I had such high expectations about this shoe, after a .5 change in size for being too narrow, I switched to 11, used it once and now I am unfortunately unable to return. I own another 3 pair of Boosts and this is the most uncomfortable by far, the arch pain the inner plastic body of the shoe causes makes this unwearable. 180 dollars down the drain.
They came in quick when I needed it, and when I ordered the wrong size, the return was quick and easy and I got the right size in 2 days. Fit great and look better than expected. Definitely go a size bigger if you are doubting yourself. Nice job ADIDAS.
The purpose of this appraisal is to evaluate the Adidas Ultra Boost running shoe based on three criteria. These criteria include comfort, durability, and performance. With the latest technology integrated into their product, Adidas claims that the Ultra Boost is currently the best running shoe on the market. Therefore, the targeted market for this product is frequent runners (~30 miles per week). Comfort When looking for a running shoe, comfort is my main priority. I define comfort as the ability to go on a 10 mile run without feeling any discomfort. The Adidas Ultra Boost integrates one of its newest technologies, Boost, into the sole of the shoe. The Boost sole literally feels like you’re walking on a cloud. It is extremely responsive and you feel the material squish with every step. This helps to minimize the negative impact that running has on your joints. Unfortunately, I did notice that the shoe fits very narrow. If you are someone with wider feet, you might want to find a wider shoe. After wearing the Adidas Ultra Boost for multiple runs and feeling no discomfort in my feet, I can confidently say that the comfort of the Ultra Boost is top-of-the-line and ideal for frequent runners. Durability Since the Adidas Ultra Boost is relatively expensive ($180), most users are going to want to get their money’s worth. I define durability as a shoe that can remain in good condition for 6 months while running 30 miles per week. In my experience, I have went on 10 mile runs every other day for four months, and the shoes have shown minimal signs of wear. The tread on the bottom of the shoe is still fresh, resulting in a great grip between the shoe and the terrain. Based on what I have already experienced, I expect this great condition to continue for the next several months. Therefore, the Adidas Ultra Boost is great in terms of durability for frequent running. Performance I rate the performance of a running shoe based on its support and grip. The upper part of the Adidas Ultra Boost is constructed out of Primeknit, a formfitting material that adapts to the natural curvature of the foot. Primeknit provides a snug, sock-like fit, ensuring that your foot is well supported. The Continental rubber outsole is made from the same material as automobile tires—ensuring the best grip in wet and dry conditions. The performance of the Adidas Ultra Boost is unmatched by other shoes. After a thorough evaluation of the Adidas Ultra Boost, I can see why Adidas claims to have created the best running shoe. The Ultra Boost has excelled in comfort, durability, and performance, making it an ideal shoe for frequent runners. I highly suggest purchasing this shoe, and I hope you have the same positive experience that I’ve had.
I love love love these shoes. They are smaller than the picture makes them look, but in the best way possible. they are extremely comfortable, much like walking on memory foam. the arch support is outstanding. Two things that did not bother me but might be a problem for others: 1.) the mesh is very thin. if you are looking for a shoe to wear in the winter, this is probably not for you 2. the back does come up very high. i can definitely see how this might be problematic/a cause for blisters for some people. i have a pretty arched tendon back there so it's not a problem at all for me. Another thing to note, the bottom mesh is not connected to the sole in the middle. this is not a problem at all it's just not something i noticed before purchasing. (Also the aglets are pink and blue) Overall, this is probably my favorite sneaker i've ever purchased. i looove these shoes!
These shoes live up to the standards and reviews everyone has said before. There are a few issues that I have, which may or may not be a deal breaker. I went down a size which is perfect length and width now, but there is still heel slippage. My friends have the same shoe and also encounter the back part of the shoe slipping while playing. The loose back seems to also affect the shoe laces loosening up. I like my shoes nice and snug and hate to stop to retie my laces. The biggest issue with the white shoes is that Adidas did not use continental rubber for the sole. At first the traction does its job, but eventually you'll find yourself wiping the bottom every other possession in the game. This is annoying! Overall these shoes are great though. For its price, there really isn't anything that can argue with it unless you grab the Crazy Explosives. If you're looking for a low top shoe that gives you the freedom to move like a guard and so hard cuts, this is your shoe. The boost sole is also super comfortable and works for impact protection.
