Rated 1 out of 5 by So disappointing This will be my third and likely final Boston marathon. I ran 2013 and was one of the runners prevented from finishing. We were hoping the colors would reflect the meaning of the survivors, the experience, the trauma, the hope - and be in navy blue, red and white - both to represent the support of the country and matching the Boston colors - the red sox, etc. This is an ugly design and color scheme and does not reflect what the 2014 Boston marathon stands for. I hope, as others have said, a different jacket will be designed and sold by the time of the marathon. January 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Was hoping for better So, I read all the reviews and thought . . It can't be that bad. People are just whining. So I ordered mine. This is my first Boston and I was thinking I really want the Official jacket, no matter what . . . I'm re-thinking that now. I'm an orange fan and the color is fine. It's the Miami Dolphin blue I can't get past. The stripes are just silly looking. I may send it back, I am bummed. Even Orange with white or black would have been better than that blue. - Disappointed Runner PS - I am from New England - we know Boston Runs as One - I liked the old style better with the 26.2 on the back of the neck too. Rated 1 out of 5 by So Disappointed I am relatively new to running, and 2014 will be my first Boston Marathon. I have many friends who proudly wear their Boston jackets, and I was looking forward to finally wearing my own. But the color and design of this jacket are really disappointing, and I'm not sure that I would ever wear it, even though I want a Boston jacket desperately. I'm hoping that you will listen to the overwhelming majority who have also posted their disappointment, and design an alternate jacket that people will really buy. Otherwise, I guess I can just wait until the many unsold jackets hit TJ Maxx for a third of the price, just like the 2012 burnt orange jackets did. January 2, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by So disappointing I really cannot believe this is the design that Adidas and the BAA chose for the 2014 Boston Marathon. I had so hoped that for this very special year, they'd come up with a traditional design/color scheme that really represented the Boston Marathon and maybe even incorporated the BostonStrong concept. I really hope they rethink this and offer something else for those of us who dislike this design. It's going to be such a special event in 2014 and I know many who will not be buying this jacket but rather gear from other manufacturers who get it right. C'mon, Adidas, fix it. You have time. Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a fan This is a comment on the styling of this jacket with the hopes that Adidas will see these comments and reconsider the design of it (or at least the Men's) if it isn't too late. I personally don't mind the orange color, but it sounds like most people hate it. Plus you used orange two years ago. The blue and white stripe across the back is the thing I notice the most. It looks ugly and seems just completely out of place and added in as an afterthought. Also, I wish you kept the vented opening in the back of the jacket that was part of recent Boston jackets. I'll probably end up buying a Men's jacket no matter what it looks like, but I'm hoping they change it up from this version. I'm sure the quality of the jacket itself is fine, but I just wish Adidas would change the design. December 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by special jacket The orange is BRIGHT...which I love. I am 5'5", 120-125lbs, measure 35-27-36 ,and the small fit the way I like. Sleeves were plenty long enough, and I like the silky snug cuff for keeping them in place, and the wind/rain out. The length is good, comes JUST below my bum, and the elastic bottom is not tight at all. I find the jacket the SLIGHTEST bit snug across the shoulders...not enough to size up, as then it would be too big in the body. I think the jacket misses a few details that RUNNING jackets in this price point have (back vents, stowable hood, thumbholes), but this is a special jacket, and for that, it's worth it. Rated 1 out of 5 by Gah-bage Seriously, this jacket is terrible looking. I will pray that Santa brings a better option for the guys. The striping on the back has to go. Worst jacket eva! I would have thought that Adidas would have pulled out all the stops this year and made a great jacket, but now I'm surprised they even wanted to put their name on this, let alone the Boston Marathon Logo. Less features than previous years, lets go back to the drawing board please! December 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Ugly as Sin What the heck Adidas. This is my first time running Boston and I can't even tell you how disappointed I am that THIS is the celebration jacket I've trained/waited my whole life to earn. Not only is it the ugliest hazmat suit/traffic cone color I've ever seen in my entire life BUT did you really have to remove the flap in the back? It doesn't even resemble a celebration jacket. I shed tears the first time I saw it because I was so sad. December 29, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unfortunate Both the deign and color scheme are very poor. I have purchased each of the last 3 Boston Marathon jackets. I could not imagine choosing to wear this jacket over any of those (even the 2011 jacket that had a silk screened logo instead of an embroidered logo). After the events of the 2013 marathon, it is baffling that Adidas would not choose a design incorporating the colors of the Boston Marathon (or, alternatively, red, white and blue). December 17, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bummer Love Adidas and have been training for the right to buy this jacket for years. 