I have worn Adidas Sambas for more than 25 years. They were the only sneaker shoe I have worn. I have been a loyal Adidas Samba owner and have had more than 40 pairs of them over the years. WHAT HAPPENED ADIDAS? Your 12.5 size is smaller than they used to be, while the 13's are still too big. The leather is hard and looks like plastic! I bought the last several pairs online because local stores no longer carry 12.5. With my purchase several months ago, I initially thought it was a mistake, so I literally bought another pair but they are still too small as well. I still have old pairs to compare them with and the new ones are smaller. SIZE MATTERS - SO DO CUSTOMERS What happened Adidas?
They fit a hair smaller than my other Sambas, but I fear they will crease if I go 1/2 a size up. Thin socks make them work. The leather tongue makes a squeak sound when I walk as it rubs against the inside.
Love the look and feel of these shoes. The real leather adds such a nice texture and solidity, and the shape is gorgeous. The only thing I could possibly want improvement on is reinforcement of the heel part with the logo, and the toe, as they can be flimsy. Overall, amazing product, and I will be a regular customer!
The ones with the Large Tongue (indoor ones) will not squeak as much since the inner lining is more of a felt fabric. The ones without the large tongue have a synthetic lining and synthetic tongue which is causing the squeaking that many are complaining about.
Squeaking? Get some sandpaper and rough up the leather where the tongue touches the inner eyestay - no more squeak! I'm only putting 4/5 stars because it's a crime ADIDAS doesn't allow you to get the longer, ribbed CLASSIC Samba tongue on these custom kicks. These are my 17th pair of Sambas in the past 10 years. I love them all, but the CLASSIC Sambas have always been my favorite ... if only we could get some without that gross nasty raw gum sole
For nearly a decade I have used sambas as underway shoes. They are comfortable to wear. Their soles grip well on deck plates, even in machinery spaces. From the bilge to the treadmill, from hiking deer mt in Ketchikan AK to running around Manama Bahrain, these shoes have demonstrated versatility. The only thing I would prefer would be an American or Canadian made shoe.
These trainers are overpriced synthetic garbage. Just what part of the upper, besides the suede pieces, are "full grain leather upper?" I have had these for about 2 weeks and the creases at the toes have started to bubble where the creasing has formed. Mistakenly thinking that if I oiled them with leather oil, the "leather" would be hydrated and bubbling would stop, I applied several applications of neatsfoot oil - the same leather oil that I use to soften and waterproof my $350 Redwing work boots. Only, it seems the oil just evaporates rather than absorbs. Upon closer examination of the shoe upper materials, I am not sure there actually is any leather in the uppers at all, save for the suede pieces at the toes. The fact that Adidas is charging more for a product that is clearly inferior in materials and its ability to last than its Samba Classic predecessor, is deplorable. Will not be buying these again.
I can get cheap clothes but I never get cheap shoes because foot comfort is essential to a runner who has back pain like me. I love the look of these shoes, they are classic. But they also feel good on my feet after standing four hours in front of a classroom. So good all the way. Good surprise.
I ordered my normal size 10-1/2 and they were too tight. I wore them several days and they did not loosen up. They eye so tough i could feel one of the dimples of the sole through the insole, which became all I could feel and caused shooting pain up my leg after two days wear. U sent them back and got an 11. They are way bigger than the 10-1/2 where my tour went all the way to the end. My toe ends at the beginning of the suede with an inch of room left. But, they are pretty comfortable and they look great with everything. I just wish they were a little looser for the proper size. All my other athletic shoes are 10-1/2, even other Adidas, and fit perfectly, but these were too small. Yes, they squeak. Haven't tried to fix it yet. One of the tongues folds up and hits my toes causing irritation. I think it is because the 11s are slightly too big. Hoping it well eventually break in. Wish they were all leather. The vinyl causes all of the problems: squeak, uncomfortable tongue, and too sweaty in bare feet.
They are Samba's, enough said there. One complaint though, they tend to squeak. This is a very common complaint I have seen. Makes it very awkward when you are walking thru a quiet place, like a library or working office.
there s something very wrong with this pair. they re very hard and small . I know my size but this time my right foot has suffered greatly. the shoe is very hard inside and kinda small cuz it hurts my toe. I stop using it for good I just cant wear it like this.
I've worn Sambas, almost exclusively, for 15 years. I currently own 9 pairs. The current revision is built incredibly cheaply, compared to the older ones. The only advantage over the previous revision is they've fixed the issue it had where the fabric of the rear inner would ware away, leaving a plastic piece that'd dig into your foot. However, it was still made better than this current one. The one previous to that one had none of these problems. I can only assume cost-cutting has lead to this great shoe becoming a shadow of its former self. Please bring back the Samba K. That was the finest of all Sambas I own. I think the "Samba Classic" is still available. It's better than this one, but I haven't bought a pair in a while, so don't take my word for it.