The shoe is fantastic. I would say durability is an issue, but that is the same as literally any shoe on the market today. Yes the outside will fray, no it didn't affect me at all and I am a crossover, quick guard. Traction was great overall, not perfect but great. Cushion is fantastic, despite what others here have said, this is the softest of the boost set-ups and its phenomenal. The prime knit is also great, and the inner bootie compliments it greatly. The fit is great, best fitting Adidas shoe in a long time. I didn't get any blisters or cuts, but I wear long socks always. Also this shoe will fit an ankle brace better than any other shoe. Overall could the shoe have been more durable? Sure, but no shoe really is anymore. It is a great buy and I will be looking forward to picking up a couple of extra pairs of the Crazy Explosive.
The cleats are absolutely wonderful. The upper is soft, and the three stripes on the sides hug your feet nice and tight. One of the things I loved was the studs, they allow me to change direction in any way with a lot of confidence. The collar is also at a very good height. The NSG is also a plus, as the little-raised dots give a great sensation. My only complain is that the yellow shoes get dirty on turf quickly, which I should have avoided by buying a different colour. Overall, you cannot find a boot of this caliber for this price anywhere else.
The Ultra Boosts are great shoes with two critical flaws in my experience (if you are using them as running shoes): 1) Primeknit durability, and 2) sockliner quality. 1) Primeknit durability: Within a few months of use, the Primeknit upper (which is super comfortable, btw) started to fray on the outside of the left foot. A month later, there was a visible hole that got bigger with each run. The shoes will soon be retired to "around the house" wear as my pinky toe is starting to poke out of the shoe. Suboptimal performance for a shoe at this price point. 2) Sockliner quality: After a few runs, I noticed that the balls of my feet would hurt after a mile or so. I took out the sockliner, compared it to the sockliner in my Energy Boost 2s, and noticed that the Energy Boost had a much thicker sockliner. I put those in my Ultra Boosts and the problem went away - I'd recommend doing something similar if you get these, but adidas should consider a redesign to address the issue. Overall impression: great shoe for everyday wear, good running shoe with some critical flaws, and recommend with some hesitation.
This product is one of the best i have form Adidas, i am a big Adidas fan and i have always approved of their shoes but the one disappointing part of the 16.2 is the laces, the first time i used it the laces just ripped of out of now where. it was very surprising because i have not had that issue with Adidas before, i am hoping its a glitch.
15 yr old got blisters on back of ankles, she wanted to see if she could get used to but the shoe ripped within 2 weeks just wearing around school so we sent it back. Sad because she loved them and would've been comfortable besides blisters, they just come up to high in the back.
Only one complaint... the back/top of the shoe rubs against my heel. Have to wear these shoes with taller socks or they'll rub your heels raw. Other than that, these shoes are awesome. Super comfortable (as long as I'm wearing the right socks), great to run in, and they look great.
Very comfortable and surprisingly supportive. Defintely the best basketball shoe I've ever worn. The PK upper takes absolutely zero break in time. I thought the 4 point lace system was not going to work, but is executed perfectly and keeps you locked in. Heel counter also keeps you from feeling any heel slippage - something I experienced with the Crazylight Boost Low 2016s. Full-length Boost is definitely felt throughout for maximum comfort. As for the outsole, it's not Continental, but it works. I felt no experience of slipping or sliding during hard cuts. Overall the shoe is very low profile and you can feel every millimeter of your foot on the court. No rocking or rollover sensation. I think adidas hit a home-run with the Crazy Explosive PK. Price point is awesome and, in my opinion, a great valued, best bang for your buck basketball shoe.
Perfection -- I've worn the original Ultraboost or the UltraboostST in my past three marathons. Something made be decide to try #uncaged. BEST. SHOE. EVER. Has everything the others do in cushion but my entire foot has truly found its happy place -- also affords much better opportunity for ankle flexion ... same sole as the other models which do fine in rain (e.g. BOS 2015). I'm sure I'll have to get a pair in red too!