2014 will be my first (likely only) Boston. One of my main thoughts was "wow I hope they don't drop the ball and release a really hideous jacket".... ....they released a really hideous jacket. The only redeeming factor is that it says Boston Marathon on it and for that reason and that reason alone I'll buy the ugly thing. What else can you say? Epic fail..... December 13, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by I agree with all the comments about the awful color and design of this years official jacket and the lack of respect it gives to the situation. I find it just as appalling that Adidas/BAA has chosen to use the same jacket as this years London marathon. How does that show that the Boston marathon is special and the greatest marathon in the world? In 2011, the year the field filled so quickly, there was a second line of clothing for "qualifiers". Unfortunately, this year's orange and blue line is a done deal but that doesn't mean there cant be a second line for those of us that would like to honor the victims and show respect to all those affected. I would also suggest that the profits from that line be donated to the One Fund or similar charity. January 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Adidas can do better! I have to agree with the other reviews, I am very disappointed in this year's jacket. I have always been proud to wear my finisher jacket to honor the history of the race and the great accomplishments of those who run it. This year, it represents so much more and so many more people. I was hoping the jacket would be more patriotic (red, white and blue) or more traditional BAA colors, blue and yellow. Please consider an additional product offering in a different color and possibly with a tribute to last years events and victims , i.e. Boston Strong, etc. January 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Job Addidas - To Celebrate Our Resolve I did Boston 2013, loved the jacket, I'm returning to Boston 2014 to run again. I bought the 2014 jacket early and put it away until I finish the race.... Great job Addidas! This jacket is better than the photos give it credit. The colors are great, and I like the striped/ribbon design. I think it makes it a bit special this year, and stands out, in celebration of this year's unique race. I think the color choice is actually quite good, as it's an optimisitic, cheery, celebratory color! January 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Boston Marathon jacket ever! No venting on the back like prior years! (and ugggly to boot!) This design (and color) is atrocious! December 9, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't like the orange on the official jacket Was very disappointed in the orange colour adidas decided to use on the 2014 Boston Marathon. December 5, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Uhhhgly What is adidas thinking with this color? Very bad design; so disappointed. December 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Better than I thought it would be My first reaction was much like everyone else's........what an ugly orange jacket and why isn't it blue and yellow! I have dreamed of running Boston and owning a blue and yellow finisher jacket so I was very disappointed to see this. However, it kind of grows on you. I have finally come to the realization that I will be just as excited to put this on after the race because of what it signifies and not what it looks like. It isn't the jacket that I dreamed of, but I will wear it with pride after fulfilling my dream and running Boston. January 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this jacket! The color was a surprise at first, but I have grown to love it. Orange is the new black, and neon orange is great when running at dusk. The quality is good, it is warm but breathable, and I like the cuffs at the wrist. It is long, which is both good and bad. I like the length other than the fact that if I put my Iphone in the pocket, it bangs into my thigh as a I run. The fit is good - I wouldn't say it runs too small, but a little smaller than normal. I typically get an XS, but this only comes in S, M and L. The S is fine. I guess some are sad they didn't put the 26.2 on the back, but anyone who knows anything about running will recognize the Boston Marathon symbol and know you ran 26.2. April 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love the brightness! I know many are lamenting the color, but I don't get why...we are runners, we wear bright, reflective clothing. It's not like this is a fan jacket for a heavy metal band. I thought I wouldn't like the cuffs, but actually do. I think losing the back vent was not the best plan, but expect it will be ok. I wish they had stayed with the BAA 26.2 on the collar and moved the Boston Runs As One logo to somewhere it would be better seen. All in all, I like it. The fit is probably the best of the Boston jackets that I have (2011, 2012, 2013) January 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Major fail When I saw the jacket online I thought it was pretty ugly. When I got it in the mail it was even worse. The color is absolutely horrid and it's baggy and shapeless. I ordered a small even though I'm really an XS, but there was no XS. I'm trying to decide whether to return it. I also ordered one for my boyfriend for Christmas and told him to keep the tags on it in case he wants to return it. I noticed there's a new blue jacket for women which looks a little nicer but doesn't look as official. This is my 5th Boston and might be the only time I don't have an official jacket. