Rated 1 out of 5 by Supernova Sequence 6 - too many changes from 5 I am a woman but have worn Supernova Sequence men's running shoes for over five years. They have been a blessing to my racing and casual running life! Unfortunately the changes made to the shoe for the 6 model are not up to par and I'm finding myself having to search for a new shoe. The shoe has gotten more narrow, and one thing I loved about this shoe was how wide it was for my bunions. I also feel like my heel wants to slip out, especially with my custom orthotics, a problem I never had in the past with the 5 model and older. I am disappointed with the 6. Hopefully the 7 will go back to some of the old features so I do not have to find a new shoe! October 21, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 Why change something great? Based on the shoe alone, I would give this shoe a 3/5, but compared to past versions, my disappointment makes me want to give it a 1 or 2. The sequence has always been a shoe with lots of loyal followers, and I've never been disappointed with what Adidas has created. I just don't understand why this year, they would make such drastic changes to the shoe we all love. If you are a lover of the Sequence 4's or 5's, don't buy this shoe. It will leave you disappointed. I just order another pair of Sequence 5's, and I'm going to try to wait until next year, when hopefully Adidas will realize their mistake and make the next model more similar to the traditional Sequence shape and feel. Disappointed. July 14, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Changed the shoe I had the supernova sequence 3's and 4's. Missed out on the 5's. The 6's don't fit my foot the same. The arch feels lower and the toe box seems a bit looser. The main issue is it feels like my heel is going to pop out and they constantly pull the heel of my sock down! Drives me crazy! They're comfortable as far as cushioning goes and I like the style and colors. I'm going to return them I think. Sad face. July 2, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by new design does not fit, too narrow i have worn adidas supernova sequence or adistar for over 8 years. i went to buy new pair today and was disappointed that the new shoe was too narrow. my foot was literally hanging over the side of the shoe. there were not many options for a stability shoe by adidas. now, there are none. July 23, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by 2 Thumbs Down Big fan of the Supernova Sequence 4 and bigger fan of the 5. Huge disappointment with the 6. The shoes feel like there is no support/cushion. After a run of different distances, both knees and lower legs were sore and I was in pain. After putting 50 miles on the shoes, I changed to a different brand but similar to the 5 and the soreness and pain went away. August 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sequence 6 trial No comparison to Sequence 5 fit - significantly too narrow for my feet. I went online and bought a couple of pairs from Amazon at discounted price. If you really love Sequence 5 try your luck online. I hope Adidas go back to the 5 shoe last. The 6 also looks cheaper (but good design) because of imprinted highlights instead of sewn. I don't mind paying more for another brand/style that fits like the 5. October 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoe! This is a great shoe. It is lighter than the 5, yet provides similar support. It also fits my (rather wide) foot MUCH better than the 5, which I found had too much room (i.e., bulkiness) in the toe box. Note that the laces tend to undo, however, so prepare to double knot. FYI: I run 3 x week, 7 - 11 miles (asphalt and dirt). October 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Light weight support shoe I have wore several of the Supernovas and now the Sequence. The weight difference between the Sequence 5 & 6 is very noticeable, but the support doesn't change. August 13, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Don't like the change I have been wearing versions of the supernova sequence for YEARS.....multiple marathons and halfs. This change was just too much for me - too narrow. I have order a sequence 5 and am returning the 6. Hopefully the next version will be closer to the previous versions! September 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe By far the best adidas runners I have purchased. I definitely recommend these for recreational and training purposes. August 30, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Responsive stability I must say that I am a bit surprised about the low rating of this shoe. The opinions are clearly split, with either very low or very high ratings. I have worn the Supernova Sequence in many of its installations and I believe that this is the best version yet. I last owned version 4 (never wore version 5), but the Sequence 6 is indeed a fairly substantial departure from the Sequence 4. It is lighter, with a straighter last, less heel lift and better flexibility. Despite the lighter weight the shoe is as stable as ever, but it is clearly geared to a faster running style; it is less of a clunker. As I have grown older the transverse arches of my feet have fallen and there is now more pressure on my metatarsal bones. The lower heel lift shifts the pressure from the forefoot to the midfoot and has definitely improved my running comfort. I also run more efficiently in these shoes than the Sequence 4, or even the Adistar Salvation. The upper fits more snugly and it also does not come up as far on my foot. I prefer this fit, but others obviously do not. I have had no problems with my feet slipping out of these shoes while running. This is a great shoe. It may not be what traditional Supernova Sequence buyers prefer, but I hope adidas continues making this shoe in one form of another. February 