I was planning on buying the GSG9.2 boots based on great reviews, but really didn't want the tall. I had checked a couple of weeks ago (Early May, 2012), and noticed the desert boots, but at the time they were only in tan. I needed black because I am in law enforcement. I checked again at the end of May and saw they now came in black as well. I received them fast and have been using them for several days now. They are by far the most comfortable boot I have ever worn, and that's seven years in the army and 12 years in law enforcement talking. I usually wear inserts, but with these boots I didn't need to. I highly recommend them.
It's Thursday evening, I'm sitting in my room and have just ordered these shoes, i'm excited. I go on about my business and the only downside with the whole experience was it took longer than their 3-5 working days delivery estimation. I understand this is an estimation, however I came home from work everyday only to be disappointed it hadn't arrived. But, finally they arrived. I tore through the packaging like a raging bear through the wilderness chasing it's prey. Then Bam, I hit bedrock. There they were in all their beauty and splender. I instantly strapped them to my feet and air squatted til I couldn't no more. ( Good thing is these shoes just make you want to squat. ) I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to weightlifting shoes, but these puppies were nice, especially for what I want to use them for, which is why I didn't splash out a little more for a more expensive pair. They feel solid, but you can still walk around in them, without looking suspicious. They feel great wearing them, I purchased a size 11, however a friend of mine let me try on his 10's and whilst they felt tighter, I probably couldn't have squeezed into those for my particular sessions. And so for long term use, I thought I would go for 11's just to be comfortable - but that's not saying i'm walking around in a pair of slippers, these puppies still feel good. That leads me into my first workout with them, I decided we'll put them to the test with power cleans. They instantly felt good. I don't know if it was the shoes, or the excitement the shoes brought, but I managed a new PB in both cleans and front squats. I was like you, who I probably imagine are trolling through the comments section because you really want to buy a pair but you're just not sure if you should pay splash out the dolla, so you're looking for someone to convince you. Do it. These shoes are perfect for the keen, enthusiastic gym goer, like myself, who is messing around a lot with power movements and Olympic lifts. In saying that, I'm not throwing around massive numbers, or squatting with big big weight myself. But Put it this way, if you squat, clean, or snatch - get these shoes. Many people will tell you that they aren't necessary, and that it's all about your form, not your gear. Whilst I completely agree with the form statement, doing those particular movements in a pair of running shoes, defeats the whole purpose. Running shoes are designed to absorb impact and absorb pressure. If you're trying to rip a bar to your shoulders you want all of the power you're generating to go straight to a solid surface. And as far as the barefoot argument goes, you'll be able to stay more upright with a bar on your back/shoulders and sit into the squat more if you're heels are risen slightly above your toes, than you would if you're foot is flat. The people who really want to get you down are the people who couldn't justify the purchase and/or have the money, they will tell you well it's false gains etc, help from gear. At this moment you should just leave their company as they talk absolute madness. Just because you put these shoes on doesn't mean you're going to hit serious numbers, let's get that'l straight, but like the title suggests, they promote better form, which in turn will help you hit bigger numbers. As I say, I'm no expert. But if you're toying with the idea, if I was you, ( which I was ) I would give them a go. Happy lifting x
Nice shoe. I have been using them happily for squats, OHP, and deficit DLs. They are comfortable, stable (although I am only 125lb so not squatting massive numbers), light in my gym bag, economical, and even get compliments for their appearance. A note on size for any other gals purchasing this shoe: I'm a woman's size 8 and got men's size 6.5 as recommended on a lifting forum and they fit like a glove. The men's size 7 which I "should" be per the sizing chart would definitely have been too large.
Obvious negative, you better not be in a rush when entering or exiting this boot. It's a long process. That's about it for negatives. On the plus side they are the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever worn. I've been driving manual trans. cars for 15 years, and never felt comfortable wearing winter boots cause they don't allow ankle articulation. But these are amazing, I can run comfortably, bend low to the ground to pick-up/play with my son, and very comfortable when working the clutch on my car during aggressive driving. (haven't worn boots in years cause of this, never got used to it I guess) Would easily get 5 stars if they were easier to get on/off. Also I would suggest a half size larger than your normal. I usually float between a 10 and 10.5, so I bought in 10.5 and it's a little snug, but I feel 11 would have been slightly to big. Hope this helps. Cheers
I bought these shoes because I started with a personal trainer recently. For the first few sessions I was working out in running shoes, but they did provide the support that I needed. These provide excellent lateral support and are great for stability workouts.
I have owned 6 pairs of the GSG9's over the past 4 years. You may see this as a negative, but I wear my boots everyday, 12 to 15 hours a day. Working as a police officer the boats have out performed any boot I have previously owned. I have always worn Addias, and I love the way they fit so when I went looking for an alternative to the brands I had previously been wearing I discovered these on the website. My first pair, on the first day, shocked me. They felt prebroke in, without the stiff resistenace I was used too. I got into a foot chase later that evening and scaled a wall with ease; and I mean ease. The grip was wonderful and the performance was nearly like a tennis shoe. Yes, I caught him. The wear and tear of the boot is excellant, but they breakdown like any boot would over continuous hard use. They remain confortable though, even with the abuse I put them through. The pair I am wearing right now, as I type, are beat up and in desperate need of a fire :) Hence my being on this site. If you are looking for a new pair of boots and wonder if these will do the job, trust me they have and they will. They are light, wear well, grip excellant and well they look great while your doing it. I hunt, hike, work in these boots. Take care!
