Rated 4 out of 5 by Springblade Testing Overall, I would rate the Adidas Springlbade running shoes that I was lucky enough to test a 7.5 out of 10. The design is unique yet effective and feels as well as looks good. Immediately after trying them on for the first time, I noticed a definite spring in my step from the energy blade. It did take a few days to get used to running in them simply because they are a much different style than other running shoes. Additionally, I tried them out in my Insanity workouts, and I definitely prefer running in them as the plasticity of the soles makes for doing plyos a bit awkward with heavy landing. I do suggest going a half-size smaller than what you're used to, as mine seemed to be slightly big length-wise. After testing this product, I would recommend the Adidas Springblade shoe solely for running. I enjoy working out with my Springblades and I appreciate the opportunity to get to test them out for Adidas. July 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Was skeptical and now I'm hooked Wen I first took the shoes out of the box I immediately did not prefer the color or even the look of the shoe. They were a bit too funky even for me. But I decided to give them a try on my daily 6 miles. On the first mile I could feel that something was very different about these shoes. I usually hit my stride at mile 3 and the first two miles of my run are the struggle to get there. But with the springblades I was there at my high energy level at the start. There was definitely more energy with each step but not like a bounce as you would expect when looking at the shoes. After 24 miles I'm hooked. July 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by best running shoe Upon opening the package I must say I was very impressed. The quality, the craftsmanship, the look and the feel of the shoe were outstanding. The design is truly unique and looks impressive! Running for the first time with the springblades felt amazing. The shoe fit right to size and was very comfortable from day one. The shoe upper really conforms to the shape of your foot and feels great with every step you take. I felt the boost on the bottom of the springblades with every stride I took. It was as if with every step the shoe pushed off the pavement to give me the the extra energy I needed for the lift to the next step. I run with a running group on the streets of Chicago and feel that these springblades give me all the support I need along with my Warriors tribe and I highly recomend them. Thank you for the opportunity to review a great running shoe. Angie July 31, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst shoe I have ever run in I have been running for over twenty years and worn several pairs of Adidas running shoes. These are beyond a doubt, the worst fitting, most uncomfortable and slow shoe I have ever worn. The blades act as a wind break on a windy day and slow you down. You cannot run heel - toe in these as there is just too much bounce. I am a solid mid 8 minute miler and in these shoes I was above a 9 minute mile doing what I do every time I run. Maybe these would work on a treadmill; but definitely not for the road. August 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love them So I bought these shoes cause I have been looking and trying different shoe for work. I walk a lot on cement and my feet, ankles, knees, and lower back hurt me every day. By the time I get home I'm exhausted and don't feel like doing anything. But with these shoes nothing hurts and I still have entergy to do things after work. And I work outside in the heat and me feet stay cool. I am waiting on my second pair to come in. I just wish the girls had more colors to choose from. August 9, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sized waaaay to big. I was so excited to get these! Sadly, I haven't had a chance to run in these yet since I tried on one shoe and it seemed half- to a full-size too big (I'm usually a 7.5 women's). I haven't tried a smaller size since I pre-ordered them and there are no stores near by that stock these. Not sure if the toe-box is large as one other reviewer noted, but I can attest they are way too long for my feet. I'm going to return these and try a half-size smaller, although I may wait to order the new pair after reading a few more reviews. August 1, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by hoping for something different Bought these before the release. Hoping they would be over the top with technology. For the price they should be. Not what I expected. Best for neutral runner. Not much support and wide at toe box. These look cool but I think are just a novelty. I am returning them. July 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by sizing Bought a pair of springblades for my girlfriend for xmas. She normally wears an 8, and has several other pairs of adidas in that size. When the springblades came she tried them on and they looked to be at least 2 sizes to big even though they said size 8 on the tongue and womans on the box. And since you can't seem to find this model in stores anywhere to try on for sizing, I'm reluctant to order another size for fear of still not fitting right. January 9, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by not a happy customer I wear Adidas shoes all the time and have never been dissatisfied. Until Springblade. They are bigger than normal Adidas sizing and they are uncomfortable with very little cushion. What a waste of my money! July 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice looking shoe The color of the shoe was electric when they first came out of the box . I was excited to wear them! I put them on to go for a quick jog to warm up before doing a exercise video . While jogging they felt great . Started my video that involved lots of jumping, cardio, and plyometrics . I do not recommend shoe for lots of jumping . I recommend the boost shoe made by Adidas . Best shoe I have ever purchased . I have bought three pair . July 29, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by