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Jacket I like the jacket. It's true to its size both in the length of the body and arms. I usually wear an XS in most tops but if I want to wear anything thicker than a sports bra I knew I had to get this size for it to feel comfortable. It's not as thick as the official jacket from last year and the orange is more florescent in person. It will definitely be seen when I'm out running. I wish the "Boston Runs as One" emblem on the back of the collar where a patch sewn in instead of just an iron on. If you wash this too much it will eventually come off. I like the jacket, of course I had to have it. March 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the new design This is my 10th Boston Marathon. I buy the jacket each year and appreciate the new look for the 2014 jacket. I like having a bright color that is easily seen when running. Last year, I actually was disappointed that the 2013 was so similar to the 2009 jacket. January 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Boston Marathon jacket I was hesitant after reading reviews about this jacket but I was happy when I received it. It is much nicer than the photos. Color is better than I thought as well. I still would have preferred a blue or red jacket...... but I am happy with it. Women sizes tend to run a little small too, glad I got a large. January 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by visible running wear After loosing a multi Boston marathoner running group member a few weeks ago due to not being fully visible during a winter evening run I think the bright color of this winter running jacket is perfect so we can actually use it for training. The blue ones from last year are too dark to actually use as a running jacket. If I'm spending more than $100 on a piece of running clothing, I want it to be usable for running. December 22, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Disappointed in the jackets This will be my 10th year as a volunteer. I wait all year to see the colors n then get the necessary sneakers to match. I believe the jackets should be Red, White, & Blue. Not only are they the colors of the USA but also of 2 Boston Teams. There has not been a tomato red. It was a dark coral color. The 04 & 05 jackets were blue. I think we need a white jacket with all the Boston colors as well as the Boston Strong logo.... We are a huge City of Champions. Let's get this done Boston Style people.... January 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better in Person! I was definitely not excited when I saw the color/design of this year's jacket but as a first time Boston marathoner, I bought it anyway. Now that I have it, I'm pretty excited. As far as the styling goes, I think it looks MUCH better in person. Let's face it, no matter what color the jacket is, not everyone will like it. Bright orange isn't my first choice, but I like it more than I thought I would and it looks very cute on. And I LOVE the fit. I'm tall and a lot of jackets are short on me but this fits perfect. I didn't think I'd like it and now I can't wait to get to wear it. January 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Oh No, Say it ain't so! Please Adidas, try again. Do NOT like the color, nor the styling. Looks like the same jacket as for the London Marathon, although London's has vented back. In 2013, as soon as I saw the jacket, I screamed, I WANT that! This year, I was really looking forward to it, and NO, NO, NO. Yuk. Why 2 different oranges? Orange glow looks better than solar zest. Navy, Black, Silver all would have been better base colors. The clothing that's navy with orange stripes look awesome, but alas, are only in men's. I wonder what the volunteers' jackets will look like. May have to trade with one. January 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed with jacket color After the tragedy at the 2013 Boston Marathon, I feel fortunate to be running the 2014 Boston and supporting the Boston area. I was looking forward to ordering my celebration jacket, but I'm very surprised and disappointed with the color choice. I thought that the jacket would be yellow or the Boston Marathon blue, but this is far from what I expected. I may not purchase this jacket and wear my 2010 one with pride. December 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by MUCH better in person This jacket is GORGEOUS in person, I love the cuffs, the stripes, and the color is BRIGHT. will be wonderful for evening runs, and just in general. Anyone requesting adidas make these in another color- not going to happen. Do you have any idea how many are already produced? Don't judge it until you see it because its beautiful and I can not wait to wear it! January 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by So disappointed So disappointed when I saw what the jacket looked like on line and even more disappointed when it arrived at my home. The styling is awful, the quality poorer than last years by far and it runs small. No venting on back. Too bad Adidas didn't ask a few runners if they liked it! For what Adidas did for OneFund Boston, I do appreciate, though. December 29, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2014 Boston Celebration Jacket I love the color and the bright energy the jacket Has given me. The support behind this great product Shows in the top quality and care of the products Construction. It is my favorite Adidas Product to wear. Go Team ! March 8, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by meh. ahh man. gosh, i hate to write this. this is my first boston and i could not wait to get a jacket. it's obvious from the listing that it's orange, but let me tell you - it is ORANGE. even my 4-year-old said while i was wearing it in the car, "momma, it's very orange in here." with it being a little less than subtle, i just probably won't wear it too often. was hoping for a jacket