Not recommended for training if it includes running, causes blisters!- I purchased the socks as they were supposedly over the calf compression socks. I intended to and did use them for training and running road races, specifically the marathon. I have used different styles of Adidas socks and I have been wowed by each sytle I have used. Not these socks.
- unlike other compression socks that feel smooth to the touch, these socks feel rough to the touch. When you wear them and use them while training (especially running) there is an uncomfortable scratchy feeling at the base of the foot which I thought would go away after a while. I thought that I needed to 'break in' the socks.
- Also, the socks are rather too long and go past the knee (I am 5 11) which means that you have to fold them like soccer socks for them to fit. Once you do that, they become tighter at the place where the folded part of the socks is (just below the knee) and this affects blood circulation. Not nice. Most over the calf compression/recovery socks end just below the knee.
- On race day (full marathon) against my better judgment, I used them and I blistered for the first time ever whilst running/training. The blister was painful and sidelined me for a week.
- I don't recommend them for training if the training includes any sort of running, especially for any long distances.

This style of calf sock is very comfortable. I would buy in the future.