Adidas Faulty Springblade broke within 1-hour Less than an hour after buying my first pair of Adidas Springblade shoes at Macy's, I could hear a clicking sound as I walked around the hotel room. I returned the Springblade shoes immediately and while the assistant examined the faulty clicking fin, it completely broke away in his hands! I received a refund. I was returning to the UK the next day, so did not feel secure about buying another pair. I have never, experienced such poor product quality! Unacceptable poor quality and poor customer experience of running shoes. #AdidasSpringbladeFaultyShoes April 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Springblade test Ordered my Springblade free test shoes in my regular running shoe size of 7.5. They were very long and large overall. Adidas C/S was kind enough to send a pair of 7's at no charge but still too long. Again, Adidas exchanged them for a 6.5 which is my street shoe size. I wear a 7.5 in all other brands and an 8 in the Boost so I would say the Springblades run a full size large. They are shaped like a torpedo, pointed toe and straight from heel to toe so that my big toe was pushed toward the middle of the toe box. After a little running, this didn't bother me. I prefer a shape that hugs the arch area but these had no indentation at all. The shape did not conform to my foot. During a 4 mile run, I did not feel much cushioning, especially compared to the Boost. The rebound effect was more noticeable running with a forefoot strike. I did run a little faster than usual. When I was done, I put on my Boosts and compared to the Springblades they felt like walking on air. All in all, it was great of Adidas to offer this test and their C/S is excellent. I have included a pic of the Springblade 6.5' Saucony Ride 7.5 and Boost size 8 so the sizes and shapes can be compared. August 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Spring into the future of running! I am a 47 year old recreational runner, and I generally run 3-4 times per week (5 miles per run on average), with cross training and aerobics on alternate days. I have been an Adidas runner for over twenty years. I have found that Adidas are light weight, and provide outstanding support, cushioning, and bounce. I have had Achilles tendon issues in the past, and they literally disappeared when I found my first pair of Adidas. I will never wear any other brand! I have even turned my husband into an Adidas fanatic. We each recently purchased the new Adidas Boost (and absolutely love them!), so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try out yet another of Adidas new creations! I must admit, I tend to be on the conservative side for color, so the hot pink/orange Springblades were a bit out of the ordinary for me, but they certainly got noticed out on the road! After the color, the amazing things you notice next are the flexible, yet sturdy, blades. They are relatively stiff to the touch, but are amazingly resilient when running. My first trial with the shoes was on a treadmill. I run a relatively moderate pace (I average 8 ½ minute miles) but I felt as if I was continually running to the very front of the treadmill, so I increased my pace. The faster I ran, the better they felt! My road trials were quite similar. These shoes truly propel you forward. I would highly recommend them for faster runners and for those who are interested in improving their personal pace. I did find that they ran just a bit large. I am always a 9, but I would probably have been more comfortable in an 8 ½. Adidas running shoes generally run true to size, so this is the first time I have ever had that issue. Perhaps the size difference was a bit more noticeable as I have been running in a pair of Adidas Boost, which are quite snug around the foot. The width was very comfortable on my foot, which is an average width. Overall, I give the shoe a 5 out of 5. Go Adidas!!! August 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by spingblade good but too big My springblade shoes a very good foot stress relief even for walking, however my regular size is too big for this shoe? So I guess I have to live with the too big size cause it is too late to return. November 6, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too big They run large and I should have returned them but my mistake. They are a pretty stiff shoe, I prefer the Adidas Boost November 12, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Neutral about the shoe Size - Seem to run a bit larger than usual. I wear a 7.5 and I had to wear two socks to get the same feel as my typical Adidas Shoe. Feel - They are very comfortable!! Performance - Above Average. They felt fine while running, but makes a funny clicking sound when my foot hits the payment. Kind of annoying. Overall - They are an above average shoe, kind of gimmicky but feel good. I would recommend the Adidas Boost shoe ( best I ever had) in lieu of the Springblade. August 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Addidas Springblade is awesome! With bad knees and a bad back I have been looking for shoes that would absorb the impact of every step. This shoe is superb on many levels: the the springblade is unique in design especially in the blade outsole. I also find the construct of the main body of the shoe is light and well constructed. Although I believe this to be a perfect running shoe, it gets lots of attention I love the optic yellow (my name for the color) and am very satisfied by this shoe. November 30, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by A little disappointed I did order my shoes a 1/2 size smaller and fit was ok. I wish that they came in some of the men's color options. I had high hopes, maybe too high, so I was a bit disappointed with these shoes. There is 0 arch support so they actually hurt my feet where I couldn't run. I had to go purchase inserts for these shoes. I also thought the spring blades would actually have a bit of spring to them (as the name would lead you to believe) but they are hard. I thought