Been wearing Sambas for many many years and my fav version was the K which had the softest kangaroo leather. My last pair finally fell apart and I was torn and bought the cheeper classics but they were never as nice as the K version. I took a chance and customized a pair of the Mi Sambas and I could not be happier. They fit as expected and the quality is way better than the regular Sambas or Samba classics.
I Always Wanted These Shoes And I Got Them. And Always Wanted A Shoe That Had A Lot Of Traction On Them Cause I Am A Goalkeeper And Previous Shoes I Wore Kept Sliping Of The Ground When I Try To Dive For The Ball And It, s Annoying. Really Love Them, These Shoes Really Give The Reflexes And The Agility To Block A Shot Cause Of It, s Amazing Traction, Also Very Comfortable And And Stays Firm On Any Surface, Except On Wet Pavement Lol, But Overall, These Shoes Are Awsome.
I do not reside in USA, I am from Bangladesh. See this pair here I was so badly mesmerised that I just had to get one! When my sister toured USA, I made sure she gets me one. The day I 1st unwrapped it, I was awed by their 1st look!! Simply love it! My sister has visited USA again, this time going to get ZX Flux Red :D You keep making such awe-inspiring designs, Adidas and I'll forever be loyal to your product :D
I board, play soccer, and do normal day things with this shoe. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I have had four pairs now and I'm still getting new ones. These will last for a long time, I have had each one of my pairs for at least one year! I would totally recommend these to anyone and everyone!
The tongue of this shoe is extremely loud and squeaky, so much so that whenever I walk past someone in a loud hallway they still look at my shoes with an inquisitive expression. If I oil the tongue with 3-and-1 oil, it stops squeaking for a few hours but I have to oil it again at lunchtime. The shoe is also made from some easily scraped cheap material with very little leather on it. If you want leather get the Adidas Spezial, which is suede. I'm never buying these again.
Bought these on the weekend and by Tuesday they were at my doorstep! I picked the 4-7 day free ship and they got there within 24hours! SUPER IMPRESSED! I guess if you pay for 2day shipping it will show up yesterday. Shoes fit great and take me back to when I was playing soccer back in high school, I love this design better than the big tongue version for just kicking around and the occasional indoor soccer match. Classics never die.
I've bern looking for a good comfortable indoor soccer shoes. And now i finally have it. I will recommend this shoe and shopping at adidas store to everyone. I was shocked that my purchase was deliver so early to my house and i'm going to keep shopping at adidas store.
I am a 6.5 in girl shoes but I ordered a size 4.5 so these shoes and they fit me just right! I am so in love with them and they're so comfortable as well as stylish! They are a but stiff and squeaky at first but when you break them in they are PERFECT!
I just want you to know that I have been wearing Adidas Sambas for near 20 years. I have 3 pairs right now, all of which are size 12. This pair of MiAdidas that say size 12, do not fit. It's much more like a size 11. They are tight against my toes. I really regret ever ordering them, and will never do so again. If you are thinking about ordering these, don't. You can't return them even if there is a problem with their manufacturing. I am disappointed.
I bought the same shoe about a year ago and they have slightly improved it. The shoe is no longer really stiff when first wearing it, and there is no two weeks of "break-in" time....it is comfortable right out of the box. Regardless sambas are extremely comfortable, stylish, and my favorite sneakers for almost any occasion...
Shoes look great, fit great, and feel great. But, they squeak A LOT and constantly. Even just lifting the front of my foot while leaving the heel rested causes a noticeable squeak. Kind of embarrassing.
I ordered these shoes for my son who requested them specifically. I ordered them in his size and they were too small. I can tell you I groaned. I didn't want to face returning them, but adidas.com provided free shipping and free returns. All I had to do was print the label and tape it to the package. I ordered a larger pair for my son and they fit and look great. I will definitely use this site again to order shoes for my son.
I owned Sambas for years. When I grew out of them, I was disappointed. When I learned I could custom order them in my size, I was thrilled. However, the custom order Sambas are too narrow. I wear a 16 in running shoes. But these are just long enough, but are way too narrow, with little support of padding. I would say they are a half size too small and definitely too narrow. Also, the tongue lacks a piece to thread laces through it, thus it easily falls out of place. Seems like a simple easy thing to include in an expensive custom made version of the iconic shoe.
