First off, this is a great retro release. It's very accurate to the original and it's made with high quality leather. However, there's one thing about the US release that disappointed me. The style pictured in the Stan Smith Returns ads and marketing is actually the UK/international "vintage" release, which is even closer to the original than this modified US version. It also used higher quality materials. I'm a bit disappointed that adidas advertised one model in the US, then released something completely different. Other than that, they are classic and comfortable.
I noticed with Adidas pants that you should always go a size smaller than what you are. i bought these in a medium with hopes that they would fit me like they do the guy in the picture. but unfortunately they do not. i'm about 5'7-5'8 with a 31-32 waist size and i sent them back in for a small and tried them on an they fit just like the picture. i have bought other Adidas pants and have noticed the same as well. but overall they are nice sweats and i would recommend purchasing.
The soles are nice and grippy and have tiny little studs on the edges that I haven't seen with a lot of other skate shoe. They're extremely comfortable to wear casually or while skating, and after a week of skating they still look new. I chose these particular shoes because I hate for skate shoes to be too fat because of all that cushion, but this is just the right amount to look nice and give protection
I remember the young salesman in the Wilshire store so may pairs ago looking at me sincerely and exclaiming: "You know, these aren't good for anything anymore!" I guess he was right, they aren't for running, or sprinting, fencing, soccer, or even competitive tennis anymore. They are extremely comfortable, true to size, great for walking around and are acceptable casual shoes where other sports shoes might be frowned on. Stan Smiths have classic style and comfort. I guess that still makes them good for something.
I was lucky enough to purchase the OTHER Stan Smith floating around out there, the classic one with the stitched tongue and higher-quality materials all the way around. And I will say that it is an amazing shoe, classic style, incredibly comfortable, and simply beautiful on foot. If you can get your hands on the stitched-tongue style as opposed to the padded tongue you will not be disappointed. In a side-by-side comparison, the padded-tongue style available in the US just feels cheaper and a lower quality.
I own five pair of Samoas for work and casual wear, two of which I retired because I wore them so much. The shoes are extremely durable, I worked in a warehouse and wore these shoes to work everyday that's why I had to retire 2 of them due to excessive work load on them. I constantly got compliments on them and still do. Samoas are really comfortable and are perfect for people for wider feet. The construction is awesome and I find that the more they are worn the more comfortable they get. The tread on the Samos are pretty cool trefoils designs but it seems on all my pair of these shoes the sole wears down before anything else... of course after several yyyearss of wear.. just saying.. :)
There comes a time in each life when you realize that trendy means classic. That's what we have in this shoe both in style and utility. The shoe looks great from every angle. Even judging against my previous Addidas shoes, this one is the most comfortable for every day wear. The sole grips well and shields you from all those pebbles or other inconsistencies you may encounter on the street or in the mall. The arch is supportive and there is very little movement of the shoe while on your foot. The fit and trim are excellent. Complaint - only one, and it's terribly minor. The tongue could be a little wider at the ankle, but at least the tongue is of a thickness that is appropriate, unlike others I have worn.
I love these slides and have had multiple pair. When my last pair wore out, I order a new pair, like always. But you changed them! They used to have a nice soft inner lining portion of the upper strap. Now it's rigid and feels cheap. I'm sure there's a reason for the change, but it's not a good change. Please bring the old version back!
I usually wear 11s and ordered these in that size. There's some room in the toe buy they still fit well. Other than that, the shoes are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Very good looking too.
Love the all black versions of these classic trainer. Totally understated design with all black soul which i like as I'm not a jazzy logo type of person so this style with the three stripes being just perforated holes are perfect and work with a smart outfit aswell as just casual wear. And the best thing. They last for years. My only gripe is after buying one pair of asides footwear previously, learnt that all sizes are a whole one size two small. So normally I'd be 10.5 so bought 11.5 size and they are perfect. You may want to keep that in mind....
Before I was wearing these shoes I was about a 3. After wearing them for a week or so my mum says I'm a solid 8. People have started giving me the respect I deserve. I no longer fear mirrors. Definitely would buy again.
I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size down. These shoes are definitely the cleanest pair I own! They are my everyday use shoes. They look better the more you wear them, and they also get more and more comfortable as time goes on. To break them in, I'd recommend using a hair dryer on them and then just wear them around the house. Like I say, even though it's a white shoe, getting them dirty just gives them that character. Also if you decide ordering them true to your size, put an extra pair of insoles in there or something that will do the trick!
I bought my first pair of Stan Smith's in 1985 and have worn at least one pair each year since then. There were times when it became very difficult to purchase. Fortunately the internet made it much easier. For me, the simple white shoe with the green heel never goes out of style. Thank you adidas.
Had to put Shoe Goo them a couple times, but skated these until the bottoms fell out. Excellent durability, great shape, amazing board feel. That being said, I just wish there was a way to improve the impact support without sacrificing the board feel.
I was looking for something a little less running shoe for work. I saw several people wearing these on a recent business trip and decided to give them a try. Very comfortable, pretty good arch support.