that i could wear all the time. i agree with other reviewers, that it would have been nice for such an important year, for the jackets to be more traditional. January 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Style Difficult To Wear I am 36-28-39. The style on this jacket makes me look like a pumpkin with a restricted cut at the armhole. The bottom of the jacket is smaller than the waist area. There is no feminine tailoring, and the cuff sleeve has no thumb hole. I found the sleeve to be short once I bent my arm. No back vent. The fabric was very light in weight. When ordered, the picture showed BAA 26.2 on the collar. The jacket I received had a collar with a different logo. The website was corrected to show the different logo. The BAA 26.2 would have been cooler. The large embroidery on the back had inconsistent thread tension this combined with the color and generic styling made the jacket seem cheap to me. Though I really wanted to own a celebration jacket for my first Boston, I returned the jacket due to style, color, and poor workmanship. January 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by I like the color, but the quality was poor. I was really unhappy with this jacket. But not with the color. I stand firmly behind the awesomeness of highlighter orange. What I thought was lame was that this jacket felt like much lower quality than my other (much cheaper) running jackets. For example, there weren't as many pockets and vents, and the material wasn't as soft. The cuffs were kind of weird, like they were trying to make a cross between a warm-up suit and a running jacket. They are a totally different material from the rest of the jacket. But the part that is making me consider returning it is that the "Boston Runs as One" logo on the back collar is off center. Seriously, this really grates on my nerves. I can't even look at it without feeling irritated. February 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by heartbreak Read reviews before purchase and should have listened. Sizing is large (especially when you are 100 lbs.) with no form for women. The color is even worse in person. There is no BAA 26.2 on the collar as pictured on line. There is the BAA logo in it's place and it is not embroidered. The cuffs have no elastic but a stretchy synthetic fabric added at the wrist area. You would expect thumb holes but there are none. A true dilemma whether to keep or return. December 30, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by 2014 London Marathon Jacket is the Same Adidas made the 2014 London and 2014 Boston official jackets the same. You can go to the London Marathon website and look under the shopping tab and see for yourself. Very disappointed that Adidas didn't do something unique and special for Boston this year. January 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by terrible design I have run 5 Bostons and this may be the worst design yet. Adidas I know you feel the need to change things up every year but I absolutely hate the stripes across the upper arms and back. I made the mistake of purchasing a black long sleeve shirt with white stripes on the tops of the shoulders (2005) and when I wear it I feel like I'm in a sailor costume rather than a running shirt. I'll be back in 2015 and hope you'll be offering something with more traditional colors (royal blue/navy blue/yellow/white). This one just doesn't't feel like Boston at all. March 2, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor color choice the color is horrible. Orange? Really? Boston colors are BLUE and YELLOW, not orange. Ever since Adidas became the official sponsor, the jacket has been a disappointment. The 2009 jacket had the best fit. Since then, the fit of the jacket is poor. Last year I had trouble finding a jacket that would fit, some of the smalls were too small and the medium was just too big. The jacket pockets from 2010 until 2013 are narrow, preventing a runner from placing gloves, tissues, etc. in the pocket without the pocket sticking out from the body. The jackets from 2010-2013 have been narrow in the shoulders and hip area and shorter in the arm length as compared to the 2009 jacket. According to the BAA, Adidas selects a color that is uniform for each Adidas sponsored marathon every year. Adidas does not select a color that is special for the Boston Marathon. Adidas had an opportunity this year to make the runners in the marathon proud to wear an Adidas product. I wish that Adidas could use their manufacturing influence and redesign the 2014 Boston Marathon jacket. The jacket should be Blue and Yellow and have written on the jacket BOSTON STRONG. January 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Grateful This will be my 5th Boston, and my gratitude for even the chance to run, especially this year, continues to grow. This is the first time I've bought the jacket 'before' and I certainly won't wear it until after crossing the finish line, but I'll hang it in full view, until that day, as a tribute to last year's events. To anyone who complains about the color(s), please focus on what matters. I'd wear this if it was the color of dodo. It's the meaning, not the color, or even the style. Thank you, Adidas, and all involved with this incredible event! January 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by So very disappointed I was one of those who didn't get to finish last year, just1.5 miles short. I was so looking forward to getting another jacket for 2014 - a true celebration jacket, but orange? I will add my voice to most of the other reviewers. Please, please design another jacket that will truly reflect Boston Strong for 2014 - not a replica of London with the Boston logo. Truly adidas you can do so much better. February 18, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Love