Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing Quality & Not As Described I'm disappointed in a couple of things on the Boston Marathon jacket that I just received. The stitching quality is very poor on the back logo and the "BAA 26.2" on the collar is completely missing and was replaced by a small, screened "Boston runs as one" logo. In addition, the zipper is orange and not black and the orange is much brighter than the pictures. The jacket that I received is simply not as advertised. I'm returning it in hopes this was a just a mistake. I'll get another one shipped to see if the quality is different. December 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by B.A.A. 26.2 is not on the Collar! I am not here to complain about the colors, like all others, because the color really isn't all that bad. My complaint is that the picture shows the traditional BAA 26.2 on the back collar, but I just got the jacket and that is not on the back of the collar. Instead there is a cheap screen print of the B.A.A. logo and says "Boston Runs as One." Don't get me wrong, I actually love this on the jacket, but not on the back collar where the B.A.A. 26.2 is supposed to be. ADIDAS should have put this on the sleeve, or on the front of the jacket, and why is this not sewed on like the rest of the stuff on the jacket? I'm hoping that I just got a bad jacket because that was a HUGE letdown! I will be sending back to ADIDAS for a new one. December 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing So very disappointed in this year's jacket. What was the thought process here? This is a colour that a slight fraction of any population would truly enjoy. With these colours, the blue trim would have been much, much better as base. As a matter of fact, it appears a women's alternate ("smarter") jacket has been posted. I hope such is considered for a men's option - BUT WITH LOGO ON THE BACK too. That would sell. A patriotic theme would have made the most sense, but that is clearly not happening. Oh well, Adidas and BAA will be disappointed by sales. Ultimately, though, the runners are the losers as this race will not be commemorated about town with the normal jacket enthusiasm. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not exactly what is pictured The jacket does not actually match the picture - the black zipper pictured is actually orange and blends. I did not notice a sizing problem - I ordered a small and it seemed to fit as I would expect - I am 5'5" and about 140 lb. That said, the jacket is very bright orange and it does not look exactly like the picture, so is a little bit of a disappointment for me just because of that. I wasn't a big fan of the design online at first, but I got used to it and ordered it. Now I feel like I have to go through that again. I will keep it for a day before I decide whether or not to keep it. January 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Celebration jacket If you want a celebration jacket, here it is, you have no other choice--London Marathon colors. I would recommend this because it is this years celebration jacket. Great running jacket, still not a celebration jacket, not up to the Image Impact Celebration jacket standard--that was a celebration jacket! March 22, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Same as the London Marathon Jacket?????? I just discovered that Adidas is using the same jacket for the 2014 Boston Marathon and the 2014 London Marathon! Seriously?? It's the same color scheme and all with the stripes, just the logos are different. I thought the jacket was bad before, but now that it's the same as the London jacket, I dislike it even more. No originality for the Boston jacket? Epic failure Adidas. January 21, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by No way In a year in which the Boston Marathon will be more meaningful to a ton of people than ever before, this is awful. Honoring the BAA with a traditional blue and yellow, or even going with red white and blue would have been fitting. Instead, we get what looks like Miami Marlins outerwear. Even the embroidered 26.2 is removed! Terrible. January 8, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by What were they thinking? This is a rather odd design and color scheme for the Boston Marathon--you certainly will get noticed if you wear this in public. Between the bright safety orange and the weird striping across the shoulder and back, the jacket seems out of place in "celebrating" such a classy and prestigious event such as the Boston Marathon. The quality of the jacket is fine, although a back ventilation panel would have been nice. December 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fits great Ran Boston for first time in 2013 and HAVE to go back in April, wouldn't miss it for the world. Ordered this jacket last week and received it in three days. Yeah it's bright, but it's not a dinner jacket, it's a running jacket and does a great job for what it is designed to do. I wear a men's medium and it is true to size and fits perfectly, and really like the way it feels when I'm running in it. I wear it with a great deal of pride and if it jumps out at you with the color that is fine. Maybe a way of saying "In your