Rated 5 out of 5 by One of the best shoes I've had First of all, a little bit of background. I am a 10K recreational runner, and from time to time I would do up to a 10Mi run. Most of the time I run out on a trail with very few treadmill runs. Also I have some runner knee problems on the left leg and I use orthotics. This condition requires me to use running shoes who offer good support and reduce the impact on my legs while running. Some of the shoes I've tried feel really hard, but these ones feel so comfortable and the materials are top of the line. I took them for several runs and they offer great support and cushioning. I've had no pain or problems at all with them so far! Aside from the comfort, the shoes look and feel great! The materials are very resistant, I've had them for a couple of weeks and they look great (I do clean the dirt after each run). Also, I like to do max interval training, and I've taken these shoes to the gym and the response is just as good! I don't get any chaffing and my feet feel great after taking them off. If you like to do different kinds of drills and are a passionate runner who wouldn't mind some extra comfort while doing so, then you should get this pair of shoes! As a note, you should order half size up for great fit. February 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the price. Review of the Adidas Energy Boost. I did not know what to expect when I received these shoes. They were not out yet, so when I opened the box my first reaction was one of surprise when I saw how good these look. I proceeded to try them on, and noticed something unusual. There are only 4 pairs of eyelets for the shoelaces. That seemed a little strange to me, especially for a performance shoe, in which you expect to have a customized fit. As soon as I finished tying the shoelaces I understood why there are only 4. The upper part of the shoe is made of a material that compresses your feet, in a good way. I guess a way to describe how they feel is kind of like a performance running sock, with a major difference. These shoes, despite hugging your feet, are extremely comfortable. I have read online that the most remarkable feature about these shoes is the breakthrough technology of the sole material, and I will get to that in a minute, but to me the upper materials are just as extraordinary. I am very particular with how my shoes fit. In running shoes, I like the fit to be snug but I have to be able to wiggle my toes. What’s amazing about the material they have developed is that it hugs your feet but at the same time you have considerable freedom of movement. I also thought that the material might give in and be less supportive after some use, but that has not happened yet. They are as supportive as the day I first tried them on. And then there is the midsole. Wow. It looks like Styrofoam, but it is obvious that this material is very different from what is used in all the shoes I have worn before. Two characteristics are worth mentioning. First, the cushioning it provides. Whether I was walking or running, it felt like I was on clouds. This made for a very comfortable, forgiving ride. And then there is the recoiling action of the material. When you impact the ground, the shoes rebound as if you were jumping on a trampoline. The combined effect is a very positive one. So those are the positives. The shoe is not perfect, of course. I do not have wide feet, and still the tongue of the shoe let my socks show because it is not wide enough. The sides of the tongue have a zigzagging shape. Because of this, parts of my socks showed through. It is not a lot, but still. One way for this not to be an issue is to wear socks of the same color as the shoes. In my case, the shoes are black, so with black socks this is not a problem. Another thing I would change is the color of the midsole. I have never been a fan of white midsoles, because while they might look good when they are new, I find it works against them after you wear them a few times. I understand why these shoes have a white midsole, though. I am pretty sure it is so that we can see the new material. I just hope they make these with darker-colored soles in the future. So the question to me is, Are these worth the $150 Adidas is asking for? To me, the answer is yes. These are, by far, the best running shoes I have tried. Whether you spend this much on a pair of athletic shoes depends on whether you want to have the very best there is. If you are serious about your running or about how comfortable your sneakers need to be, then yes, these are totally worth it. You are basically paying a $20-30 premium to have the very best. Full disclosure: I was given these shoes by Adidas to try them and write a review. They specifically asked me to be sincere and not to artificially embellish the review. I do not work for Adidas, and actually was quite surprised that they chose me to review these. February 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by These Shoes Are Unfair I feel like I'm cheating the system and being allowed to wear a product that gives me an unfair advantage. The first time I put them on I thought I was jumping on tiny trampolines that followed my feet around. The cushioning is unlike any other shoe I've ever worn and that's including shoes that I've put cushioned insoles in. I just hope they stay this bouncy for as long as they claim to. The price, initially seems like way too much for what you think is just another running shoe, but I'll tell you it is more than justified. Worth every penny. A million thumbs up. An outstanding product. Thanks, Adidas. Well done! March 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Like running on a cloud I had the privilege of trying these shoes before they were released, so after a few weeks of use I can recommend them highly. They're the lightest running shoes I've ever owned and my feet can tell. The best part is that the decreased weight does not come at the expense of comfort and support; the foam soles perform just as well as thicker/heavier soles. Not to mention, the Boost's futuristic new look matches its technological advances. A note on sizing: my 'true' size is 11, but I buy 11.5 to adjust for swelling when I run. I received my trial Boost pair in 11.5, and in normal-thickness socks it felt a bit tight. With thinner socks, however, it fit just right. March 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceeded Expectations I have been searching quite a while trying to find a running shoe that was both light and comfortable. Enter the Adidas Energy Boost. This shoe is the perfect mix of weight and comfort. I couldn't believe how much cushion they provided when I first tried them on. I felt like I was bouncing up and down in these shoes. Running in them is fantastic. My legs feel notably less fatigued than usual. In addition they fit like a glove (gave me zero blisters) and took no time at all to break in. I must admit that I never tried running in Adidas before this. I have used Nike, Asics, and Brooks in the past but from now on these Adidas are my go to running shoes. March 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Shoes I've Ever Run In! The title is my review. I'm not going to get all techical here, all I have to say is over the past 21 years I've run in a lot of different running shoes (I have 5 pairs going rght now!