the yellow.....but! Love the bright color so that I can really wear it running and be safe. The collar and cuffs were a disappointment. ( no 26.2 on the back of the neck and the cuffs are a bit cheesy for the price. ) The overall fit is roomy 5'2" 105 in a small...so I which you would consider some XS. I cannot justify the price for a jacket that is not as functional as my others. My hope is that adidas and the BAA can fix some of the issues noted by many reviewers and I will get one at the expo.....happy training...enjoy the process...see you in Hopington!!!! January 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Paying for the 'Prestige', not the Quality Not going to join the HATE-THE-COLORS bandwagon. As a graphic designer, and 3:08 marathoner, I think the colors ROCK and are very sporty. My problem has always been the price vs quality. I wish Adidas would strive to have both match more equally. $110 is simply too high for the construction — however, the company knows it will sell due to being the 'official' gear. February 12, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Boston 2014 The jacket is fine.....it is just a jacket. It doesn't matter the color, style, etc... What matters is that we run as one, and that we all support the city of Boston, as well as the Boston Marathon and BAA:) I ordered mine, and received it before Christmas, but will wait until I cross the finish line on April 21st to wear it with pride and joy!!!!!! Rated 4 out of 5 by Orange fan My first Boston and I couldn't be more pleased with the color. I want people to notice and ask what is says on my jacket because I am more than pleased to tell them I ran the Boston Marathon! In addition, as runners we always want a jacket that is visible and this one definitely catches your eye! I love it! I usually wear a small and it seemed to be narrow in the shoulders will need to return and reorder a medium, bummer. Although with all the snow in Wisconsin it will be a while before I get to wear this jacket around here. January 30, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Yikes Stripes It's a color of orange not found in nature. It is thinner and of lower quality than previous years. It has no vent on the back. No where on the jacket is there a nod to the magnitude of what this year's race means to runners, Bostonians, Americans, and non-evil people everywhere...for instance, maybe a little embroidered phrase like, oh I don't know, maybe "Boston Strong" on the collar or near the cuff? And then there are the stripes...I think they put them there so you wouldn't notice they left out the vent. They are big and reminiscent of the stripes on ski jackets in the 80's, but uglier. It looks like they couldn't decide where to make them stop, so they wrap around the shoulder...weird. In two words..."yikes stripes" or a more updated critique..."epic fail." March 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing Boston is an honor for many of us; wearing the jacket a symbol of our respect for the event. Returning this jacket today. Cut is skimpy and entirely different from previous years (there are 6 Adidas Boston jackets in my closet...). The color of the jacket never pleases everyone, but the quality and sparse cut of the garment are the problem. I'll be there in Hopkinton this spring with a smile and feeling honored to run. Owning the jacket means nothing compared to participating in this reaffirmation of our love of running. January 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just What I Expected First things first: YES this is a bright, almost neon orange jacket. It is more radioactive in person than pictured. But since I run in the dark and don't have a bright jacket, I have no problem with this. I purchased this jacket and the Smarter jacket to compare the two and see which one I preferred. I ended up keeping this one for the following reasons: 1. The quality of materials feels high. It's a thicker jacket so I think I'll get more use out of it on colder runs. It's not insulated but it has a net lining. 2. It has pockets, which the Smarter jacket doesn't. I often end up stowing empty chomp or gu packets in my pockets. 3. Again, I don't mind the color. I'm not wearing it as a fashion statement necessarily and I have the need for a bright jacket for visibility purposes. March 6, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 Was designer unaware? I get the impression this design was created before the 2013 race. There's nothing patriotic about this jacket. I bought it because it's my only choice. Hoping something red white and blue gets offered. Please tell me that's not an iron on logo. January 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by So disappointed! This will be my first (and possibly only) Boston Marathon and I'm gutted to see the ugly design and colour of the jacket. The stripes are hideous and really don't work especially the way they wrap around the front then abruptly end. December 29, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2014 Boston Marathon Jacket I honestly was not excited at first when I saw orange. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bright tangerine color. I love it! We will be a bright sight taking over the streets of Boston! January 5, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Who designed this awful jacket? I thought it was a joke when I heard the colour scheme - but no it really is orange. I thought for certain it would be a classic coloured jacket with Boston Strong included. Disappointed. January 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this jacket! I know there has been a lot of negative comments about this jacket but I love it! The cuffs are great! No more tight elastic around my wrist! The color is awesome even though they are true Boston Marathon colors but that might be because my daughter and son-in-law both graduated from University of Tennessee and they have the same colors. I think it is cut a little small so if you are in between sizes I would choose the larger size. Wear it with pride! April 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Yuck! That color is hideous! December 10, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Restricting I'm just a bit disappointed in this jacket. I like the figure eight fit. This jacket has a weird restricted fit. Please go back to the standard figure 8 fit. I also like the traditional nylon. This type of nylon seems cheap.. April 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than you think! I see a lot of negative comments about this year's jacket. I ordered mine early to avoid the rush and low inventory at the expo. I am pleasantly surprised. Fit is great and the orange is much brighter than on-line, so it's almost neon -- on trend. It looks great with the contrasting blue stripes. Agreed: one simple "Boston Strong" would've improved the jacket for this special year, but not complaining. I'm happy. I'm wearing it -- after the race, of course! March 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed Who approved this design?? January 21, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointing! I ran Boston last year and am back again this year. The color of this jacket is awful. The front side insignia is smaller than last year and there is no year on the collar in back as on last year's jacket. The colors should have been red, white, and blue because the race is in Boston, MA, USA and is a USA icon. I just can't believe that Adidas came up with this instead of presenting a jacket everyone would be proud and thrilled to wear. April 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by So-so I purchased this jacket already. First of all, I actually LIKE the color- but I generally like bright colors. The styling is what I am disappointed with. Like has been mentioned in other reviews, there are no venting flaps like in my 2013 jacket. Another problem that I have not seen addressed is the cuffs. The 2013 jacket has elastic cuffs that go back to their original size even after they have been pushed up. On the 2014 jacket, these elastic cuffs have been replaced by a ribbed cotton that look as though they will stretch out easily and stay that way. I've had this happen with cheaper jackets and I just toss them when this happens, since the cuffs no longer block out wind and end up just flopping around and driving me crazy. I would also hope that, if Adidas changes anything about this jacket, they will make it easy for everyone to exchange them if they wish to. January 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Disappointed... This will be my 3rd Marathon, and a first for Boston. I am very excited to get a jacket and wear it with pride but I can't say I'd wear this with pride. It's ugly. It looks like and inmates jumpsuit. I wanted to be noticed wearing my jacket but I don't want to blind people. I think it was a poor choice. I think the people would have preferred Blue and Yellow, or a red/white/blue theme for a more united feel. January 17, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Are the 80s back? This will be my first time running Boston and was so excited to get the jacket until I saw the jacket. I still had to get it though because it's the official Boston Marathon jacket. It's even brighter in person. Not sure if this is the look the designers were going for, but it definitely looks like an 80s track jacket. I sure hope they pick a better color and design for next year because I will be back. Yay! March 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by I like it! I think I am in the minority here, but I actually like this year's jacket! I am a fan of orange and will use this jacket on my runs, so I think the color is great (makes runners on the road very visible). The Boston Marathon always has changing colors, and I think this is one of the nicer combos. The only thing I am not crazy about is the fact that last year's jacket seems to be higher quality construction. April 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by You missed the point Adidas - Nemo orange? So disappointed in this jacket - This will be my 4th and probably last Boston as a charity runner, I too DNF last year and was waived in. Who approved of this design? Where are the traditional colors? And same as London? Did you have extra fabric, because that's what it seems like. This is supposed our big come back stronger race, but certainly not in Nemo Orange - seriously Adidas and BAA - you missed it! January 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Beyond Disappointed - Same as London jacket! How can Adidas call this the "official" Boston jacket when they have used the same design for the London Marathon jacket? I am beyond disappointed in Adidas. They were given the opportunity to create a special, original jacket that truly celebrates the 2014 event and everything it stands for. They have failed miserably. Adidas, please design an original celebration jacket for the 2014 Boston Marathon. February 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 2014 Boston Marathon Celebration Jacket The color is great and the blue & white stripes go great with it. It's super visible so you won't be missed while wearing it. The cuffs are really nice, like a dri-fit material. It fits really nice. I normally wear a small and I got a medium and it's perfect. I'm super pumped to wear it AFTER I finish the 2014 Boston Marathon. I have the 2013 celebration jacket too and love that one alot as well. April 5, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Overall, I'm