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoe I have run in the sequence since the third generation. Good cushioning and a smooth ride and not too heavy. They have just the right amount of support for me. I am a mild pronator and other shoes that correct this have too much support and cause me pain in the ankles and shins. I bought this pair for casual wear because they are so comfortable and the color was bad either. I bought the tech grey / infared. March 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by The jury is still out on the Supernova Sequence 6 One of the firmest shoes in my arsenal. I disagree with your description of the shoe being light, cushioned, and flexible. It is a comfortable fit and protective from ground elements. To clarify my opinion I've only run a few miles in them. I wish you guys provided more information on your shoes; motion control, stability, suggested body types, suggested foot type, ect..... December 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A change in design but still great! Just like the other reviewers here I was initially disappointed to find the Adidas Supernova Sequence had been slightly redesigned in this version 6 of the running shoe. I've used all of the previous versions of these shoes and always found they provide great support while not being too bulky. The supernova sequence 6 still carry on this tradition and in fact improve on these characterstics by being slightly lighter in weight. As others have mentioned, the heel of the supernova 6 is lower than before which initially feels like your heel isn't as supported or cushioned. This feeling was quickly remedied by threading the laces through the very last hole and then back though the second to last hole. When tightened and knotted this causes the heel of the shoe to be pulled slightly forward and creates a more snug fit around your heel. I didn't find any problem with the width of the shoe...it did seem slightly narrower but then perhaps the previous supernova sequences were a little too wide and I'd never really noticed. Altogether another great running shoe from Adidas which I hope will support me over the next year of running. August 27, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Supernova Sequence 6 The Supernova 6 is a new design of the Sequence shoes. The portion of the shoe where the heel sits is now very shallow and as a result, my foot slips out of the shoe. I had to return the shoes as a result of the shallow heel. Also, the Sequence 6 is now only available in gaudy colors. I have used previous Sequence versions 3 thru 5 that were very good. December 13, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Only ok I WAS a supernova fanatic. Earlier models were a blessed relief when wearing them whether running or just around town. These aren't in that class. I don't know what's different but I'm hoping they go back to what worked in earlier versions. I will try the 7s when they come out but if they aren't better, I'll be forced to look elsewhere. March 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Shoes These shoes are a good mix of lightweight and cushioning. I use them for walking, and light running. I have several pairs of adizero running and golf shoes and love their light weight and comfort. These shoes add a little more support and cushion for long walks etc. Not the best shoe Adidas makes, but for $60, you really can't go wrong. March 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Supernova Sequence 6 I buy nothing but adidas and always have. I've never found a shoe feel or fit better. These new supernova sequence 6 shoes are probably my favorite adidas I've owned. They literally give me a spring to my step and feel like I'm walking on air. Absolutely love them and this will not be the only ones I own. I'll definitely buy the again. March 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by 2nd chance I wasn't happy with the first pair of Sequence 6's that I bought. Recently I tried on a pair and lo and behold they feel better. I seems as if a slight amount of padding has been added to the heel, the heel is also a bit higher. They are still a bit narrow in the toe box, but workable. At this point I am wearing them and happy. January 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Mesh at toe separates from toe cover I have had 2 supernova glides, 5 and 6, very comfortable and good shoes, BUT BOTH had the mesh develop small holes and seam separation at the left toe area within 5 month in one case and 1 month in the other!!! I don't even run! Just walk in them. Bad design. will never buy a glide model again! Frustrated! October 19, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shoes I Ordered The only issue I had with this order is that I thought the shoes would be gray and red (which is what it looked like on the web) but they were grey and orange which was described as Grey/Metallic silver. After a few days I decided to keep them and went out and bought some clothes to match. Brian March 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst addidas shoes ever! I bought a pair of supernova 6 based on the great reviews of previous supernova shoes. It has been the worst shoes I have ever used in my life. The shoes' sole is completely worn down after only 5 months and less than 50 miles. I sending them back to addidas for a full refund. April 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by First Taste Lightweight and comfortable. I went from the salvation 2 in an E width. The Sequence 6 doesnt have quite the pronounced arch support but its close. I probably should have gotten these in the E width as well. I'll know tomorrow after I put about 10 miles on them...wish me luck January 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid Kicks I replaced a pair of Asics with these and was really pleased. Awesome