# and the Boost is by far the best ever. Out of the box I took them out for 8.5 hilly miles at a good clip and I was in heaven. And for all of the rest of the running shoe companies that are knocking out 4mm heel drop shoes left and right #you know who you are) you can stick em! We're talking 10mm! Aside from the cushioning, no seams and perfect fit that alone makes this a great shoe! I'm clearly not a fan of flat running shoes. Buy the Boost! March 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Energy Boost Shoes review The heel of the shoe is cushioned and the shoe becomes more responsive through the mid-sole and stiff in the toe region. You will notice this could potentially be a sock less shoe. The tongue is attached to the sides and is seamless, very nice. Good arch support. I think this would be good for running 10 miles or less. You could run more, but this is my opinion. Adidas got it right with the top cloth and how it wraps around the foot. The toe box does raise some concern as it sorta/barely touched my toes. Again, good for 5/10k stuff but marathons... maybe. Very comfortable. If you are a heel striker and like a low drop shoe, you will love this. March 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Big man runner This shoe was a game changer for me. I have large feet (size 15) so finding a comfortable lightweight running shoe is very difficult. I fell in love with the fabric upper sock which I found super comfortable and breathable. The toe-box area is very nice. I usually find shoes that are more narrow and as my mileage increases, my toes become numb, but these were much roomier and allowed me to comfortably run more miles. I was a little nervous to switch to these shoes having ran in the Supernova Glide, but they have now been replaced by the Energy Boost. February 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too much drop I love the new sole material and the upper. The shoes were very comfortable. There is quite a bit of drop from heel to toe. I run about 25-30 miles a week and will do a 5k in a zero or near zero drop shoe. I do most of my running in a structured cushioning shoe, but one with less drop from heel to toe. Running 6-8 mile runs in the energy boost I have had some soreness in my knees that I don't have with shoes with less drop I would love a pair with less drop then could see 5 stars. If your current shoe has a fair amount of drop I would gives these a try. If you prefer a zero or low drop shoe, this one is not for you. April 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by New runners I was surprised when I opened them..the styrofoam jumps out at you along with the thin bottom layer. I immediately wondered how long will these last. Yes they look cheap. And for $150 or so they were not. On to the fit..they feel like putting your foot in a rubber bootie. If you have ever been diving or snorkeling these shoes are made from the same rubber elastic material. As far as performance they are actually pretty good so far. Again I've run in them for just two weeks now but they feel ok. Support is lacking but overall comfort is there. I don't know that I would buy them again. for the same price. IMO they are more in the $75 price range. April 12, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe! I am a female who wears men's shoes for the extra width due to the problems with my feet, neuromas and planters fasciitis. Despite having neuroma surgery on both feet, I'm still having pain and burning. I have a hard time changing shoes and finding shoes that work with my issues. I run an average of 15-20 miles per week and these shoes are great! My legs feel like I never even ran when I'm done. I've had some of my best runs of my career with these shoes! I just shaved 1:30 off of my 5K personal best. Amazing! Although my neuroma continues to bother me, my PF seems to be getting better. I did go a full size up to give me a bit more width, since it is a narrower shoe. April 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Fit! I haven't had the chance to run in them yet so I am only reviewing the fit and feel of the shoes so far. I was a little concerned after reading reviews that I might have ordered shoes that would be too small for my feet. As a size 13 its hard to buy shoes here in Japan so ordering is the way to go. Other reviews and the webpage for the shoes even said to order a half size up, but as a13 the next size up is 14. I wasn't comfortable ordering a whole size up for a running shoe. Long story short, perfect size for my size 13 feet. The cushioning is amazing and I am looking forward to my first outdoor run of the spring with these shoes. March 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the try I have been an Nike loyalist for many years. I was willing to give these shoes a shot since they were offered to me to demo. I hit the treadmill usually twice a day, I found these to offer good support and some spring to my step. My feet often get fatigued by the end of an hour and I would say that since wearing the shoes that occurs less. Nothing a shoe will cure, but it helped. Definitely order a half size up, I was skeptical but glad I did! Good work on this shoe Adidas. February 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good shoe These shoes are very nice. Very light weight and comfortable. I ran multiple times with these shoes and did standard weight workouts with them as well to break them in. The light weight and spongy soul make it very easy to run on all terrains. I also used them in the P90X Plyometric workout (jump training) that I do for some extra cardio work and the shoes are very springy for the workouts where you are leaving your feet quite often. The light weight feel for that type of workout makes it feel almost barefoot. I would definitely recommend these shoes to runners. February 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Amazing Cushioning in a Lightweight Package My first impression is they look awesome!!! When I first tried them on they fit a little snug, but that seems to be the trend these days. They have a lower toe box which gives them more of a slipper feel. They have a great feel on the road though. Phenomenal cushioning. I do most running on concrete/ashalt and they are super comfortable. They seem to have less stability than the Sequence, which is my go to running shoe. I have been using these though for speedwork and they will work great for racing! February 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe But... It lacks in arch support. This shoe targets my mid calf. I've had two incidents in this shoe that have forced me to take a few days off. I don't blame the shoe. I just think it targets different muscles than the Glide 4 did. They are light and they look great. Not bulky. I would recommend a slower warm up pace first time out. Feel the shoe out. My normal pace is right around seven min/mi, so my first time out I was a bit anxious thinking I would be impervious to injury in this shoe. Not the case. I'm saying this as a constructive feedback. I love the shoe. April 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Running Shoes I am not an athlete or very frequent runner but I feel that no matter what I want the greatest running shoes and these shoes are amazing. I have tried many other brands of running shoes and Adidas have always been very good to me. I was able to run the 1&1/2 mile for my semi annual fitness test much faster with these. They really do have a springy effect and have plenty of cushion and grip but are lightweight. I am really glad they mentioned to get a 1/2 size up otherwise they would have been too small. They look good too. The only con is the "Energy boost" text on the sole came off really quickly but that's no big deal. A great running shoe, would buy again. April 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I