company is AGRON and the number is 1-800-966-7697. They were very good to work with and sent a replacement lace system out free of charge.

Absolutely the best hiking shoe I ever owned. Came from the Merrel brand, needed something less sneaker like, but not a full blown hiking shoe with all the clunkyness. This thing feels perfect the minute you put in on, no breaking in necessary. Good job Adidas!

bring it on
I purchased these shoes after having a entry level trail shoe made by Adidas. Loved the previous shoe, it preformed flawlessly. Only drawback to the shoes is they run narrow in the toe box. I bought them for work. I am a garbage man. I have had them all. Danner, Columbia, Timberland, ect. $250 boots that last 6 months and fail at being waterproof almost instantly. This shoe has a toe guard and Gore-Tex. I wore the soles off the previous shoes without my feet ever getting wet. This shoe is pretty stiff, with great support. I love the true orthotic insole, it helps me fight fatigue since I am on my feet for 7 hours.

Great hiking shoe
I just completed my thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. I purchased the Terrex Fast X as a replacement shoe in Daleville, VA and finished my journey with them on Mt Katahdin. Great shoe excellent grip on rocks and dry quickly after becoming wet. I would highly recommend this shoe. I will be wearing them on the PCT next summer.

Stiched seam in upper digs into side of forefoot
I looked at a lot of different hiking shoes and boots over the last several months. My goal was to find the best, highest quality lightweight hiking shoe/boot on the market. Price was not an issue. I was willing to pay top dollar for a hiking shoe/boot that would allow me to comfortably hike and/or light backpack 20 miles a day, day after day.
I've been wearing Adidas footwear for 40 years - Always liked their running shoes and soccer shoes. I currently own a pair of Sequence running shoes that are extremely well made and very comfortable. When I discovered Adidas also had a light weight waterproof hiking shoe, the Terrex FastX GTX, I couldn't wait to buy a pair and hit the trail.
Well, yesterday my wait was over when I laced-up my new Adidas Terrex FastX GTX shoes and hit the trails at Clifton Gorge and John Bryan State Park. I was elated my first six miles as I scampered over trails in and out of the gorge. But my elation soon turned to concern when I started feeling pain on the right side of my right foot - about an inch from my little toe.
I took off the shoe and discovered that the stitched seam on the textile upper was digging into the side of my forefoot, about an inch from my little toe. I can stick my hand inside the shoe and feel the protruding stitched seam, but can't get to it because of the Gortex lining. I also discovered my left foot is sore in the same place and for the same reason. It's just not as bad as the right shoe.
My poor rating of this shoe is due to the seam stitching issue. I'm going to contact Adidas to see if this can be fixed. If not I will try to return them for a refund.

Excellent for those who wear orthodics.
I own a pair in black and now I'm buying a pair in green. Great toe protection and solid heel cup. This shoe keeps your foot comfortable and and tight, no foot play.
