Great product but lousy instructions out of the box.
The first time you try to sync the speed cell with your devise, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT.
Right out of the box it asks you for a password which Adidas does not provide. You have to take the battery out of the Cell for aprox. 30 min. After that period of time, replace the battery in the Cell, try to sync it again and at that point it will allow you to put in a password of your own. Very confusing, and totally unnecessary!!!!!!!
Adidas, are you listening? Provide the password or better instructions!!!!!!
Second time I used it it failed to record anything. I then had to remove/reinstall the battery (once again) and it worked fine for the next game.
I will try it again during tonight's game and hope all the bugs have been ironed out.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by IronSaint Some clunkiness, but VERY solid product
Adidas is a European company. As such - the engineering is sound, but the human touch is not always 100%.
Have heard complaints about quirkiness in the app's UI, or having to remove and re-find a sensor. But all in all, I've found this is a solid piece of kit that can record everything about a workout and analyze it after the fact, or coach me through it in real time.
It tells me in pace, and in calories what's going on - as opposed to "points" or some artificial measure. And as something not reliant on a constant sync - if for some reason the iPod can't find it, I can still retrieve my data off the shoe later (with the USB dongle).
I bought this, and I bought the heart rate monitor with USB dongle - and between these my performance at running has SKYROCKETED, as well as my interest in and motivation in running. That in and of itself is worth 5 stars - anything that keeps aerobic-averse me running at the top of my ability week to week has an element of sorcery.

I got the speed cell and was really excited it wasnt as good as i expected it to be. I never had any syncing problem so i wouldnt worry about that. The real problem is that it doesnt record data as accuratly as it should.

Hi guys
I am disappointed with Adidas on this one. The concept is great, and when the product has worked (once), the results and information that it collected was fantastic and very useful!
What I am disappointed in, is you can only choose to sync the data on an iPhone or computer, there is no physical capability to do both, only through "cloud" can you do both.
I think that there should be an interface on the device that will allow the user to choose where they would like to sync the information.
Secondly I think that there needs to be an on and off switch on the device, so that there is more precise information collected, if I have the device on and I stop running for 5 minutes in the game, how does the Micoach know that I have stopped running all together.
The on/ off switch would also allow users to know that the device is not syncing due to battery rather than not knowing if the device is even on, the other option could be that there is a little symbol in the iPhone that shows that the device is on.
As far as UI goes, the set up and simplicity of the device is great, and the concept is fantastic, its the usability that is what its tricky. I have only been able to sync one game and nothing else, and this is frustrating.
I will admit that the device fits perfect in all the shoes I have both runners and boots, and not once have I noticed the device in my boots.
I think that the instructions need to be a little more complex so that users can trouble-shoot before needing to reach out to a forum- like I have needed to do.
So in summary- needs to be able to be turned on and off
Needs to be able to display when on
Needs to be able to sync with users choice of device i.e- iPhone and computer.
Need more complex instructions.
If you want more feed back please e-mail me.

When first buying Micoach I was worried by some of the reviews claiming that the speed cell did not sync. I have had a great experience with the Speed Cell using it with my iphone. The online program took a few days to figure out but has more features than i expected. I have worn it with the lace clip during games and I don't think it should ever fall off. Overall great product!

Overall, this product exceeded my expectations. With the ability to become compatible for more than just running and of course soccer, this product is definitely worth the money. With exceptional results and easy usage, mi Coach gets two thumbs up.

i really haven't had any problems with the micoach. the buying of it was worth it. I play soccer 4 times a week and it hasn't been a hassle using the app or keeping it in my shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Lane Good miCoach software needs work.
I bought the miCoach for tennis a week ago. After waiting a week for the app to be updated, I could finally sign in today.
Now, I can't pair the device to the iPhone using the app even when the device is sitting directly on top of the iPhone.
The app itself makes you go through way too many screens just to get to the settings.
I want my money back.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by BDieni Never worked
Wish I could write a glowing review for this product but unfortunately the dongle never paired with the speed_cell so I have no idea how great a product this could have been. Went through a lot of trouble shooting but ultimately had to return it. I am going to try the PC/Mac version and hope for better results. Wouldn't spend the time on this one.

This would be the second Speed Cell I have purchased, neither has worked. I have the heart rate monitor and the pacer wit a speed cell, and those are fantastic, but the individual speed cell has been a major disappointment. Neither device is(was) not detected by my iPhone. I have kept the second one, because I can use the iPhone dongle with my heart rate monitor.

Disappointed to report that, despite extensive attempts, could not get the device to pair with the iPhone. What a bummer!

I got this to use on the tread mill since I can't use GPS. It connects well about 80% of the time. The other 20% is a pain because I have to keep messing with the connect receiver, restart app, or just fool with it to get it to work. Replaced the battery the second day I had it because I thought that was the reason it was so finicky. Overall I would recommend, but it will not always be worry free to use.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by tod this product simply does not work
my experience with this product is exactly like the dozens of other reports out there
After hours spent jacking with it, changing battery, uninstalling re-installing, having to log in every single time...
i've only successfully gotten it to 'analyse' my match data twice, amazingly, after at least 10 attempts each time, probably 20
i'm about to pitch it

Did not work out of the box. Put in a fresh battery and it linked for 1st 5 minutes of a run then died. Has never connected again. I am going to hold onto it in the hopes that a fix comes out eventually.

The idea and product is good, but its functionality is not consistent. The product is hard to pair and very difficult to sync on a regular basis. Waste of money.
