Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic perfection These are a must-have for old school Adidas fans. The lines and proportions are just perfect, it's the classic Adidas look. Lean and sreamlined with no extra bulk. I am a size 11 in Adidas and this pair fits me like a glove, exactly right. I have added an insert because I need more support - they are fairly flat on their own. But with a good insert, they are unbeatable. The Rom is a great all-around everyday sneaker which goes with just about everything. For athletic shoes, I recommend browsing the performance section - these are all about casual wear not hardcore running. Now if only Adidas would bring back the Chile 62... January 24, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by FINALLY!!!! I've been waiting for these forever... No disrespect Adidas but it's about time. I've been checking this web site, Zappos, for YEARS for this shoe to come back. Not some variant like the dragon or SL but the actual ROM shoe--and brought back with old school-ish colors and not like a stripe colored outsole. Tracking used and new-old stock ROM's on Ebay you could tell the popularity of the shoe. It's interesting that either Adidas didn't see this or neglected this on purpose. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now that I've ordered the green striped ones, how about a red stripe like the old ROM Vienna? I'll buy 10 pairs. In the early 1970's when I was about 12 years old and hoped to be the next great American miler, I spent four times the usual amount for a pair of "sneakers" and bought my first pair of Rom's. White with green stripes! I remember everything about my first adidas purchase. The smell of the leather, the great looks, and the slipper-like feel on my feet. I was a now a serious runner! I felt I had to run well to deserve to wear adidas, still do! All my friends made fun of me for spending so much money, I think back in 1972 I paid $18.00 for the Rom. I have been visiting the website for quite some time hoping that this shoe would appear. I wore these shoes throughout the seventies and early eighties and am so delighted to wear them again. Although not the original white with blue stripes, I do love the white /green and black/white. As a side note for others, I do find the shoes to be more narrow than I remember but otherwise sizing is fine. Thanks Adidas. Let's hold on the a great thing!!! January 19, 2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brings Back Memories! This shoe is perhaps the most widely known soccer training shoe that Adidas ever produced. Classic design and great sole. Discontinuing its production was a great mistake, and I have waited over 25 years for its return as it was. I have tried the look-a-likes but was never impressed. This one is the real deal! I am so glad that they brought back the Rom!!!! I may have to buy several more pairs to last me a lifetime. What happened to the size 8 and why is it not available? Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfort Food for the Feet I purchased my first set of Adidas as an Army Brat in Idar-Oberstein, Germany in 1970--a pair of white with red stripes "Vienna"shoes...then my second pair of white with blue stripes "Rom" shoes, in 1971. The Roms were my favorite and I wore them for 4 years, until the start of 11th grade when my mother insisted they were too "stinky" and worn out to keep. Back then I worked as the Stars and Stripes newspaper delivery boy for our post and the money I earned doing that "empowered" me to buy these shoes my parents would not have been able to afford. With this most recent purchase, I wanted another set of the white with blue stripes but had to settle for the green striped ones. My adult children think I'm "regressing" and smile as they cautiously/curiously watch me strut around in these Roms. The are great! Even though I'm certain these 53 year old legs can no longer run the 100 yard-dash in the low to mid 10 seconds range...I at least "feel" in my mind like I can. Isn't nostalgia grand...!?!! If they come out with the white with blue stripe scheme, I'm buying those too! May 17, 2012

I have been looking off an on for years on the Originals site for a pair of ROM's, which were the absolute most classic shoe of the 70s and even early 80s and I finally saw them up here. I have friends who were bringing them back from Amsterdam and other parts of Europe, but I could not find them here until now. The only knock I have on them is that they are not the original, iconic royal blue stripes. In their time, there was the ROM with the blue stripes, the Vienna with the red stripes, and I cannot remember which had the green stripes. March 28, 2012

These ROMs are more narrow than previous ROMs. The ROMs I've bought before fit great. These are too narrow, especially in the back. My previous two ROMs have same size sole. Now, I don't notice anything different between my "good-ole-pair" and my "good new-pair." I have diabetes now and I feared the shoes would be too tight. They fit perfectly. With the diabetic neuropathy in my feet it has been difficult to find comfortable shoes Our memories always remember things better than they were and that makes me question my feeling that the old ones may have been softer. Rated 5 out of 5 by Rock the Rom Got a pair in white and green, these shoes are insane! They have the vintage look that I always rock, look great with a pair of fresh bootcuts and a polo. Plus, they last forever! Buy one pair and you're (basically) set for life...even though you'll wanna buy more. I've had my pair for about a year, put them through gym workouts, running, biking, mountain climbing, took them around the Grand Canyon and they still look great and feel perfect. Rated 4 out of 5 by Reproduction of an old classic ROM ...although its still one of my best shoes ever that i've owned, somehow it seemed more like an under par reproduction of the old classic ROM. The fit is still good and still looks classy except i would've preferred the blue rather than the green stripes. The sole has an entirely different feel and looks to it...not as gelly as it used to be and its missing a lot of the 3 feathers feature. And as usual very comfortable even when i was trying to break in to it. I'm rating it between an 80 to 90 overall. March 13, 2012

Rated 1 out of 5 Long Wait! Disappointed Really have been waiting on the black pair for sometime now so, I purchased the black/white pair and white/green pair. The black pair was cut too small and was very snug on my right toe; the green pair was a perfect fit which proved the black pair was an irregular. I wanted to exchange the black pair for another pair, but wearing a size 14 (of course!) was sold out. Now, I can only hope to find in an originals store with this pair. Rated 4 out of 5 by Sweet looking shoe, bad sizing Absolutey love the shoes but it would have been better if they fit. It's extremely rare that an 11.5 (U.S.) won't fit. These were just too short my big toes were jammed into the end of the shoe, so much so that I'm not sure if a 12 will fit either and I hate to pay shipping back and forth just to find a size that will work. Outside of the sizing issue the buying and shipping process was very easy. Love the look of the black/white/gum very classic! Just wish I could have worn them. January 20, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Just picked up my first pair of Roms about 2 weeks ago, been wearing them almost every day, and so far I am very satisfied. I've always liked Spezials for being similar in cut and style to the Samba, but more distinct. I got the Roms for the same reason, and for the fact that they were designed for all around training, not one particular sport. They're very comfortable, light, cut the way I like them, and are slightly different than a Samba (although most people will think they're Sambas at first). My favourite detail is the soles. They offer a lot of cushion, and between the "teeth" and the "cups" a lot of grip whether on concrete, grass, rocks, or dirt. I have used them to train/practice Kung Fu outdoors and handball quite a few times, and am very satisfied. They feel like an extension of my foot, give me a lot of control, and style too. My only concern is the spot between the toe suede and front stripe. It seems pretty delicate, like it could wear thin or separate from the sole. I'm gonna try to take it easy on that area. However, it's comforting to hear people who have had them for a long time say they're really durable. I hope they are as long lasting as the other reviewers are saying because I like them a lot. Rated 4 out of 5 by The shoes are very nice but the sizing is wrong. You need to buy these shoes at least 0.5 size bigger than you normally buy. I have 6 pairs of different Adidas Originals shoes, all of them are the size 9.5 and they perfectly fit. But when I received my order with 9.5 size ROM shoes, they were too small. So, I returned them and ordered size 10. The size 10 is much better fit, but still kind of narrow. So, I hope they will expand after a few weeks of wearing. February 14, 2013

When I learned that Adidas came out with a white over black version, I JUST HAD TO GET IT! I have the blue over white, military green over white and burgundy over white and now this one.