quite disappointed. Hate the color! Even brighter orange than it appears on a computer screen. Can hardly see the Boston logo which is a bummer! Quality of this jacket is poor for the price. I am only purchasing this jacket because it is the official Boston Marathon jacket & everyone knows what that means when you wear it. Adidas, you can definitely do better than this! April 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Be Bold, Rock It. I am surprised by the bitterness about this jacket, I almost didn't order it but I'm glad I took the chance. I'm a major clothing snob and once I embraced the bold color, I decided this is a great jacket. The color takes a little getting used to and I would prefer it be a little more fitted but otherwise the quality is great and it accomplishes it's goal... to represent this important race. January 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by It's about an amazing race, not a silly jacket Last year was tragic, this is a new year and a new marathon. The friends and memories you make in your training and run are more important to Boston Strong than the color of a jacket. The fact that an extra 9,000 friends get to run with us is Boston Strong. I will wear mine proudly. With it's bright orange color, people will recognize it for years to come as the year Boston Ran as One. January 15, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Stitching to left of unicorn seems off?? I just received mine and within the white stitching on the logo on the back there's a big vertical line that's pretty apparent. When I zoom in on the jacket image here on the website I think I can see it there too. Does everyone else's jacket have that vertical line within the stitching of the logo on the back? (I'm also disappointed that the Boston Runs as One is a teeny iron on.) February 24, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Glad I ordered it! I was totally on the fence with this year's jacket. Wasn't sure about the color as well as the style. Went ahead and ordered it with the thought that I could always send it back. It's a keeper! I feel I can actually run in it. Fits good. There is a "miss" stitch in the embroidery on the back design. One suggestion would be to let folks know that it's NEON! January 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great jacket I honestly do not understand the reason why people do not like the orange. It looks fantastic with the blue and white and the Boston logo on the back is a source of pride for those of us who are blessed enough to earn the right to wear it. This is my first Boston marathon and I'm thrilled this jacket looks entirely different than those previously made. April 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bright Color Just received my jacket & I do like it! Had read other reviews, the color is brighter than I thought it would be. Have the jackets from the 3 previous races. Would like to have emblem on collar be bigger, and marathon logo on front another color so it would stand out more. I will be proud to wear this one too! Good Luck to all and see you there! March 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love Orange I just ordered mine and I have to say I love orange. I can't wait to get it and start wearing it proudly. I think it better than the green color a few years ago. As long as I keep qualifying I will buy one each and every time no matter what the color. December 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great-looking Boston Jacket I was worried about receiving this jacket as the reviews I had read did not rate it very highly. BUt I was pleasantly surprised when I got it and tried it on. The color is a too bright maybe, but other than that I love how it looks on me. I'm 5"3, 115lbs and it fits great (size small). Very comfortable and warm too. Glad I bought it. February 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not as bad as many reviews Yes, it is indeed bright, but I was honestly expecting something worse. It fits better than last year's jacket - more fitted. I also really like the knit cuffs. As someone who has the 2013 jacket and could not finish, I am actually glad this is a departure from that memory. I can't bring myself to wear the 2013 jacket. March 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love it! I'm very happy with this jacket. Light but warm. Fits really well. And I love the orange. Sure, it's not representative of the red, white and blue passion we are all feeling, but it says something big and bold with it's fiery color. We are fierce and we're a force to be reckoned with. Two thumbs up from this runner! March 7, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Color This is my first and probably only time running the Boston Marathon. I am so proud that I am running it, and I want to show off my accomplishment by wearing my jacket. Except, I absolutely hate the color. I don't think of Neon orange when I think of the Boston Marathon. April 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! Love it! Love it! I needed it to look at for inspiration while training for Boston. Coming back from injury that kept me from running for 33 days--I needed this for my emotional mental health!!! Nice fit. True to size. I love the color. I love the soft fabric of the cuffs of the sleeves. I will save it to wear in Boston! :-) February 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor choice Adidas As many have mentioned here, I was extremely disappointed that the traditional colors were not chosen for this year's design. I really hope that a new option is available by Marathon Monday. This design is not only ugly, it is lackluster and far from a "Celebration Jacket." Poor choice Adidas, poor choice. January 15, 2014