couldn't be happier! So, I bought these shoes 2 months ago from Adidas's website. I wanted to wait until I did a couple races before reviewing them. As the title says, I could not be happier with the purchase. The day after I unboxed these and took them out for their inaugural run I set a PR for the 5k distance. Since then I've set 3 other PR's in the 1mile, 10k, and half marathon distances ranging from 1-5mins. When I'm running in these it just seems easier and effortless. Also, I don't seem to have as much muscle fatigue after runs. Anyway, that's my personal experience with these shoes. Oh, and about the sizing. I ordered the same size as my last pair of shoes. I didn't go a half size bigger and they fit me great. May 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by By far, the best pair of shoes I have ever run in. These shoes are incredible. They run kinda small, so you should definitely order a half size up in your normal adidas shoe size. But overall, they are awesome. I could actually feel my energy returning to me. I'm serious. And once you break them in, I'm sure they fit better and are easier to put on your feet then. 2 thumbs way up to these incredible running shoes (y) (y) :). February 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Energy Boost I have been running for over 30 years and have never experienced a shoe quite like the new Adidas Energy Boost. As Adidas has asserted, this shoe is truly revolutionary, a "game changer". Not only do these shoes offer unprecedented and unheralded support and cushioning with great breathability, but the uppers fit my feet like a glove. Furthermore, all this is achieved in an extremely lightweight, yet structurally sound, package. I run between 60 to 70 miles per week and have experimented with everything from Five Fingers to my now ex-favorites-Asics Gel Kinsei 4-and I can honestly and unequivocally say I have never run in a better fitting, more comfortable and more explosive shoe. My only minor criticism is that the tongue of the shoe could have been made a bit wider at the top as the laces initially "cut" into the top of my foot. This, however, was easily corrected by utilizing the additional uppermost eyelet provided at the top of the shoe. As a matter of fact, I was so impressed by this shoe that after running in it for only 3 days and 30 miles, I purchased another pair. These are going to be an extremely tough act for Adidas' competitors to follow. Ausgezeichnet! March 8, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this shoe I've always been a recreational runner but over the past couple of years I've been running longer distances, including my first full marathon. As a result, I've been through a lot of different shoes and The Boost is already one of my favorites. I'm not a heel striker, so the additional cushioning this shoe has there doesn't really help me, but you can still feel a difference in the midsole. I love the techfit upper although it takes a little getting used to because it feels tight compared to a regular shoe. It's not uncomfortable but I will probably try a half size bigger next time. I have them in Red and I also think it's the best looking shoe out there right now. Let's be honest - that matters too. April 30, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not that impressed I was initially excited to be trying a new running, and thought these shoes would be a step up from by Adidas Glide 4. But, I have so far been disappointed. I believe this shoe is designed for individuals with narrow feet, and who suffer from extreme heel strikes when running. I run mostly on my mid-foot and forefoot, and cannot stand the way this shoe fits when I run. I prefer a bit more structured upper, and not so much looseness. The shoe is so narrow that the shoe feels as though the seams are about to break. I would not recommend this shoe, and believe it has been over-hyped. April 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 The best shoe I have ran on I never write reviews, but this shoe is amazing. Mile after mile I throw on it, my legs speed and endurance just go further. The shoe is tight but not when your running, it's seems to mold to your foot and disappear. Great job Adidas on this shoe. March 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing what this shoe can do for you It's night and day between using any other running shoe and the adidas boost! The torsion system is always a great choice and the reason I buy adidas to run. But this sole is amazing. I wont lie when I first opened the box I was dissapointed with the look of the sole it looked like cheap styrofoam and I wasn't impressed but don't judge this book by its cover the actual feel and texture sold me real quick. It's a great shoe to look forward to running in first thing in the morning. I can't wait to log some serious miles on these. It feels like you can keep running past your personal best with these shoes. My feet are a bit wider but this true fit material accomodates very nicely. April 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Game Changer, Can't Wait for Trail Version This is the most cushioned AND responsive shoe I've ever worn. I test shoes all of the time & I've run over 70 miles in these, including a 1:35 half marathon. I would recommend them to anybody. I even bought some for my lady. The Techfit forefoot on the upper is super comfortable with or without socks, but can get dirty pretty easily. It's also not great for cross-training. The heel cushioning is ridiculous, but I would prefer a little less slope and a little more forefoot cushioning. Finally, Adi, please bring on the traction [sorry, TraXion] because these are pretty much just for the road/track. May 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not sure what the hype and price is about This isn't a bad shoe, but I don't understand the hype or the high price. It felt heavy and gave very little feel of the ground--sort of numb. Also the soles of my feet during a 14 mile run felt sore after about 10 or so miles. I always buy running shoes 1/2 size larger than my street shoe, and this fit fine, even with orthotics. I'd suggest to simply get the same size as one's regular running shoe. I'd prefer a lighter, more responsive running shoe. For my tastes, I would not get this shoe. March 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Slowjogger The first time I put on the shoes they were comfortable. My first two runs about the forty minute mark the bottoms with the boost would get really warm but as the third and fourth time went by the shoes fit more to my feet. My only complaint is that they were a bit narrow as I have wide feet but overall were comfortable during my runs. These running shoes were better then the last two pairs that I have bought so that is good, it seems to keep getting harder and harder for me to find a good pair of running shoes. February 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The BEST Running Shoes....EVER!!! WOW!!! The Boost running shoes are incredible. As a Soldier, I am required to remain fit and Boost has taken me to a new level. These shoes are so lite and comfortable. My running time was reduced due to the Boost technology. I would and will recommend Boost to everyone. Want to enhance your workout? Your run? BUY BOOST!! March 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Insane Product!! At first I wasn't sure if this product was worth the price. After reading the reviews I felt optimistic so I decided to give these shoes a try. When I received the product, which took only 1 day, I