a bit of spring would help me with my knee that bothers me some when I run or go up a steep hill so these really didn't do anything for me. I think I need something that is more shock absorbing but these were expensive so I guess I will just deal with it for awhile until I need a new pair. Seems like most people have had a good experience with them, they just aren't the perfect shoe for me. October 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by mens springblade My husband was a "shox" man. Ever since they came out years ago, that's the only kind of athletic shoe he would wear. That was until last week when his new pair of mens springblade running shoe came. Now they are the only shoe he wears. They are soooo comfortable. The size 10 fits him true to size. They were the center of attention the first time he wore them to the gym. Thanks for making such a great product. March 22, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST SHOE EVERRRRRR!!! Amazing shoe! Adidas is the only athletic designer brand that I will purchase for all of my attire. These shoes look and feel so amazing. I have been getting so many compliments. All of my friends are going out and purchasing them (if they are lucky enough to find them! These shoes are FLYING off of the shelves everywhere) If you want the very BEST you better go out and get your pair TODAY!! November 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Buy Comfortable running shoe. Had to return due to it being too big. I did order .5 size small, but really needed to order a full size smaller. Re-ordered the same pair, but smaller. Husband got some too, he loves the way they feel. He's not much of a runner, but wanted to keep up with me. Looking forward in running in these shoes at our local crossfit box soon! September 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too much Hype Springblades run large (one size). I like the concept, and they felt comfortable, but I was expecting more. I think all the hype (marketing) made it impossible for me to be impressed. I had to return/ send mine back..way too big. Not sure that I am willing to reorder @ $180. August 9, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Running I really couldn't tell if they were going to work well since they were way too big. I bought size 5 and they were more like a 6 1/2, since they were too big they hurt my feet after trying them for just a few minutes. If they made a true size 5 I would try them again. August 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Extreme comfort I am a nurse - not a runner. I am on my feet a lot (12 hr. shifts) & the Springblade feels so good! I think they would be best for running. Lines/cords at work did get caught in between the blades but otherwise they are extremely comfortable. February 27, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Runs Big I normally wear an 8. I ordered an 8 and had to send them back. I reordered a 7.5 and had to send those back and get a 7. The shoe description says to order a half size smaller but I have narrow feet and had to go a whole size smaller. August 15, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable Running Shoe I typically do not spend a lot of $$ on running shoes but am so glad my husband pre-ordered these for me. They are super comfortable and the sole really feels different, you do get a different push off. Highly recommend! August 3, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by Springblade Shoes Springblade Shoes What happened Adidas? You spent 5 years perfecting the technology yet failed to make sure the sizing was correct! I ordered the shoes online; when it arrived, I thought they had sent a men’s size. I had to take the time to park, and go to the store to exchange the shoe. Even a full size smaller, the shoe is too long. If you buy the $200.00! (Including tax) shoe a half/full size small it will not be as long in the front but you end up compromising on the rest of the fit.. I made the mistake of buying the shoes-I was in desperate need of a new running shoe and had waited for the Springblade to arrive. I was looking forward to the new Springblade and my first pair of Adidas running shoes. What an expensive mistake! The technology is terrific but of no use if the shoe is not sized correctly. Good points-blue color is nice, great, long shoelaces. Big Minuses: sizing is way off (spend time in any Adidas store and you will hear this from men and women,) the sewing between the “tongue” and shoe is poor-it is unraveling. If Adidas takes the time to correct the sizing it will be a great running shoe. I gave it only one star-it is a very expensive shoe with some major sizing issues. August 12, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Springs for your feet Okay, so I have to be honest… I was really surprised when I received an email that stated Adidas wanted me to take part in a very limited and exclusive test program for their new Springblade running shoes. Although I am a fitness enthusiast and a runner, it is always flattering when someone asks you to be part of a small select group to test a new product and write an honest, forthright review. So here goes…I received the new Springblade running shoes about a week and half ago and have really enjoyed giving them a workout. Box arrived in impressive fashion, neatly packaged and right on time. My first impression when I opened the box was that these look really nice!!! The blades at the bottom looked like they would give me an added boost as I hit the pavement. When I put them they were really comfortable and fit like a glove. Walking in them though made me feel as if I had on flippers or fins. However, when running they seemed to give me an added burst of energy each time my foot hit the pavement. The downside is that they are quite noisy and bulky. Definitely worth trying out if you like the feel of an extra burst of energy when you run and are tired of the lightweight slipper like running shoes. August 12, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Innovative comfort and