Rated 1 out of 5 by Longtime sequence runner very disappointed I've been running in Supernova and Supernova Sequence for as long as they've been making them, and I've done it injury free while training for a bunch of half marathons. In August 2012 I bought the Sequence 5 and have been plagued with ankle soreness and knee and hip issues. Absolutely nothing else changed in my routine except the shoe. Adidas, I'm sure you were trying to make improvements but whatever you changed in the "5" incarnation is not working. Please return to the Sequence 4 model - it ain't broke, so don't fix it. I just had to resort to an online search to purchase Sequence 4s on clearance at a discount shoe site. December 28, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Long time supernova fan disappointed I have been running in the Supernova Sequence for many many years. Loved them. Injury free running since I started wearing them. I ordered a pair of the new sneakers a few months back. After running in them for three miles I was getting terrible ankle soreness in my left ankle. I figured new shoes got to break them in. I kept running in them and it was awful. So painful to run in the sneakers. I see someone also posted about this ankle soreness. I am so disappointed. I can't find a comparable shoe and I can't wear the ones I bought. Very sad. Bring back the old style. Are the shoes higher now? I don't get it. December 30, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed Super Nova Runner!! I have worn Super Nova's since they came out. I am a distance runner who has been loyal to this shoe. Every 400 miles it was a no brainier to go get my next generation on this shoe. In September 2012 I purchased these shoes from adidas.com and I thought it was my imagination but I have been miserable in this shoe. Never in my life have I had shin splints , blister and ham string issues along wirh sore feet. With this new generation I have all of the above and I'm out $120.00. I LOVED every other generation of Super Nova's I have had and looked forward to running. The cushion, support all of it worked. This generation is HORRIBLE.! Now I have no idea what to buy next. Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect treadmill & weight training sneaks With the Adidas supernova & supernova sequence you're offered a choice of beautifully balanced and well cushioned very light running or walking sneaks that come slightly wider in the sequence model. They're light, very comfortable and hold up well when alternating pairs daily. Most should wear any well worn sneaker 3-6 months maximum and these are both so terrific I'm reordering though I don't need replacements just yet. Highest recommendation especially if you are a 20-30 minute walker, 4x weekly weight training or couple mile jogger. Beyond those requirements I can not offer any assistance. March 7, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst shoe I have worn the predecessor of this shoe for some time and thought the new model would be great. It is not. My ankles hurt and last night, for the first time ever, I wore a blister in one foot. I don't know what has changed, but this shoe is not like its predecessors. October 17, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible Shoe... I have worn the Sequence shoe for the last 4 yrs. I bought these in Sept. '12 and have had horrible IT band issues and blisters on my instep since. They are not even close to being the same as the 3's or 4's. They are much wider than the 4's and it doesn't feel like there is any motion control at all. My best friend bought the same shoe and had horrible ankle and shin pain from the first run. We both sent them back. Very disappointed. January 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by fantastic fix for over-pronating Had these shoes recommended to me at my friendly neighborhood running store for over-pronation in my stride. In the past four weeks of running, the ankle pain from over-pronating (in my old shoes) has completely disappeared. I can really tell a difference, and since the only thing I've done differently is start using these shoes, they're clearly what helped. November 14, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoe This shoe is GREAT!! I'm not a runner, but I always buy running shoes because I have a very high arch and adidas are the only shoes I have found to have the proper arch support. I love the torsion technology adidas has. Again, I don't run, but I'm a student and spend a lot of time walking to and from classes and going across campus several times a day and my feet feel wonderful, even after being at school for 10 hours! Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed I was advised this was the replacement shoes for sequence 4. Not by a long shot. I hate this shoe. I have worn four since you brought it out and loved it as I have foot issues. After only a couple of days my pain is back and now I am out 130.00! What a waste. December 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ladies Supernova Sequencials 5 I received my special order shoes on time and as described. From the moment I put them on I knew I made a fabulous purchase. These are extremely comfortable shoes with great support. I would highly recommend them to anyone. January 16, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Fit is weird, tongue tied... I've been wearing some version of this shoe for the past 12 years, back to the Brevard. This is my 5th or 6th pair of Sequence, probably. The Sequence 5 fit is huge. I was able to try on in a store, so I sized down a half size (all my previous pairs have been 9.5, these are size 9). That having been said, in the smaller size, they fit fine and are working well, but I hesitate to buy another pair online, because I wouldn't know what size to buy. It used to be a no-brainer. Also, the tongue is really short, which is a little annoying. Not sure why this changed so much. April 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Training Shoe I got these shoes after running in Mizunos for a long time and the transition between brands was quick and felt great. Great stability shoe but doesn't feel too huge, good arch support and cushioning, comfortable tongue/laces, and love the colors! February 20, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Impressed with the SS5 I have a history about a 4 year history of buying Supenova Sequences. The sequence 5 seem too soft and flimsy, not the sole only fabric around the foot. The exerior sole is supportive. The material minus the sole is just to flimsy, stretchy-non supportive. It feels crazy loose. I don't feel good in this shoe. Please adidas go back to previous models and compare. This one isn't working. Sad Adidas have been my favorite shoes. February 24, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by sequence 5 shoes I sent them back. I bought the size I usually get in Adidas shoes. these were way too big so size did not seem true. March 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great shoe I've been running in these shoes for over 4 months now. I love how connected I feel to the ground but still have the support I need. I wish the toe box were just a tad wider, but it's acceptable for me. The overall fit is good and true to size. I'm returning for my second pair. December 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite! I wear these types of shoes in my daily life as a laser operator. I have a nice collection of brands and colors but the Adidas are by far my favorite. They are the most comfortable and I love the fancy details like the shiny stripes! I would take a pair in every color;-) April 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Running Shoe This is a very comfortable shoe for short or long runs. I have only used them on a treadmill so I cannot comment on what they would be like on the streets. But I would recommend it as a good running shoe. January 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe I Expected I can't believe all the negative reviews. I have worn this Supernova Sequence shoe for years. Purchased this new pair and am just as happy as I have always been. February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great shoe I love the fit and look. I get lots of compliments on the style. True to an Adidas fit, does not seem to run wide/narrow as compaired to the other Adidas I own. February 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe better than 4s! These shoes fit better than the Supernova Sequence 4s. They feel lighter and have more control for over pronators. I like them and will buy more. February 18, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 Supernova Sequence 5 Shoes These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on my feet! I love them and they are beautiful to look at! Please make them in black too! April 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Purchase These shoes are so light and comfortable. I am never disappointed when I purchase a pair of Adidas shoes. March 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice running shoes! Great fit and comfort just like previous Adidas running shoe purchases. Very happy with these shoes! February 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best purchase ever March 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fit for me, apparently not for others I've been reading over the other reviews and find it interesting that all people who LOVED the Sequence 4 have had major issues with the Sequence 5, particularly with ankle soreness and blisters. I have no prior adidas shoes to compare my Sequence 5s to, I have always run in Sauconys or Asics. For me, the Sequence 5 has had an opposite effect from the others who haven't liked them. I was training for my first half-marathon and having issues with shin and knee soreness, to the point where I was going to physical therapy AND bought $120 custom orthotics (talk about a total waste of $$$), with minimal imrpovement. I went to my local Fleet Feet to get a new pair of shoes and they put me in the adidas Supernova Sequence 5s. I was a little skeptical because I had never been an adidas wearer and thought of them as soccer shoes more than for runners. Lo and behold, those shoes have fixed all of my shin/knee issues and I have run 3 half-marathons and a 15K bridge run in them. I absolutely love these shoes. I think this model is definitely geared toward the overpronator who needs some extra cusioning in the heel, but they are very light and extremely comfortable. I have never had a blister or any foot soreness either. Obviously not the perfect shoe for everyone, but they are wonderful for me. April 30, 2013
