I had to use men's sizing because I am a large women's size that most don't carry (12). I ordered a 10.5 and an 11. I went with the smaller size, they are a little big but the 10s would have been too small. Quality is excellent. I use these for squats only and they are perfect, my feet don't budge when I squat. Best purchase ever.
I have been looking for a new pair of shoes made specifically for squatting. I have been using flat solved shoes for years and wanted to try the raised heels for high bar and front squats. The Powerlift 3 shoes fit the bill for my needs. I like the slight heel raise and how it affects my squat performance. The shoes are well made and fit well but seem to be a bit narrow in the toes. (I wear size 12d and ordered 12d). I have only used them for one front squat training session thus far, so time will tell as far as shoe longevity is concerned. Still, at this point I am very pleased with the Powerlift 3 shoes. I will likely only use these shoes for high bar squats, front squats and similar exercises.
Good fit, I took the advice and ordered a full size bigger but could have got away with just a half size, no width issues and I'm a very wide 9. Stable and secure on the platform-no slipping or sliding, surprisingly comfortable from the off. Near unbeatable value in the sale @ £52.50. I bought the green ones and they are a lot, lot greener than the photo suggests but personally I love it-nice to get away from the usual "blokey" blacks, reds, and whites. Took a little longer to arrive than expected and not sure of the need for a box within a box-just a lot of extra packaging to dispose of. I would definitely recommend a pair.
I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the shoe with the triaxle design that looks like the Star of David, or how the BOA system looks. However the BOA is functionally great being able to dial in tightness and fit, as well as being comfortable. The pitch of the heal is bigger than the adipower, so for those with mobility issues it does help. The style grew on me which to me was the only downside, but the performance and comfort overall are great. The BOA lacing system also has a lifetime guarantee from BOA Tech.
So it's been almost a year I've been doing weightlifting, and since there was a nice 40% off Canada day Sale ($135+tax), I decided to treat myself. Coming from the Adidas Adipower, I didn't know exactly what to expect from a different lacing system AND a bigger heel height. One week in, I've had a good feel of the shoe, but I don't know if it can break in more. So the BOA system is very convenient to put on, and in terms of tightness, it's at least equal to the traditional laces and strap. All in all, it's an upgrade in my opinion. Then there's the heel height. This will vary between people because of their body mechanics, but my lifts definitely saw an improvement, with my squat greatly improving and my pulls staying the same (some people get pulled forward). The one issue I've had here (my hypothesis) was that since the heel height is bigger, the horizontal length of my foot is shorter, but the shoe stays the same size. So if you wear say a 9.5 Adipower, get a 9 of this one. It also explains why the shoe isn't as comfortable, because I have to tighten the shoe too much. All in all, it's a good pair of shoes, but I would never pay the absurd price some sites sell these for.
This is my second pair of these lifters. Adidas has always fit my foot well and I have never had quality issues. And I love that I was able to get these customized with my name on the heel. Even with the customization they arrived in s week !!
Bought these shoes as new to lifting and didn't want to spend too much incase I didn't get use out of them. Really good value and comfortable. Good quality won't need to buy another pair for a few years
The shoe was a bit tight the first few times I wore them but eventually stretched out. I'm really impressed with the support they give when squatting. My feet feel more connected to the floor and stable. Oh and I get a ton of compliments on the shoe from my gym buddies. Been asked ton of time where I got them LOL. Good purchase!
Product was very high quality and exactly what I was expecting in terms of looks and comfort. Very effective weightlifting shoes and I recommend for any first time or regular Olympic weight lifters or crossfitter.
Great shoes. Noticed much better stability in my squats. Works well for all compounds. Granted my squats are still quite low compared to lots of vets, when I reach much higher weights I may move away from these shoes.
I've always use flat shoes to squat and decided to get these powerlifting shoes since now I'm starting to squat heavier. It's a great investment if you're looking to make gainz. Make sure to buy half a size down then your regular size.
