Rated 4 out of 5 by Has the hardware, but software needs to catch up Let me start off first by saying. Adidas has done what nobody else has. This watch has everything you could want in a fitness watch. It has almost resolved all the issues of the MotoActiv. The only let down and this is my opinion is closed software. This would have suited my purpose if it could be a hybrid fitness tracker and monitor steps + HR. This would totally removed the need of a second device. I don't know if this will be implemented in the future, but it would appeal to more people if the HRM could be used 24/7. Maybe the battery is the limiting factor. November 10, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Start - Not ready The watch does everything it promises with out fault...battery life. I am very active and would want to track heart rate and calories burned often. The battery just cannot keep up with me. If they get that right, this will be a fantastic product. The largest concern when I bought it was will the heart rate monitor be accurate. It is. I was very pleased with the accuracy and the fact that I did not have to wear the watch to tight to get a reading. Good start Adidas. Just address that battery life and you will have a five start product.. November 25, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by No Watch mode / Battery so so Watch looks great! Cool design and look. I am a tall guy and could use one or two more holes on wrist band... I am on the last hole and its tight, but I guess better for the heart rate. Have not been on a run yet, this is the longest winter ever! But got GPS working on a few walks. #1 problem is I wanted this to be a daily use watch. NO always on watch face (old nike +) have to hit the button every time I want to see the time. #2 Battery life is short... even with no watch mode and only looking at the time with the button I don't think it will make a week. Much less if I use GSP. I love all the function , but it still needs the basic function of a watch. March 20, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good product lacking one key feature I very much enjoy this product - great to have both music, heart rate, GPS and stopwatch on your wrist.. One key feature Adidas needs to implement ASAP, however, is a lap timer that restarts the clock every time you press the lap button. This is absolutely crucial for more advanced runners and I am very confused as to why Adidas has not implemented the feature already! November 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great watch, bad battery life This watch is jam packed with features that are great for both the budding and the experienced runner. The optical heart rate monitor is a spectacular alternative to a chest heart rate monitor, sans the chafing caused by the chest monitors. The GPS is incredibly accurate. It takes slightly longer to acquire satellites than I expected, but it seems to get quicker each time I use it. So far my only real issue with the product is the battery life. I have thus far only used the watch on runs that are an hour long. The batter lasts long enough to complete them, but it drops to almost 50% after the runs. I bought the watch to use nordic skiing and my nordic skiing training sessions routinely last longer than 3 hours. I am very unsure if the watch will keep its charge through the whole workout. Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Ready for Prime Time! I have been running many years and Iam former member a college track team. I run 130 miles a month and need good gps watch. My chief complaint of this product is :the charging cradle one of the prongs broke off in the first week therefore cannot charge . No replacement available as this unit is sold no where? The watch itself it's just not ready for prime time . While it has a beautiful display the battery life even when the update is not sufficient. The Heart rate is not accurate at all. I really wanted this watch to be my main running watch. March 13, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wanted to love it It's hard to have a smart run if your heart rate monitor isn't accurate. Unfortunately, the promise of an accurate monitor without a strap still eludes even the great minds at Adidas with this $400 entry. I tested it repeatedly against a Polar Heart Rate monitor, and the Smart Run was up to 40 beats off. The more you move, the less accurate it becomes, kind of defeating the whole purpose of an exercise watch that you are moving. It offers tons of personalized workouts, all based on heart rate zones, that are pretty useless if the device that's telling you to work harder or back off can't get a consistent, reliable indication of just how hard you're working. A Polar Heart Rate monitor is as low as $30, and a Nike + Smart Watch with GPS is $140. Both, much cheaper, are way more accurate and, therefore, useful. I really hope Adidas spends more time getting the heart rate monitor part of this product right. March 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by So far, so...... The reason I purchased this watch is only due to me not liking the traditional chest strap monitor. So far it's ok. I mainly do indoor workouts so I can't comment on the built in GPS to say if it's accurate or not. I can comment on the battery life which last me about 3-4 workout sessions, which I workout about about 1hr -1:25 each so about 5hr-5:30 battery life. For me it serves it's purpose but I Hope they keep updating the firmware to improve battery life. January 12, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very bad choice - GPS constantly falling out in places where the iPhone has a good signal - HR falls out - restarts during the run (probably because of the touch buttons) - Battery life I hope that I get my money back January 2, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great watch for running with I wanted to find something that would allow me to cut the cord from my iPod Shuffle when running and refuse to carry my phone in my pocket or strapped to my arm. This Adidas watch fits the bill perfectly. I pair it with a set of BT earbuds and I have no cords, nothing in my pockets and get music streamed perfectly, saved workouts that include HR, pace, cadence, etc. via the internal GPS and the ability to sync with my online account via WiFi. The mio HR sensor works incredibly well and the watch only needs to be snug, not tight on your wrist. The software could use some updating to improve the user experience but it's not terrible after getting used to the quirks. Easily the best GPS watch available August 19, 2014