was psyched. These shoes fit me great because I went a .5 size up which I recommend you doing too. The shoe also felt very snug and secure which I liked. I absolutely LOVE the "techfit" upper. It is secure, snug, stretchy and comfortable all at the same time. The new Boost technology adidas has found is amazing. The boost is sooo comfortable. It is very squishy but really does return the energy in your run. I got the black color way, which I recommend, and it is very versatile. You can wear these shoes just about anywhere with just about anything. The only concern I have is with the traction. I feel as if the bottoms with wear out quickly even though adidas uses the adiwear technology on the shoe. The adiwear is good but I don't think it is put in all the places where it should be. Either if your a runner or a casual person you should get this shoe. Bottom line is that this shoe IS worth the money so go buy it right now. April 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent running shoe I purchased these shoes as a long distance runner who requires a lot of cushioning and support. Initially, the fit was very tight, almost to the point of being uncomfortable. Over weeks, my feet slowly adjusted to them but I was certainly not used to the tightness of the running shoe - after so many weeks, it seemed they contoured to the shape of my feet. What I REALLY like about these shoes is they offer excellent support and are very light. I can feel the bounce in the step, but I think all of the reviews and advertisements overestimate their performance. At $150, I think they are a decent purchase and I do not regret buying them. However, I likely would have opted not to purchase them if I had tried them on in a store instead of ordering them online - the initial fit is just way too tight even at the correct size. Rated 5 out of 5 by Boost Energy Shoes - New Energy to Run I was selected by Adidas to test the Boost running shoes for 3 weeks before their official release on the market. My Background - I run and cycle to stay in shape and try and workout 3 to 5 times per week. I am currently training for my first Half Ironman (first tri as well) and the timing of testing the Boost shoes was perfect with the workout schedule I am currently on. I normally wear the Adidas Supernova Glide running shoe (Size 10.5). I ordered size 11 Boost shoes (as directed by Adidas) and they fit perfectly. I have run about 40 miles (all on a treadmill) with the Energy Boost shoes and absolutely love them. Here are some of my early thoughts: Out of the box reaction - I will admit I was very excited to find out that Adidas selected me (a normal runner, father of 4, etc.) to test a new design of running shoes. With that being said, I am sometimes slow to change or adjust to new things so I am a good test case for a new shoe. When I opened the box the shoes definitely grabbed my attention. I immediately noticed the following: 1) Sock like upper (later discovered it is called "techfit"# 2# More rounded sole shape when looking at the profile of the shoe 3# Unusual looking foam sole of the shoe. It looked like someone packed together small foam pieces and did not look like a solid piece of foam I am used to seeing on a shoe #later discovered this is what makes them "energy boost" and I am a believer#. Please don't take my comment to mean the shoe looks like it will come apart, mine still look brand new and I have run 40 miles on them. I did immediately alert my wife to my good fortune of receiving a pair of shoes that I was selected to test #much to her non-excitement but she humored me#. Her reaction was similar to mine, this shoe was different than what we are used to and she did not like the black design at first #about 2 days later she changed her mind and now thinks they look nice but commented I should order the red pair next time#. It took about 2 miles on my first run to adjust to the feel of the shoe. The sole/foam bottom does have a slightly different feel and shape when you first put them on. After my first run I have never looked back at my old shoes. I am not sure if it is the new design of the shoe or a mental "state" but I feel the shoe offers a different response when running. They feel very natural when running and after 6 mile runs my feet feel the same as when I started. The techfit upper is also a nice change in a running shoe. It feels like it hugs your foot and seems to breathe pretty well #I have not run outside or in warm weather to really comment on if the shoe holds heat in but my initial feedback is the shoe is equivalent to my previous shoes#. Over all I am very happy with the Energy Boost shoe and have a few minor negative comments. For some reason the running sock I wear #Drymax# are difficult to slide into the shoe against the techfit material. I realize this is a minor inconvenience but every time I put them on I notice the resistance. Second, the price is a little more than I like to pay for a running shoe. I normally find the Supernova Glide shoes for $85 - $100 by purchasing the model from last year. I am hopeful Adidas will continue to support my running through the successful completion of my first Half Ironman #hint hint# and I would love to wear the Energy Boost and tell my story #prefer red shoe for next order!#. I will continue to run in these shoes for my training and post any updates or modifications over the life of my first pair of Energy Boost shoes. If Adidas does elect to support my cause, I will be very grateful and a great supporter, if not, I will probably order the red pair for my next shoe to successfully finish my first Half Ironman in Adidas! Rated 5 out of 5 by Not a Runner Ok, I bought these shoes because I needed new sneakers. I do a lot of cross training, boot camp, and other things like that. I am not a runner, and in fact try to avoid running if at all possible. These shoes have helped to make running enjoyable. I won't say that I like running now, but these shoes have made my experience running many many times better. I am less sore after a 3-mile run, I don't hurt while I run, and I feel like I'm being propelled a bit more than I was before. I have used these in my boot camp, and they perform perfectly. I love how low my toes are to the floor - perfect for doubleunders - and when doing sideways drills my foot doesn't slip. I'm sold and will continue to watch this style for future developments. Rated 5 out of 5 by The Future Of Running Shoes When I first received these running shoes, I didn't know what to think. I opened the box and thought, these are different. I immediately notice how light and different the make of the shoe was. I have worn tech fit before on my body, but to see it on a shoe was a interesting concept. This could be revolutionary or catastrophic. I was quickly convinced this was revolutionary. The shoe molds to your foot just like tech fit clothing does to your body. It gives you that snug feel and makes your foot feel safe. When I went on my first run I quickly understood the technology behind it. My legs were not as tired and I felt as though I was running on a lot more support and cushion then previous running shoes I have had. One month later they are still performing to their highest quality. I look forward to continue using them. I recommend getting the shoe size you would normally get. It says to order a half a size up, but I am a 9.5 and got a 9.5 and they fit perfectly. At first they will be tight, but they stretch out a little as you wear them and run in them. I highly recommend these running shoes. Adidas got it right with their new Energy Boost