I've only used these a few times since I got but I must say already they've made my squats better. I love the shoes. Definitely a must have. I have to get used to keeping them on longer but for now I only use it for legs workout and deadlifts. Maybe I'll get used to it
First pair of lifting shoes and these are great. A little strange to get used to at first but once you tell yourself they are just for lifting they are true quality. Not ideal for anything else but lifting.
Uncomfortable. Tongue is not padded all the way up and you feel the instep strap pressing against your foot when the ankle is fully flexed. The tongue is made from a plastic mesh and has neoprene padding underneath. The neoprene padding does not extend all the way up the tongue. So there is no padding where the edge of the instep strap meets the top of your foot. The lace system is lousy. Aside from the tongue and laces it does the job but I'm not satisfied with the $$ i spent.
Why you like the product or why not? The fit is perfect and very comfortable, the style is very unique and very different from the every day running shoe. The quality is excellent and it supports my feet very well. I love the shoe so much am planning to buy the white one.
These shoes are a must for beginners and intermediates who squat or do strength/bodybuilding training regularly. Added 10kg to my squat instantly with better form and now my flexibility in my lower body is exponentially better. Highly recommended.
These shoes are everything is hoped for and more. I'd wanted them for ages and just never got round to actually purchasing them. There incredible, straight away when using them, I noticed a massive difference. Adidas's Find Your True Fit I have to say, is incredible and got my true fit for the products I purchased spot on.
Excellent weight distribution through the foot when olympic lifting, lighter than the previous model. Extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend for anyone who wants to improve their lifting capabilities.
Bit of a delay in delivery but delighted when they arrived. Fit perfectly and very comfortable. Provided great stability when squating and feel they gave me a solid base in everything I do at the gym.
Comfy and easy to wear. Worth the money. Not sure if it's purely psychological but my squat has improved no end since I've had these shoes with a substantial increase in the weight I lift, and now that I can get proper placement on the floor with my heels I have discovered "leg drive" and my bench press technique has also improved. Happy customer. Definitely recommend.
I'm originally a UK size 8. I bought a size 8 but it was too small and tight. I bought a size 8.5 but it was still too small and tight. I'm now waiting on a size 9 to be delivered. Hopefully they will fit. I do have broad feet so perhaps that may be the reason to the discomfort, however I do have size 8 adidas gazelles which fit perfectly.
I pondered what shoes I wanted to buy for a fairly long time. these seemed to be a god middle ground between price/performance and I liked how they looked. Pros: -comfy nice and tight along the outer/upper side of your foot making feel really secure. -really solid grip on the floor -I personally really liked how they looked cons: the ONLY issue and this was the deal breaker with these shoes is when I was doing some 270lb+ squats (200lb body weight) they were squishing under my feet. my girlfriend thought my heels were coming off the floor it was bending so much. if you're lifting lighter these are really nice shoes and I like them. but If I can't squat in them what's the point.
First pair of lifters, was worried about the comfort but they feel great. Superbly made and great stability. Would recommend. I'm anything from a uk7-uk8 so sizing is difficult, I went for a 7.5 but probably could have done with an 8 for a little more room length wise.
I believed all the other reviews that said to size down at least a half size and in some reviews they said a full size. A lot of people seem to think that these shoes are sized like men's and that is why people are sizing down but that's wrong. They are NOT men's sizes. I am normally an 8 or 8 1/2. I didn't know what to do since I'm different sizes in different brands or shoe types and the reviews were very convincing to go down. I ended up buying a 7 1/2. I could barely get my foot in the shoe, they were really small and tight. I own some Adidas trainers and they are 8 1/2, I should have just disregarded all the reviews and gotten the same size as my trainers. I'm going to try that and will leave another review when they come and I've tried them out.
I thought I'd give these a go after hearing rave reviews from over lifters and as an upgrade from my Power Perfects. I think these look a lot nicer than the other lifting shoes Addidas stock. Also, the good fit means I definitely feel more stable when I lift, and the heel height is just right to maximise my squat potential over flat shoes/bare feet. If you are a oly/powerlifter and can afford these, you must invest!