For the last 6 months, I've been borrowing a pair of the older Adidas Powerlift shoes from my coach for lifts at the gym (cleans, snatch, front/back squats, presses). It was time to get my own. I went with the Powerlift 2.0 based on the reviews of others and the price was right for my budget. The biggest thing I noticed right away doing squats was the solid footing it gave me. I really liked the feel and felt like I was able to press though the heels effectively. I wear a size 11 in everyday shoes, but ordered a 11 1/2 in the Powerlift shoes and they fit well. I wold definitely recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a good lifting shoe.
Just as you would expect from Adidas, this shoe is very comfortable. After going from running shoes to these I feel WAY more stable doing squats and deads. The fit is just right and I have somewhat wide feet. I really feel grounded when doing squats now. The heel wedge height feels just right. Since I work out at home on rubber flooring these babies will never leave the house and should last a long time as they feel to be very well constructed. By the way, I bought the red, white, and blue color scheme and they look great! If I did go to a gym I'm sure they'd be noticed :)
Great pair of boots! The treads are amazing! They go through water, snow, and mud with ease. The boot are the lightest I've put on. They feel like soccer cleats. Usually theres foot fatigue when I wear shoes or boots for long periods of time but not with these. I've walked for hours in several feet of snow and my feet didn't get tired or wet. They kept me warm in the cold and are still breathable. Adidas did a great job with the CLIMAPROOF membrane very similar to Gore-Tex. It would be nice to see ADITUFF in the toe area becasue you can easily scratch the leather. Also like to see FORMORTION in the heel. Otherwise great job adidas!
Heard about these from the Lone Survivor novel, where the author/SEAL uses and greatly recommends them. Bought a pair as I'm going through an extended period of law enforcement training for several months. Been a few weeks and I can say they're durable so far, very comfortable, supportive yet flexible, and look nice and professional. The grip is exactly how it should be. Brings each step where it should be while keeping sure footing and not sticking. The instructors even knew this boot by name and positive reputation amongst LEO's in our area. A great investment for light/heavy training days.
I've been on the search for a good dance fitness sneaker for a while. I'm a Zumba instructor, so finding a shoe that supports me well while also giving me enough flexibility to move all over the room is really important. Zumba did just release new sneakers, but I wanted to wait & see how everyone liked those first, before purchasing them. In the meantime, I was in desperate need for new shoes, and I've always heard good things about Adidas, so I decided to look. These shoes are lightweight, sturdy (around the ankle), flexible in the arch, and have the perfect amount of traction so you can move, but not slip everywhere. I've taught and danced in 4-5 classes so far, and they've been great! My ONLY wish is that there were more color options, but for now I went with the black/sparkly, which works fine for now! **I'd recommend ordering a half size smaller. I'm typically a 7.5 so I ordered a 7 and that worked well! I like my shoes to feel a bit snug while I'm dancing, and these fit me well when I tie them tightly enough. I'd still even consider them a TAD bit large...so order accordingly.
I tried on their older slides at my friends house its the reason i decided to buy these but the older ones were a lot more spongy and comfortable they seamed to have more of the fit foam. But these are still very comfortable, bought these for a trip im taking and will come in handy when walking through the big resort. I use them at home when cooking, when doing a lot of standing, your feet don't get as tired as they would bare foot, you can stand comfortably for hours and this is the reason i bought them so i would defiantly vouch for these slippers, but I hope they go back to their old cushioning standard.
I was given a pair of the Superstars, as a gift, about 5 years ago. These have became my every day "relaxing shoes". Upon returning from a day's work wearing leather business shoes, nothing feels better, then when I slip on my Adidas Superstars! I know they can be worn anywhere but I like to keep them especially clean for wearing around the house. Well, after years of pleasure (and still just as comfortable), I asked for a new pair for my birthday. I'm wearing them right now, as I write this review. And let me tell you, they're just as slamming comfortable as my first pair, which I now wear outside! Thank you Adidas, for maintaining the same model/style and quality in your sandal.
I've been using running shoes with Boost foam in them for 2 years, and hoped that they would be just as good in this pair of shoes. I've used these shoes for about 2 weeks in cardio step and kickboxing exercises, and I hardly feel a thing. I'm glad to see they were worth the money. My only complaint is the very small number of color selections (Black/Blue or Yellow/Gray).
I bought these for my fiance as a Christmas present. I took a chance & ordered these ones as they were half the price of others online. My fiancé is a bodybuilder & considering how cheap they are compared to others online - he absuloutly loves these shoes! They're not suitable to walk in (not even to the gym) unless you want to wear down the heel. The heel is a great advantage (so he tells me) as it gives you stability & firmness when deadlifting. By far the best present I could've ever got him. Great quality, very comfy, red/black looks great, excellent customer services & fast delivery. Very good value for money & NOT a cheap quality product.