Technology. February 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best running shoes ever! Energy Boost rocks! I'm just into my 2nd year of running- and have gone through many different shoes- and I must say- after running in the Adidas Boost for about 2 weeks- they are amazing! I go for comfort (I'm in my fifties)- and I run about 14 miles a week- these are crazy comfortable! Great support as well! They are a little snug- I took a few runs to get used to this. I got the red ones- they also look very cool! March 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A non-runner's perspective I HATE running but know it's the best way to lose weight and get in shape. I bought these shoes hoping they would make running a little easier and more fun and get me out more. The shoes do have more cushioning/"bounce" than any I've ever had, but there is not an astronomical difference between these and the New Balance shoes I had before. I ordered a half size up from my usual size as recommended, and they fit VERY SNUGLY with a standard white sock on. They're also a little narrower than shoes I've had in the past. The red color is a little lighter than I was anticipating...I pictured a standard, darkish red and the shoes are a light red trending toward azalea...if you have a strong aversion to pink, beware. Be aware the fabric of the shoe beyond the laces is really thin...this is probably not a good shoe for wet and/or cold outdoor running. If you have money to burn, these are interesting shoes. Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally A Great Running Show I've tried many different running shoes and was skeptical when I first heard all the positive reviews surrounding the new Energy Boost Shows. However, they are as advertised. I LOVE running in these things and can't say enough good things about them. My feet are NEVER sore when I'm done; simply AWESOME! May 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Interesting Running Shoes Look: Right out of the box, the first thing you will notice about the new Boost running shoes is the sole; it looks like styrofoam. In fact, just about everyone who saw me running in the shoes asked about their styrofoam soles. Other than that, theare highly concerned with the look of your shoes, this may be a problem. Fit: I am glad these shoes came with the recommendation of ordering a half size bigger. I normally wear a size 12, so I ordered a 12.5, and they fit perfect. If I was unaware of this fact, they would be far too snug to run in comfortably. Also, upon putting them on for the first time, I found it strange that my toes did not touch the ground. They are shaped with an upward slope, so most of my weight was resting on my heels. I am a flat-footed runner, so for me this was a little odd. I am sure that once I put more mileage onto them, it will wear itself in. Performance: Part of my job requires me to stay in shape, so running plays a rather big part. I have had many different running shoes, these being the newest. Before I began running in the Energy Boost shoes, I was sporting a pair of Adizero Feather 2.0's. I am a big fan of them, so I was comfortable giving these a try. So far, I am not disappointed. They are very light, and the unconventional soles seem to provide surprising support. Once I am able to log more time in them, I will be able to more accurately compare them to my current standards, but I am not anticipating any falloff. Additional: More and more shoes are providing built in support for running programs, and the Energy Boost's are no different. They come with a slot for the Micoach, and I am sure I will be giving it a shot. Anything that can improve my running is worth a look. If nothing else, it is not intrusive, and if you do not wish to utilize the feature, you do not have it. Simply having the option is a nice addition. February 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Boost "NOT" Ordered new Energy Boost shoe 1/2 size larger as recommended by Adidas web page. Shoe was way too long in toebox area (1 1/2" extra length) and too loose in heel. I reordered my regular size and shoe was too tight across forefoot. Returned both pair!! Adidas needs to make this shoe in at least a "D" width in order for it to fit my foot. March 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 Very Good but Not Revolutionary The Boost is a good shoe, but I do not think it is as revolutionary as it is being portrayed. The shoe is quite soft and does have pretty good rebound, but it might still be a little too soft for light runners with a smooth stride. The fit is excellent. I am hoping they come out with a racing flat that uses the midsole material and the upper fabric. March 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great, comfortable shoe As someone who doesn't go out and run long distances, only a few miles a week, I've never gone out and bought a pair of shoes specifically for running. I put these shoes on right out of the box and my feet fell in love. These shoes felt like they were hugging my feet. And like the description says, you can feel the soles give you that little bounce back as you walk or run in them. I liked the actual material of the shoe itself as well. My feet tend to get quite warm throughout the day, and these shoes let them breathe. March 1, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Not for the wide of feet No way around it, I tried 2 different pairs in two different sizes and I simply cannot wear this. They are just too darn tight on my feet. The one run I got in resulted in barely being able to walk the next day due to running in tight shoes. For me it was far less about the length and all about the width. My feet are just shy of being rated wide, so a tight shoe like this, that doesn't offer a wide version, will not work for me. May be a great shoe, but until they offer a wide size, I won't be able to try them. April 4, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by You let me down Adidas I wanted a new pair of shoes to deploy with and I'm a sucker for new technology. I wear a 10.5 so I ordered an 11. Should have read the reviews and ordered an 11.5.... The shoes were way too tight to run in and I don't have time to wait for the return and resending of a new pair since im leaving soon and NOBODY in Orlando stocks the shoes. So I returned them to an Adidas store and took my money to finish line where they hook up military with 20% off. Got a new pair of Asics for about 70.00 and they are amazing. April 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by We need boost trail shoes, boost helmets, boost... The best shoes ever. Soft, not mushy, very lightweight, very flexible, less heel lift, great protection from gravel, sock-like fit in forefoot, 1/2 size larger fit than usual Nike, Asics, or Brooks, stay soft on cold days, and have not disintegrated yet. I use them with RRS' soft cushion insole. Have been using Vomero's on the road and Adidas Trail Response on the trails in recent years. Vomero's are mushy and plush. Trail Response's no longer sold in the US--try Germany. Where is the Boost trail shoe? April 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for running! Very comfortable. I was selected for Adidas to test the new Boost Running shoes. I was at work when I received the package, and immediately I put my shoes on. I felt like I was jumping when I walked. So, I said, I cant wait until next morning to start testing my shoes. I do like Adidas because their shoes usually are light and comfortable and this is not the exception. My feet fit perfectly in the shoes (by the way, you