face, you can't stop us or Boston" so yeah look at us we're still running and will always run. Love the Jacket December 25, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a fan Wow. So disappointed in the line for this year. Considering all of the hype and attention and emotion that will surround 2014's race, this is a major letdown. December 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Boston Marathon Jacket 2014 The jacket was not one of my favorite Boston jackets, I felt Adidas could have come up with something special for the 2014 Boston Marathon, but after receiving the jacket and wearing it a few times I really do like it. The color is extremely bright when you are outside and I like that. The fit is great too! I wear a women's small but in the Adidas marathon jackets I always get a men's small. The men's jackets fit better and they have more room. The women's jackets are more fitted and I like having the room to wear a sweatshirt under my coat. The men's small is a little longer vs. the women's small. So I feel better about the jacket after receiving it and wearing it. February 6, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor choice of color This is going to be my fifth and maybe last year for this event (I'm getting old and slow), so I wanted the jacket. However the color scheme is not to exciting, but it is bright and cars should be able to see it a long ways off. In view of the events of last year ,I was at 26.0 miles when I was stopped), I think some kind of patriot color scheme would have been better. The white embroidery is hard to read. At this price point I think it is of poor value. February 8, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fit is great, Color scheme is marginal Living in Athens Georgia (home of UGA), I am not a fan of orange. And while I was immediately distressed about this jacket, I have received mine and don't think it's terrible. I would have certainly preferred patriotic colors or BAA traditional blue and gold. I can't imagine the round table discussion that selected orange as the base color. Regardless, we all earned a spot at the 2014 Boston Marathon and deserve to wear this traditional symbol of the race proudly. It will all seem less shocking when a few of these show up around town. Train well qualifiers. Less than 100 days until the gun fires in Hopkinton! January 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing...missed opportunity Adidas First, like others have posted, Adidas should have chosen Red-White-and Blue as the colors for the 2014 running (with any of the 3 as the main base color). That glaring oversight aside, the item received is not as pictured on the webpage. It does not have the black stripe running down the front zipper nor does it have the previously classic "BAA 26.2 Miles" embroidered on the outside/back of the collar (tsk tsk). Instead, there is a very small version of the BAA unicorn logo in a crest with the phrase "Boston Runs As One" noted. Ok, while that was a good idea it probably should have been placed elsewhere, perhaps on a sleeve with the traditional "BAA 26.2 Miles" where it has always been. Lastly, the 2013 jacket had greatly needed vents in the back they were not included for 2014. For running any distance greater than a 5K you need vents to let the heat out (even during the winter) otherwise you create your own greenhouse in your jacket and end up just soaked in sweat. Since it's not designed to be functional to wear during the marathon or any distance training, it will be used with jeans or other causal wear. Lastly, I normally wear a Large (5'9" 170lbs) and went with an XL as the listing notes this is a "slim fit". Glad I did as I like a loose fitting jacket for layering and the shoulders would have been too tight otherwise with a Large. But to end on a positive note, I'm looking forward to being on the starting line in April (ok, nowhere near the front but there just the same with a bib!). Until then, Merry Christmas and good training to everyone! December 24, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not so great I could not wait to see the 2014 Boston Marathon jacket. What a disappointment! Ugly. Unfortunately, Adidas will sell a ton of them because of the prestige of the event and "showing your colors" by wearing the jacket. A special edition would have been nice. Nothing special about this jacket. December 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely Unsatisfied Like others, I'm disappointed in the color selection...red, white and blue or the classic BAA colors would have been the way to go, and I'm just not sure how this was missed. That said, the color is not the biggest issue. The fit is way off vs. last year's jacket. My 2013 jacket fits me perfectly, running true to size. This jacket runs BIG, and for me, since I wear a small, I don't have another option. Unfortunately, I'll be returning the jacket... January 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Missed the mark BAA and adidas, you are the custodians of runners' hopes, aspirations, goals and, this year, remembrance and respect. This iconic garment is, for many, representative of those emotions. You've missed the mark. January 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed This will be my first Boston, so I felt ordering this jacket is a must. From what I can tell, the quality of the jacket, which I haven't worn other than trying it on, is good. It's nicely cut and seems well made. The sizing information was misleading - I initially ordered a medium based on the size chart (chest measurement), but it was clearly too big and the small fits much better. The reason I'm disappointed is threefold - first, apparently Adidas has skimped on some of the embroidery that was used on past Boston jackets. Second, I think the color design is ugly. My kids shielded themselves from its brightness. Third, I just learned that the same color scheme/design is being used for the London Marathon jacket, meaning that this won't be uniquely Boston. I don't need a jacket like this - it's a trophy of sorts to me. For the price of the item, I wish it fit that purpose better. January 22, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Missed Opportunity This was an opportunity for Adidas to make a splash and they blew it. I never in my life thought I'd buy such a hideous looking jacket but the event means so much more to me so I bit the bullet. The orange shown in the online picture does not do justice to the horrible color. I hunt and my hunters' orange gear is almost bleak in comparison. It is so vivid you'll hurt your eyes straining to see past it to look at the detail in the embroidery. The collar logo should not have been changed from the past trends either. Bottom line, Adidas could have delivered a product with class and made a huge statement in the wake of the terrorist attack at the 2013 race. Instead they chose an event with significant emotional meaning and used it as an excuse to dump a fabric color that likely would never move...ever The only thing I can give props on is fit. Rated 1 out of 5 by Ok fit but the color is horrible I wasn't too thrilled when I first saw the color but I thought it would eventually grow on me. When I got it, all I could think about was Cheeto dust. The blue and white on the shoulders and back didn't help either so I sent back. I've got my Adidas 'Boston stands as one' tshirt which they created very shortly after last year's marathon for The One Fund. I have no idea why someone wasn't working on a epic jacket for this year's run. Could have been something that even non-runners would want too. Good thing I've run Boston before and have other jackets. January 22, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by overpriced color between web site and actual don't match. Boston emblem blend into jacket color. emblems needs standout. January 24, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Not thrilled The color is hideous January 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Could be better Really stunned that this year's Boston jacket is the same as London's, given how significant the Boston race is in the wake of last year's bombing. The logo on the back of the collar should be embroidered. April 13, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too Late To Change Color?!?!?!?!?!?!? Simply said, the color is just awful. Red White and Blue or the traditional Dark Blue and Gold would have been appropriate - and a lot more pleasant to look at, too! January 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Color is bright The jacket fits well, but I was expecting patriotic colors due to last years marathon. The orange color is extremely bright. January 28, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a fan No vents and no 26.2 on the collar. This is a jacket to be forgotten. I'll keep it...but keep it in the closet. January 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Better than I expected.... I purchased this with hesitation and trepidation after reading reviews. I was initially disappointed with the color scheme for 2014. I decided just to order the jacket now and check it out. It is still a nice jacket, and the colors are not as bad as I originally expected. Sizing, Men's -- a little on the large side. I ride the fence between Small and Medium, I picked up Med, and maybe Small would have worked. If you want a jacket, stop waiting and just buy this. March 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by I actually like it! At first, I was somewhat disappointed, mainly because past year's jackets had darker statement colors like the traditional blue and yellow, red and black etc. I received this jacket today, and It's really not that bad! I did however notice some inconsistencies from the picture worth noting: First off, the main zipper on my jacket is orange, and the one pictured is black. Also, the back collar on my jacket has a crest logo that says “Boson Runs As One” and not embroidered, but the one in the picture has the traditional “BAA 26.2” which (I think) is embroidered. I found the change to be mild, and does not make me like it any less. If I were to make one change, it would be to make the embroidered logos on the front and back dark blue like the tech shirt I bought because it stands out. I’m also not a big fan of the light blue and white stripe that continues from the shoulders all the way through the back. Other than that, I’m pleased with this