Rated 4 out of 5 by Great lower half, Weak upper half Obviously this is just a personal preference. But while I love the cushioning and the perfect rise from front to back, I do not like the upper half construction. The upper half feels like a sock, not a shoe. It is flimsy enough that a quick turn or a slope will cause your foot to shift inside the shoe. I am a little concerned that a second of not paying attention to my foot striking the pavement will cause a turned ankle or a fall. I run in a very hilly area and prefer a bit more substance than this upper half. But in optimum conditions it is a very comfortable shoe and has plenty of cushioning. May 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Big guy likes bouncy shoe. I am 200+ pounds, 5'11", and was looking for a shoe that would help with the impact my weight puts on my back and legs when jogging. This shoe has a really good sole. It's good from the moment you put it on.. but it really shines after the first couple of miles of your run. That when I feel it really respond.. when I start going faster and my feet hit the ground harder. There are things I wish were better, but it's more about personal taste. If it fits your foot well, it's a good running shoe to add to your collection. My wish list: I wish the arch was just a touch wider. I wish the outer sole looked better. April 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by So Far So Good The Energy Boost 2.0's are pretty darn good, at least they have been for my first 3 runs. I have done 3, 4 and 7 miles with them and I give them a solid A so far. I am 66 and have only been a runner for 3 years. In analyzing my style, I am definitely a heel striker that needs a lot of cushion. Asics Gel Nimbus has been great but I switched over to Hokas for the extra cushion in February. I wear a size ten shoe, eleven in Asics and Hokas, and the "sizer" said I needed an 11 1/2 so I went with that and I am glad because 11 would have been too small for sure. I guess I would like them to be a bit wider but they still feel great. I have 5 races next month so I will run at least 3 of them in the Adidas and the rest in the Hokas and see how they do. Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than original I recently purchased the Boost 2.0 and somehow adidas have managed to make a sure better than the original Boost. The cushioning is about the same, but the fit of the shoe is much improved. The additional padding in the tongue gives the shoe a much more snug fit, and overall the shoe just feels even better on your foot. Running in these, as with the original boost, is an absolute joy. Each step gives you a distinct bounce, and I find that even after longer runs, it is my lungs that want to quit, not my legs. I would highly recommend these shoes to any and everyone. As others have noted, drop a half size to get a snug fit. June 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Buy This Shoe! As an active duty member of the armed forces I have been running for over twenty years. I've tried every brand, seen every running shoe fad from super technical to minimalist and everything in between. While I was deployed recently my wife sent me a pair of Boost shoes (version 1.0) that she bought at the local post exchange. She told me about them and I was VERY skeptical. Until they arrived and I took them out of the box and ran 5 miles....and it was GLORIOUS. These are the lightest, best fitting, and most responsive shoes I have ever owned. I'm a large frame dude who is a mild over pronator and these work great for me. I'm on my third pair and have even got my wife hooked and them as well. In one time in these shoes and you'll never go back to anything else. April 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by good everyday trainer I never considered adidas for running shoes for long distance running and was recommended this at local running store. Its a good shoe, light and cushy, however, personally I would want more forefoot cushioning so that the offset would become 4-6mm and not present 10mm. I really like the upper and how it wraps your foot so that it feels really solid on turns no slippage. Did a long run and no discomfort , but its too early to tell if there will be cumulative damage overtime due to light forefoot cushioning. Definitely buy 1/2 size up, the general fit is great as much as I'm thinking running without socks. April 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by US Army Runner I have to run all the time in the US Army so comfortable running shoes are a must all the time. I already had the red original Energy Boost shoes and was satisfied with those so I figured it was about time to upgrade and try the Energy Boost 2.0 version. I'm content with my Energy Boost shoes. The tongue seems a little smaller in the 2.0 version, but there's nothing wrong with that. The only drawback that I have had with both the original and the 2.0 version is that I have slightly wide feet so I wish Adidas sold 7.0 W shoe sizes. Please let me know if there is actually a way to special order these if possible. It took me a couple of days to break-in my shoes so both sides of my feet (mostly inner) wouldn't be sore anymore. Rated 5 out of 5 by So Far So Good I've only had the shoes for just over a week now, and have only been about to put about 15 miles on them, but so far its been an absolute blast running in these. So far I've noticed they have been much easier on my joints than my minimalist shoes I had been using prior, obviously that would be the case, but these shoes are not much heavier than those, so its not like I am adding weight for extra cushioning. You really can feel the Boost material at work in these shoes, at least I can, since this is the first go around I have had with the material, and I like it much better than the standard EVA foam. All in all, its a great product, and so far I would heavily recommend it to anyone wanting to give them a shot. I look forward to adding a lot more miles on them and hope they continue to perform at the level they are now! March 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Even better than the original Boost! I got my first pair of Boosts to wear to work since I am on my feet a lot during work. They quickly became my work and running shoes. They are like wearing anti-fatigue mats on your feet all day! I was slightly disappointed in the durability of my first pair because there we parts of the shoe that rubbed against each other and caused holes. That issue has been fixed in the 2.0's. They also seemed to add thicker materials in the back and middle of the shoe, which just makes the shoe feel more stable in general. Still has the amazing boost cushioning that made me fall in love with my first pair. I'm already thinking about buying my 3rd pair! I ordered 1/2 size bigger like they say, and they fit perfect, would suggest doing the same. March 5, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by not bad, but probably not worth the price I purchased these thinking they would feel like walking on a foam anti stress mat, such as those used in kitchens. Unfortunately they just feel like a regular pair of shoes I could get for around 80 bucks at a local shoe store. They definitely run small, I wear a 10.5 and had to return and get an 11.5 and still quite snug. So far, they are just your basic running shoe, nothing special, and I feel I overpaid by approximately 100 bucks or so. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing adidas. Adidas makes great shoes. They just need to adjust pricing in relation to the shoe feel and performance. I ended up putting my old running shoes back on after an hour in the energy boost 2.0s. August 20, 2014