have to order half size bigger), you feel like the shoes are part of you. Next morning I started testing my shoes, I usually run between 4 - 5 miles a day. I felt a nice change, the cushioning and the lightness are a perfect combination. The shoes clearly have improved my running, I am using them to go to the gym as well. (I ordered a pair of shoes for my wife already...you know how ladies are... jajaja, I will ask her to write a review after she tests them.) My recommendation would be to introduce more colors, because runners normally like bright colors. I want to thank Adidas for this great opportunity. Grillos Runner March 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Energy Boost Excell! I needed new jogging shoes due to the pain I was experiencing in my ankles (age 59). The Boost fit great and cushion much better than previous shoes. Going 1/2 size larger worked perfectly. I still experience some pain but nothing to do with the shoes - just getting older. While expensive I would buy them again knowing how well they feel while I am on the treadmill doing 8 1/2 to 9 minute miles. May 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Running Shoe Yet!! The website says to purchase 1/2 size bigger then your normal size. I found that I needed a full size boost on the size from a 9.5 to a 10.5 in a NEUTRAL running shoe category. It feels like running on air. Nicely built and fitting very snug. April 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best cushion ever The cushion and the bouncing of this shoe are terrific, as promised by adidas. My only comply is that the upper is too tight, I have never had that problem before with any other shoe, that is the only reason I don't rate it with 5 stars March 7, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by First time, last time? I was in the need of new shoes since I'm in the Army and run at least three times a week, with a distance that ranges from 3 miles to 6 miles. I also use my shoes to do cardio twice a week. The shoes I had are a year old next week, so yeah, I was in need of some new ones. I found out about the Energy Boost the day they were announced by one of the guys in my tent. Oh, I'm deployed to Kuwait right now... fun stuff. Anyways, I put the order in immediately since I tend to always want whatever's new first. Being in Kuawit, I realized it'd take longer than the scheduled 27th February delivery date, and indeed they arrived four days late. At first sight, I was taken away by how great they looked in person. Really just blown away. I was excited. New life. They felt much lighter than I expected to too. Not as light as my current shoes, but still surprisingly light. I have a PT test (2 mile timed run, and 2 minutes of push-ups and sit-ups) tomorrow (March 8) so I was pumped that I had these in time. And then I put them on. I'm a size 9 with my shoes. Every other brand I own, whether the swoosh, the off the wall guys, the boat guys shoes, and pretty much every other brand... size 9. Where I am the PX doesn't have any Adidas in stock so I couldn't check out how they run, but I had faith and ordered a 9 anyways. So yeah, slipped off my boots, and slipped on my new Energy Boost. And then my heart sank. $150, 3 weeks of waiting to arrive, and just heart broken that I knew I'd have to wait another month or so to return the shoes and get the right size back. Adidas' size 9 is more like an everyone else's size 9.5, maybe even 10. I immediately emailed Adidas to see if I could return them, but not before at least trying it out. After a confusing email, I found out that I could indeed try out the shoes and return them via mail within 30 days. Awesome, I thought. Monday morning came and that's when we have about a 7-8 mile run. The first 2 1/2 miles are on a hardball, the rest off-road on a mix of hard ground and straight up desert sand that just eats your feet alive. These shoes do. not. give. At all. Way too tight in the middle, and the plastic thing on the bottom of the shoe, I felt that thing each and every step I took. That night my feet were cramping. Never has this happened before with any shoe I've owned. I know it takes a bit to break in, and I gave it a 5K on Wednesday and 4 more miles today, with cardio on Tuesday and it still is killing my feet. Sadly I will be returning the shoes and just going back and buying another pair of my old shoes. I really wanted this to be my new shoe. Loved the looks, loved the color choice, the new technology seemed extremely promising but it just isn't meant to be. Maybe next time, Adidas. March 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Demo The past few years I have really been into Solomon brand. Like the fit and design in cool also. Recently joined in a "fun run" where Adidas was a sponsor and had demos to try. I ran in the Boosts 3 days before they came out and fell in love. Completely different feel than my Solomon trail runner. I guess it does matter what terrain each shoe is designed for! Solomons are still my go to trail running, but any street runs my Boosts hands down improve my experience. Great shoes! Thanks Adidas March 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Boost for marathon I bought the Boost for a marathon. I wanted to try the shoe. I had a very difficult time trying to find my size (14) anywhere and whne I was told that the shoe fits a little tight, I got nervous. When I got the shoe I enjoyed it very much. It is a totally different feel than anything else I've ever ran in. During the marathon the shoe did feel incredibly tight, probably because I tied my laces too tightly. However, I would recommend this shoe to others, just be ready for a different feel. April 2, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome shoe! Feels like your running on air! May 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome!! A great innovation that Adidas has adopted as their new technology. The quality as well as the performance is surprising. The upper part of the shoe feels as if you have a glove around your foot. The cushioning in the front and rear also surprised me. The torsion works perfectly with these shoes, it gives you better take off with each step while running. I ran 6 minute miles with these shoes and the stability is awesome! Will continue to train in these shoes for a sub 3 hour marathon. March 16, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Long Distance Shoe Immediately after pulling the shoe out of the box, it was apparent that the Eco Boost were a different type of shoe. The styrofoam-like material made me curious as to how it would affect my running, and if it would compliment my running style. Primarily when I run it is at or around 5 miles and up. The Eco Boosts were excellent on these type of distances. However for shorter distances I would recommend a smaller shoe. It is hard to push off and recover for the next step in such a large shoe. Prior to wearing the Eco Boosts I wore what are considered to be "minimalist" shoes. Minimalist shoes allowed me to land in the most efficient manner in that of a mid-foot landing. However, the Eco Boost encourage the runner to heel strike. This heel strike's impact is somewhat lessened by the amount of padding, but over time may cause injury to the knee and surround skeletal features. All around this shoe is excellent for long-distance running. As for cross training or sprints, I would not recommend this shoe for those type of activities. Thank you very much for the opportunity to be apart of this experience! March 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Light and Sleek I