These have got to be the most comfortable basketball shoes I have ever worn. The primeknit and inner booty (Geofit) is like a nice form fitting sock for your feet. It actually grooves to the shape of your feet over time. The boost is hands down the best cushion in the market right now and is plush and bouncy. These really are the ultra boost of the basketball shoe line up. Lockdown is great in this shoe.. No heel slippage and my toes did not smash into the toe box like how it does in the D Rose 7. As for fit, the fit is true to size. It works well for people with wide feet. If you actually feel the outer sole, such as when you wipe dust off, you'll notice just how wide these shoes are. Now here is the biggest issue with what could have been the greatest basketball shoe to date. The durability of the outer sole is really REALLY bad. Very poor quality. Ive been playing in these for about two weeks and I only play indoors on wood floor. There are already major signs of wear and tear, some parts of the heel area have already completely ripped off. There are like two other reviews that say this and show pictures, and I believe those two guys play indoors as well. I already feel the traction fading away and im sure in another few weeks it may even be bald. Overall, these are awesome shoes and definitely the most comfortable on the market right now. Everything was perfect except the durability of the outsoles. If Adidas used a different rubber compound and used the traction pattern of the D Rose 7 on these Crazy explosives then we have a clear hall of fame basketball shoe. My advice - don't even think about playing with these outside. Almost perfect, almost.
These trainers are the best! I love the fit, the colors are exactly as shown. The feeling of a snugly-fitting sock is amazing - like wearing slippers in the gym. The floating arch is such a nice touch and the feeling is great - your foot is never 'hanging' in the air, it is supported 100% of the time, regardless of the motion you are performing. All in all - my best purchase so far.
I was skeptical on buying these shoes at first, but decided I would get them to use as shoes to practice in this season. The moment I opened them up I was in love! I am a huge fan of all white shoes and the color is great, the look is great and they feel awesome! They are a little tight but I have yet to break them in! Totally would buy again.
Had the pure boosts before this, these surpass those in comfort which tells you a lot given how comfortable the pure boosts already are. Love the style of the uncaged version too bad the other colors are sold out.
I have wide feet, and one is especially wide because of a foot bump, but these cleats fit perfectly. I do have to wear the left one unlaced(because of the bump), but it stays on excellently and you could probably run both unlaced and be fine. The only issue I have is getting them on, but that can be solved by using a shoe horn. Feel for the ball is great, but you still have a little padding so shots don't hurt. My only concern is durability, and that is because I haven't had them long so I cant say anything about it. They are holding up perfectly after about 30 hours of use. Only took about 20 mins to break in. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone who can't spend 2 or 3 hundred but wants high end cleats.
I love the touch on the ball with these boots. I will say they are a little tight on the top of the foot, but I'm sure it will loosen up over time. It actually means I don't have to tie my shoes as tightly as possible for once which is nice. The boots are very comfortable and are worth every penny.
It's not been a year since I bought these shoes and the sole has cracked of both the shoes. I have a back problem so I needed shoes with extra cushion, I don't run I just walk and they couldn't sustain even a year. Spending $192 for 10 months is not justifiable. i don't know how long will they last for the people who run.
I own 3 pairs of these shoes. I love my first 2 pairs that have more of the cloth type material. It stretches just enough but fits my foot like a glove. My 3rd pair I don't really care for. The top is the mesh material. It is to stretchy and my foot feels like I have zero support on the sides. I love the elevated arch and boost. I feel like I'm walking on air. I wish they would put some piece of support at the toes because when I where them to the gym my feet slide forward with circuit training. I know there are trainers similar to these but I tried them and didn't love them. I hope they make another pair black and white mix for the fall. Mine from last year are the favorite pair of tennis shoes I've ever owned!
Very comfortable cleat, no break in time required. Im college player and in less than 1 month, my right shoe started coming apart at the sole. I have never worn them in the rain. At $300, I expected much better quality, huge disappointment.
Unlike all the hypebeasts out there I actually run in these, with that said I can say that these are the most comfortable running shoes I have ever had. very comfortable. They also give you that spring in your step you need for running. 10/10
I really like these cleats once I wore them on my first game I scored. I recommend being carful of getting the metal bottoms because sometimes they might fall out but over all these are good cleats. adidas should be selling the metal bottoms on their sight or in local stores near you
This is my favorite shoe of all time because of comfort and aesthetics BUT for 180$ they wear out very fast I'm not even running in them and after one day of just waliking at school I had parts of the sole That were all worn out and flat PLEASE MAKE OUTSOLE MORE DURABLE!!