jacket. Hey look, we trained hard to run this race. This jacket represents the most prestigious marathon in the world. If you are looking for a jacket to make a fashion statement, you’re wearing it for the wrong reason! December 25, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excitingly brite. This is my fourth Boston jacket of yours that I have all others are very nice. This 2014 Boston jacket fit and appearance great . Brite cool color and embroidering B A A. Patch front and back great selling point. Nice product will be tuff to top it . Can't wait to wear it on my trip to Boston in April. Thanks again January 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket! Great lightweight jacket. Love the orange although I'm not a huge fan of the blue stripes I knew they were on there so why gripe about it afterwards…. Would have been 5 stars but I think the screen printed logo on the collar should have been stitched on like the rest of the BAA logo. Sizing is slightly larger than last years jacket but my normal size still fit, it was just a bit looser. January 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Surprise, I really like the jacket! If 2013 is the standard, this one might fall a little short but it is a great jacket. The orange color is rich. It is not overly bright. It fits well and the front and back Boston logos look very good and make the jacket unique. The overall quality is excellent. I see no reason not to wear this jacket proudly. I expect to see a sea of Orange in Boston during marathon weekend. January 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Finally, improved Sleeve ends with slight elastic for e-z off and fit over gloves; "slight" = good because it's eventual decline will not make the ends too loose. Panel under zipper---no more jams!! Last 3 yrs jacket zippers readily jammed in both directions, so this is a huge plus. Bottom Line: Well worth the xtra $10---and hey, it's Boston Strong. January 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sharp Jacket I was hesitant to order this jacket based on the numerous negative reviews, but with this being my first year to run the Boston I decided to go ahead and order it. I am so glad I did! Although I was disappointed it didn't have the 26.2 embroidary on the collar like in past years, I think the jacket still looks great and fits well. January 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 80's Tastic This jacket brings back so much of the 80's, it's quality is unmatched. The colors are bright enough to be from the mars rover. The shoulder stripes, seem ugly to being with, but grow on you in a Stockholm Syndrome fashion. My only regret is that they don't make shorts that are short enough to complete the 80's look properly. February 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent running jacket. Love it!! To be honest, I wanted one of these jackets as a keep sake for what the Boston Marathon means, especially after last year. So I was not buying it based on what it looked like...I could not be happier with the quality, color and design. The jacket is excellent quality. Can't wait to see the huge field of orange on marathon day. January 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid construction Sizing runs slightly small, but will still fit you comfortably. This has somewhat of an athletic fit, which is to say on the snug side. It will hug you. Very sharp looking, and with that bright orange, you can`t help but get noticed. The signature Adidas stripes make this jacket, and you, look very cool. March 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Collar Where is the BAA 26.2 on the collar ? I am disappointed it's not on there, the small BAA logo on the collar instead is totally unnecessary because you have the LARGER one on the middle of the back of jacket. Other than that, I like the color. I think I am one of the few who does, though January 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by 2014 Boston Marathon Jacket Beautiful colors and great fit! I love the craftsmanship of this product. Some runners wondered about this year's colors. Rated 4 out of 5 by Will definitely be seen This is a bright orange jacket, but I don't mind. With 40,000 runners, it would be a challenge to find a color that makes everyone happy. The stitching and quality are good on the jacket the I received. I am 6 foot and 170 with a long torso. The medium size fits perfectly. March 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Proud to wear Same material and sizing as last year (fits exactly the same). I like this is available on line prior to the Boston Expo as the lines there are so long and this is exactly what you would get there. March 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Looks better than the picture I just got my jacket yesterday and it looks much better than the one in the picture. It's more of a florescent orange which is easier to see if you run at night or early in the morning like I do. January 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Disappointing The product itself is OK for the money. A keep sake for an important event. However, it is not at all "classy" and not the sort of thing that I will wear often February 5, 2014