was ecstatic three weeks ago when I received a free pair of these shoes as part of a beta release. It was my first time being chosen for something like this, and I really lucked out with the product. Adidas is the only brand of shoe I buy, but to be honest I had only ever purchased a couple pair of running shoes. I never felt that the athletic shoes provided enough functional advantage to justify the increase in price, and I appreciate the versatility classics such as sambas and dragons offer. That opinion changed with these shoes. Not only are they sleek enough to be worn casually, they provided a noticeable functional difference too. It wasn't so much about what I gained (though the extra bounce to the step is noticeable immediately), but what was absent; discomfort. After a week of wearing the Energy Boosts on my daily jog with my dog, I began to feel physically better after runs. My lower back aches subsided, and my legs felt more fresh during and after action. So, even if you don't run for sport, but you do some jogging/running as part of your routine, i would strongly recommend you try out a pair of these shoes. February 23, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Size all the reviews said to go up a half size,,,found them true to size so had to return for a smaller size (wear 8 1/2 ordered 9) April 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best running shoe yet This shoe is great overall. It is very comfortable and light weight. Adidas did a great job of putting bot of those details into it. It is also rather stylish and very cool. A lot of people are saying that this shoe is a little snug in the toe, and I agree. But I would get your true size, and not a half-size bigger, because it does not feel very snug once you wear it for a day or two. I really recommend this shoe, whether you wear it everyday or just running. It is great. March 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great shoes but you have to try them on I bought a pair of these the week they came out and can't recommend them enough! They are light, and you can really feel a spring in your stride when running. The one thing I would suggest is going and trying them on first. They fit different than most running shoes in that they are snug in the arch and tow box so you have to go up at least a 1/2 size. The weird thing is I tried several that were a full size bigger but the didn't feel as good as the 1/2 size bigger. March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fits like a glove ! For years I wore the Supernova Cushion and most recently the Glide series, but I had to replace the insoles to get adequate cushioning. This resulted in added weight. Not needed with the Energy Boost! Great cushioning, lightweight and fits like a glove. My only complaint are the laces. The laces placed pressure on the top of my foot. I replaced them with stretch laces and problem solved. The Energy Boost fits so well, I think you could keep them on without laces. March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best shoes I ever ran in . This was the first pair of shoes , I ever purchase without trying them on .I fell in love from first look. I thought , I would have to break them in but I didn't. I wore them for one day then , I ran the Brooklyn half marathon. The only down side to getting them , was having my wife ask my , why I am paying $150 .00 for a pair so shoes . Well worth it but I'll buy a few more if the price goes down ...love them love them May 20, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Really Comfortable Shoe The first time that I put on these shoes two things came to mind, one positive, and one negative. I'll start with the negative, it was a good thing that Addidas mentioned that these shoes run narrow when I selected the size. If I had gone with my normal 8 1/2 instead of the 9 I ordered, I don't think that the shoes would have fit. As it is, the shoes are very snug around my feet, but this turned into something that I really liked about them. The positive was that they were the most comfortable shoes that I had ever put on right out of the box. I received the shoes on an off day, I wasn't supposed to run, but once I had them on I just couldn't help myself. I had to see what they felt like after a couple of miles. To be honest, I didn't think they would hold up. My feet felt awesome during that first run, and I felt like I could go forever. I was really impressed but in my experience any new shoe works well the first time out. After several weeks running with them (about 15 miles a week), I can confidently say that they feel the same as the day they arrived. That generally is not true of running shoes that I've purchased in the past. The long and the short of it is this: I simply don't want to go back to other running shoes. February 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Strong but Light Once I picked them out of the box I felt that they were really light. I thought they were going to be other typical 'light' shoes, but they weren't. They were strong and shoes that are made for support yet they flex as well as other 'light' shoes. I would highly recomend these shoes for running, and workouts for people that run and compete. February 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe I honestly didn't know what to expect with this shoe. My last pair of shoes were beginning to make the sole of my foot hurt at the end of my runs, so I decided to try these out thinking the "Boost" cushioning may help. I have run about 20 miles in them so far and don't have any complaints. I like the feel but don't have enough use yet to see how they really hold up, I am looking forward to some longer runs. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. March 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderfully well The new Adidas Boost are very comfortable out of the box. Best midsole out right now. Though more cushion than anticipated, these will make for great distance trainers or race shoes. Even 1/2 size up they are snug. It would be safe to order a whole size up if you like prefer a normal fit. Purchase was made with next day delivery without a hitch. Very satisfied- looking forward to the next Boost release with a more racing flat or minimal midsole!!! March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome!!! There are no words to describe those shoes! I was just blown away! They make you want to run! I run 5 and 10k regularly and last Saturday, on my first run, I managed to shave loads of seconds of my PB on the 5k. My 1st k especially was AMAZING! And of course I got people asking me about my new shoes. I can imagine competing companies CEOs having nightmares and working their engineers overtime to copy them. Well done adidas! Really well done!!! March 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good shoe Love the cushion feel of the shoe. Every time foot hits pavement the shoe seems to "spring" back up, so you really do feel a boost. Worst part of the shoe is the fit. Website says buy 1/2 inch bigger than normal size. I normally wear a size 12'' shoe, but 12.5'' was not an option, so I stuck with 12". Have a few small blisters on the top of my feet after wearing these shoes....Hope that with more use the tightness of the fit will improve. March 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by THE Best Running Shoes yet! EXCELLENT AND WELL WORTH TRYING!!!! I'm a 6' tall 240 lb guy with back problems, my body don't let me run all the time like I would love to, but these are hands down the best shoes ever. Ran a race in these and they