Rated 3 out of 5 by Not as Good as the Supernova Glide 3 After being a mostly Nike guy , I tried the Glide 3's , a couple of years ago, and was very impressed. Probably the best shoe I have owned. I was looking forward to the same... or improved characteristics in the 5. I went to the Adidas Outlet, but they did not have any Glide 5's. So, I ordered online. But, the shoe doesn't have the arch support of the 3 (height and location). It has less shock absorption than the 3 (heel and mid-foot). And it fits much wider through the mid-foot area. I sent them back, today, at a cost of $12. Very disappointed and wondering what shoe to buy now. March 8, 2013

Lots of cushioning, like walking on air I've never put much thought into running shoes, other than getting a color, size, & style I like until I went to Road Runner Sports to get fitted. This is one of the shoes they recommended for my particular foot type. After getting these shoes, my feet feel better, my knees don't bother me after running, and I'm able to run longer on the treadmill. The cushioning in these shoes is fantastic. Everyone's going to have a different shoe that works for them, but I must say I'm impressed with the quality of Adidas' product. If you are in the market for a new pair of shoes, get them fitted properly at a running store. It makes such a huge difference. I wish I'd appreciated the difference sooner. February 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoes for a big guy! This is my second pair of Supernova Glides. The construction of these shoes outperforms any other shoe I have ever owned. When I bought my first pair, my shin splints, knee and foot pain disappeared. With my newest pair, the pain has stayed away. My gate improved because my body was no longer compensating for aches and pain. I will never buy another brand of shoe as long as these are around. I've tried many brands of shoes which never lasted and did not supply near the comfort as these. Adidas has earned my business for life at this point. Money well spent. February 20, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Different and Worse from Previous Models This shoe is totally different from the previous Supernova models. It sits lower on your ankle and the tongue is shorter. The earlier models were my favorite shoes I had for five years. I returned these after two days because of the pain my feet experienced. If you are an early model Supernova wearer, do not get these. Light, great built quality, very good fit for my foot, feels like running on air cushion, but what impressed me most is the performance on hard surface like concrete, absolutely no problem there, feels soft and secure. I see that people here give bad review because it doesn't fit them well, but in my opinion it is not the design fault but rather depends on how your foot is shaped. March 17, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not the fit I was expecting I am a big fan of my previous shoe - Gilde 2 and decided to upgrade. Coming from a 11.5 size previously, I ordered it online only to find out the size was bit loose for me. Adidas was kind enough to send a 11 with no shipping charges, the size was ok but it was nowhere near as comfortable like Glide 2. I chose to return it back, this time paying for the shipping. I am not sure what is wrong but disappointed for sure. February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good running/workout shoe Very comfortable and fits the foot well. The heel can be a bit low but if you use all of the lace spots the foot gets sunk into the shoe and heel will stay put. I am a regular runner and love adidas running shoes this one outperforms the shoe it replaced easily. The sole has good flex and is soft on the foot without making it too tired. There is good support for the arch and sole and the material is holding up well. I would say if you are looking for a good all around shoe this is great. May 25, 2013

I am a heavy individual with some 238 pds to carry over a 1:55, half marathon, I need a good shoe...........this one looks to continue the tradition. Rated 5 out of 5 by Super Running Shoe I've been a longtime Nike wearer. I purchased the Supernova Glide 5 to use as an alternative distance shoe for training runs. The Supernova has quickly become my go to shoe. The sole is more firm than a typical Nike shoe and it feels great. My impression is that the firmer sole makes my running more effortless. At the same time, I don't feel like I've sacrificed any cushioning. I am super happy with the purchase. February 8, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by I received a defective item. I was disappointed when I discovered a defective part. A small yellow part of left shoe was ran on black part. I tried to clear it, but it was impossible. However, I didn't return it because I didn't want to spend more time to return and order a new item and the other things were OK and I was satisfied about design. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fourth Generation I have a pair of Glide 2, two pairs of Glide 3, one pair of Glide 4 and now a pair of Glide 5. After reading reviews and trying on samples I chose a 9.5 instead of a 10 and the fit was great. This is a far better shoe than the 3... and better construction than the 4. I have to say, however, that the 2s were amazing and still get significant wear. Overall I love the update. March 12, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cushion Superior cushion shoe for the neutral runner. Supernovas commonly need replacing after the 400 mile mark which can make them a pricey trainer. Supernova Glides (previously Supernova Cushions) have been an adidas staple for 10+. Solid, reputable, comfort trainer. April 5, 2013

This shoe does both. it's a little pricey but it's been well worth the money to not feel pain in my heels after running. March 8, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 first impressions are great Just went out for a run in my new Glide5's I've been running in Asics 2170s for about 9 months and these are my first cushion shoe. The fit is really comfortable snug, and I get the felling that when they're broken in they're not going to get too loose and sloppy like my Asics did!! The ride is really smooth and the grip is amazing! you can feel the continental soles propelling you along the asphalt with every step, and they felt good on the trail too. without even trying I took over 30 seconds off my previous 5km time. They're not the lightest of shoes but have a really comfy and smooth ride, excuse the pun but they really do feel like your gliding along! this shoe is a perfect recovery shoe, I run about 80-110kms per week as I'm training for a 100Km ultra and will be looking forward to putting these on for my middle distance and slow recovery runs. My only complaint is that they haven't got the most breathable upper, it will be interesting to see they fair with a marathon distance. But as I said before they do have a really snug fit. Summing up I'm really happy with my first impressions and cant wait to give them a proper test. May 21, 2013