function I expected an odd or unusual feel, but these are simply super comfortable running shoes that happen to sport a unique and innovative style. My usual shoe size is a 7 and I order a 7.5 in running shoes, which I did with this purchase. I recently purchased Adidas Energy Boost shoes(also amazingly comfortable and 5 stars from me) and 7.5 was the right size for me. So, I ordered 7.5 in this shoe and was surprised that they had extra room/length in the toe box and seemed a half size too big so I almost returned them for a size 7...however, I decided to leave the tag on and run in them on my treadmill. I'm glad I did. They looked fine, fit well, and there was no movement of my foot in the shoe. My first run was 3 miles and I quickly removed the tag afterward as I knew they were a keeper in that size. I purchased these August 1st and received them the next day (THANKS, Adidas!!). They have 20+ miles on them so far. I didn't think it was possible to like any shoe more than the Energy Boost, but I like these even more! Why, you ask? They feel light on my feet, do provide me with a little extra springiness, and although I can notice great responsiveness, also feel they somehow provide a protective cushioning, so the usual soreness I typically feel in my feet on long runs is thankfully absent. And I happen to love the blast pink color with the orange shoe strings! August 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Pushing forward!! I have read many reviews beforehand and basically I can confirm that: - it is too big, I ordered them 1/2 size smaller and it's alright, but I could have even taken them a whole size smaller - the "power" and the effect is larger the faster you run, so I wouldn't recommend the shoe for beginners, it's rather for fast runners - when the ground is wet, it might be a little slippery, but it's not too bad What I CAN'T confirm: - many people said, that they don't see any difference or any boost, but I think that's just a matter of how fast one is and how one is running; the faster you are and the more you lean forward, the larger the effect of the blades!! For me it was a great experience as you can feel with every stride that they are pushing you forward! I usually run 10km 2-3 times a week. When training for a half-marathon 15km 3-4 times a week, so usually I hit my stride very quickly and I am in a good condition. However, the first time I took the Springblades out for a run I had my difficulties. I usually lean forwards when running, but the blades where pushing me forward so much, that it was a little to fast for me and I had to straighten up a little. However, once I adjusted they were great!! Alredy on the second run I finished my 10km in 55 minutes instead of an hour, that's how much they were boosting my run. For me they are the perfect motivation to improve my speed, so their effect will be even larger. About the looks: it may be not for everyone, but I really like it. Especially as they are not yet available in Germany until next near they are very noticable ;) December 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best running show I have ever worn I want to start with: I love these shoes. There are pros and cons, but overall these are by far the best running shoes I have ever put on my feet. Pros: I have a bad left knee and earlier this year I broke my left ankle which (from crutches and the weight of the boot putting extra strain on my hip) left me with Tendinitis in my left hip flexer, but the ankle healed and feels great. I know this sounds like miracle statement that couldn't possibly be true, but all of my pain has completely gone away since wearing these shoes. My knee has been especially aggravating b/c even in my best shape I could only run about 6 miles before having to stop b/c of the pain in my knee. These shoes are worth every penny in the pain relief alone that they have provided. I am 30 years old, 125 lbs and very active, but it has probably been 5 years since I had my last pain-free run. That feeling alone is so liberating and makes me excited to go out there every time I run to push myself like I haven't been able to in a long time. Plus, now I don't feel like I am doing anymore damage to my knee either. I have spent so much money on knee braces, shoe inserts, tape, new shoes, all sorts of remedies for my knee that have helped but never totally worked, so again these shoes are WORTH EVERY PENNY. My fear was that these shoes would do some of the work for me, require less effort on my part, but I wear a heart rate monitor that keeps track of my calories burned when I run and I burn the same amount of calories with or without these shoes. They absorb some of the impact and have some spring that is just enough to help my take longer strides and work on improving my form (especially since I don't have to focus on overcoming any pain). You can make a workout as easy or as difficult as you want no matter what shoes you are wearing. With these you just get better results. That brings me to the next awesome point. I have shaved 30 secs a mile off of my pace. I have never been running miles under 9 mins and with these shoes I am in the 8:40's for 3 mile runs, and lower 9's for longer. All b/c of what I just mentioned above. Con: These shoes are big. It says they run a 1/2 size big (definitely) but everything about this shoes is big, not just the length. They have a big foot cage and fit wide. I have a more narrow foot and initially I was getting a blister on the back of my heel b/c the shoe hit higher on my heel then I was used to. I found the soul of the shoe on the firmer side as well, so it worked perfect for me to add a simple drug store Dr. Scholl foot insert in the bottom of the shoe. Now I have an amazing fit. Last, these are bulky shoes (but not heavy at all). In the store I preferred the blue/grey shoes, the pink was a bit of an overload b/c these shoes have a big presence when they are on your foot. They are hard to miss, in my option the pink was over the top. The blue is nice. Hope this helps! September 23, 2013