were even better than the last pair of Adidas shoes I had years ago. Adidas PLEASE continue making these and make sure to keep a full supply of size US 12.5 mens. Also feel free to keep coming up with other colors too! May 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The shoes seem to provide good support as I did not get too tired but the problem was when running downhill, the shoelaces seem to dig more on the insteps of the feet because there were only a few eyelets and so the pressure on the insteps are concentrated only on a few straps instead of being distributed over many. So with a few more miles to go I felt so much pain on my insteps which made it harder to get to the finish line. April 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent shoe After a several year absence, I have recently returned to jogging/running as a way to bring back a healthier aspect to my lifestyle. I am 5'9" and over 220 lbs., so in returning to the sport I needed to ensure my shoes were comfortable, supportive, and responsive. The Adidas Energy Boost Shoes have been outstanding. I have wide feet and the shoes felt kind of narrow out of the box, but after a few wearings they now mold to my feet when I slip them on. Having had back and hip issues in the past, I mostly run on treadmill and soft surfaces, but when I do hit the pavement the cushion and support are there for me. In fact, the most surprising factor is just how well supported this light weight shoe makes me feel. My favorite course is the mountain bike and hiking trails at our nearby city forest. The terrain is full of hills, turns, tree roots, rocks, and all other kinds of ankle twisters, yet I remain solid and confident of my stride. These shoes are helping to make running fun again. I like them so much I have a red pair I keep at the gym and a black pair for trail running. May 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Snug fit, solid runner The fit took some getting used to. I took Adidas' advice and ordered 1/2 size up. Upon trying them on, I thought maybe I should have ordered a full size up. After my first shift at work, though, I realized that in order to get the full benefit of the boost, it needs to fit a bit snug like that. Even on day 1, I didn't suffer any discomfort at all. Bottom line, they look great, they're comfortable and are top quality. March 18, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Shoe I run 45+ miles a week. I purchased these shoes and fell in love with them. They have been my "go to shoe" sine I purchased them. (I usually run in Brooks Ghost). I just completed a half marathon in them today and my legs feel/felt amazing! I would highly recommend these shoes for any runner. I purchased the red pair and will be purchasing the black pair next. Other reviews are accurate in getting a half size bigger. April 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by running shoes Tried a couple of running shoes recently, this is by far the mose comfortable shoes for warm and hot days. The shoes has a problem with cold weather tho. Has amazing stability and makes it so your feet don't roll if you happen to step on a rock. The padding in this shoe made me feel as if I was running on cushions. I wish that I only could have changed the color istead of only having to choose 3 choices. March 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by So far... They're great running shoes! They're probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. As long as you order them a half size bigger, then they should fit you just fine. Be careful to make sure you don't tie them too tight. At first they don't feel tight, but after you're done running, you'll feel it on the top and side of your foot. After loosening them up for the next run, they felt awesome!!! April 21, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Decent but not for me Heavy, significant heel-toe differential. Gave me terrible chaffing around my ankles. Don't wear them without socks. The upper is comfortable and snug. Didn't notice any significant performance difference. The "boost" is just hype. If you're not into minimal shoes and you want a decent trainer, give 'em a shot. They're a little pricey, but I imagine they'll hold up for a long time. Good quality. April 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Will never run in another shoe... My first run in any new shoe is usually a cautious 3 mile "test ride". In my new Boost I thought I would really test them out with my weekend long run. At the end of 10 miles I was ready to run another 10. These were so much fun! Comfortable, responsive, and like no other shoe I have ever run in (and I have tried Nike, Asics, and Brooks). adidas finally did it with a revolutionary running shoe! March 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Look great, feel great Now I'm not what you would consider an athlete. I'm 53 years old and need to exercise more. I got these shoes because I seem to always have sore feet, and I wanted to get moving. I got the shoes - tried them out. They are bouncy. I wear 11.5, but the advice said to go up a half size because they run snug. I bought size 12 and they feel great. I bought the red color shoes, they look good. March 14, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Couldn't run longer then 1/2 mile Very disappointed. Read great reviews about the product and I was very excited. When I received my shoes, the fit was very comfortable but when I started to run, I had the worst pain in my foot after running about 1/2 a mile. I ordered the size up, which is highly recommended. The shoe is probably better for walking in, then running. I had pain in my foot for almost the entire day. :-/ April 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Boost I was admittedly somewhat skeptical of the Addidas Energy Boost hype at first. After running for a couple hundred miles now I can attest the boost technology does seem to inspire better performance. In measurable terms the added spring has dropped my average per mile time by about 15 to 20 seconds. The one piece uppers are a little tight and I'd recommend going with the one 1/2 size up. Rated 3 out of 5 by Caveat Emptor Bought these after reading all the hype. Good- Very light, fair ride Bad- Narrow fit, even a size up. Ride left my toes sore. Energy boost seems to be more of a gimmick and a function of light weight, than a breakthrough technology. After a three weeks I went back to my much cheaper standard shoes which can be found in your local sporting goods store and are named after a cloud. April 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good comfort - proper fit is essential I am a medium-heavy (195 lbs) marathoner and used these for some long training runs (to break them in) and to compete in the Boston Marathon 4/15/13. Overall, these shoes are light, responsive and comfortable. I ran a pretty fast marathon (3:16, my second-fastest ever). The narrowish toe-box and slightly curved last combined with the stretchy tech-fit might not work well for all runners. The lacing is minimal, making it tricky to get them to stay where you want them. I sized up per the recommendations of the sales advisor in the adidas store but wonder if a 1/2 size might have been better (my toes blistered - not sure if that is from the snug material or because they were too big). The "boost material" is soft and responsive while providing sufficient support for heavy runners on long runs. I recommend considering them, especially as a distance race shoe. Stores need to offer half sizes and multiple widths. April 22, 2013