cushioning in the heel and for my foot at least, I didn't find them to be too narrow. My second time wearing them, I did an 8 mile run without having any new shoe discomfort. March 13, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Narrow Bought these for my son, will be returning them. They are suppose to be for people with flat feet, his feet are wide in the arch area because of this, therefore they are way to narrow! Don't buy if you have flat feet. September 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Stability first The 6's are the first version of the Sequence line I've worn so I can't compare them to prior versions but, I do agree with the reviews I've read about the heel being loose and somewhat low. The Sequence 6's have a stiffer, less cushioned feel than the Glide 5's I also own but they provide noticeably more support. Some reviewers have found Sequence 6 to be narrower than prior versions and this is probably true but I find they fit fine width-wise. I bought my normal size 13 but the 12 1/2's would have probably fit better as the RunnersWorld review predicted. The Glide 5's fit me well in size 13. Aside from the heel issue, I find I have to double-tie the slick laces and ensure they are tight or they come undone mid-run, very annoying. I did a 2 hr run yesterday and they didn't come undone so it is avoidable. Like most runners I prefer more cushioned shoes but at 212 lbs I eventually begin to get arch and heel issues without the firmer support and pronation control I find in shoes like the Sequence 6. Hopefully, a mix of the Sequence and the Glide will keep the aches away. March 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoes I was hesitant of buying this shoes when I read the comments, but glad I took the risk. First, it's true to size. Second it's very light and very pleasing to the eye. They are my latest running shoes. March 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good one,but expected better These are my first running shoes ever. Very soft, and comfortable. What i didn't like, it was the heat. It was not actually breathing,it was rather hot in these shoes. Idk, is it supposed to be so? March 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sequence 6 Comfortable. Good support. Seems like each sequence gets uglier. I wish they would stop trying to redesign it (making the colors flashier and flashier). January 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very light and comfy All my neighbors gave me complements on my shoes. I got the bright orange/silver and great reflectors, perfect for running in the woods. March 13, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Run away Like many who buy these shoes, my feet overpronate, typically wearing out the insides of my shoes within about a month with minimal use. After having searched and gone through other brands of shoes claiming to help with overpronation, I ran (no pun) across the Adidas Supernova Sequence 3. With light use at the gym (30min cardio, 4x a week), these shoes lasted 2+ years and were still helping to correct my overpronation just as if they were fresh out of the package. They looked really dirty, though, so I bought a pair of Sequence 6s. The Supernova Sequence 6, like many have noted here, are much different. They're not as comfortable, they are more cheaply made (the rubber sole started to tear apart within a month under the same activity I'd worn the Sequence 3's during), and at the 3 month mark, while the exterior of the shoes looked practically new, these shoes were rubbing blisters into my toes and the interior fabric was worn away, as is typical with shoes I've bought in the past that did not correct for overpronation. Long story short, I'm not sure what all changed, but the Sequence 6 clearly are not the same quality and were not designed as well as previous models. I was lucky enough to find a pair of Sequence 4s in my size and had them mailed from some little shoe shop in Germany. They feel nearly as good as the Sequence 3s, but when those wear out, I'm extremely wary of supporting whatever new model of Supernova Sequence is out by then, given how poorly the 6s ended up being done. March 25, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as well suited to marathon distances as the 5 I'm on my 2nd pair of Adidas Sequence 5s, which I love, and I recently bought a pair of Sequence 6s so that I'd have a relatively low mileage shoe for my first full marathon. Here is what my experience has been with the Sequence 6: *They look great. *The heel slips, particularly when you are first breaking them in. After switching to the back eyelets and tying them slightly differently than I do the 5s, they started to slip less. After breaking them in over several short runs, they slipped even less still. *After breaking them in, I wore them on my first 26 mile training run... they are not as cushioned as the 5s, which I wore a few weeks before on a 23 mile run. *They did an acceptable job for miles 0-20. At mile 20, my left foot started to swell just a little. As the outer edge of my foot felt like it was being broken in half for the last six miles, it dawned on me that they made it just a bit too narrow. *Curious to see if the same thing would have happened in my 5s, I tried retying the 6s several times when I got home and compared them to putting the 5s on my aching foot. The 6 was noticeably narrower around the base of the fifth metatarsal. *I will still wear them for 1/2 marathon and below runs and really like the shoes, but the marathon will be run in a pair of Sequence 5s with 200 miles on them instead of trusting the 6s. *Did I mention that they look great? Fit-to-Size is consistent with other Adidas running shoes for me, which means I like to add 1/2 size to my typical shoe size. I have relatively narrow, long feet. December 26, 2013
