Front of the shoe where the shell toe and the shoe meet will bust after 6 months of wear. Only worn twice a week. Same thing with 3 other friends who bought this same shoe, would not recommend this at all.
I purchased custom slides. I love the soft suede and puny hair however the band that goes onto of the foot needs to be smaller to fit a woman's foot or more padded to prevent slipping and uncomfortable walking. If I were able to, I would return them since it's not practical to walk in. I would like to order more but will probably be a full size down.
Love everything about it EXCEPT the tongue. It's way too long and it's squeaky. Keep thinking I'm stepping on my dog's chew toy when walking through my house. Change the tongue and maybe slim down the sole a bit and they'd be perfect. Similar to the Gazelle OG.
These are some of the best shoes I've ever worn. 3 years ago I purchased a version of these shoes that I customized and only now are they starting to wear out. I was excited to buy a new pair, but disappointed to see that adidas no longer offers a size 15 option for the customizable version of the shoe. That's my only complaint with them. Other than that, you won't find a finer product.
Everything about the shoes are good, however when I first wear it I had realised the inner sole is different in size, one is my size but the other is definitely smaller than the other. Comfort is good, I love the design but finishing I would say can be improved.
Stan Smith "Pinwheels" Holy Grail of shoes. Literally everywhere I go wearing this, I get huge positive energy. I visited Sam's Tailor in Hong Kong, and the suitmakers were immediately freaking out. These guys hang out with celebrities every day, for sure they want their customers to be happy, but they were genuinely elated I was planning on wearing a custom white suit with these Stan Smiths. Out here in Asia, the design is so much more future than in the USA - I really hope Adidas continues pushing the envelope and making some seapunk . vaporwave . tumblr cyberpunk style shoes for the kids. Especially back in the US not many companies are really pushing the limits of design in that way (yet). I know based on my Stan Smith pinwheels that Adidas is one brand who is actively stepping it up. Please make some vaporwave cyber-shoes!
I got these shoes because of the style but I wasn't sure how comfortable they were going to be or how well they would fit, but I love these shoes I show them off and they are super comfortable and I can just slip them on. I do recommend getting a size up.
Leather! Comfortable with the great Gazelle arch support. Glad these are leather which holds up to the elements better than suede without all the need to prep them so much. Gazelles are one of the best trainers Adidas produces.
The Rod Laver has been updated to a gum outsole, which provides better grip and traction than previous versions of the shoe. Way to destroy a classic! These shoes are like bricks and are uncomfortable for everyday wear. My previous pairs were way lighter and were quality shoes. These are garbage and are being returned. Sorry Adidas, you messed up. Bring back the light versions, or just don't bother.
They're beautiful shoes, but the heel is too loose and the toes are too tight. There's no balance. Hence why I had to go with a size down for my heels to actually stay in the shoes while walking at the expense of my toes. However, they seem like they need some breaking in, unlike other sneakers as that front has gotten better, but not by much.
The "customized" version of this shoe is not like the original. It is thin and cheap. I have to buy the custom to get 13.5 size, but the 13.5 size custom is not the same size as the last 3 pairs I ordered.
I have worn Rod Laver for years. I have a high arch and these were the only shoe that fit my arch and I just had to get a new pair and they changed the arch. Could not wear them. Change back the arch, please.
The shoes are extremely heavy (1# lb ea.) and have a sloppy fit compared to originals. Wearing since 1978 handicapped with one arm serious tennis player! I always ordered 3-4 pairs at a time, because I could tie with hand and foot! Have two new pairs left they suck! Don't waste your money buying, not the same shoe by far!
Im disappointed that adidas had to revamp this classic with an ugly tongue, they should just sell it with the shorter blue tongue the way gazelles are meant to be! Tried to get a pair but none of the UK retailers deliver so have to make do with this new redesign, shame.
I absolutely love the quality of these shoes. The leather is different from the common Stan Smith design, not as stiff of bulky, and the back brand detail in a beutiful pink suede. I' ve gotten several compiments (I'm a gil- bought these men's shoes for myself)
The shoes are great for skateboarding in, also really durable. However I don't feel any comfort or support in them, maybe getting more flexible material or a better insole would be good. Other than that everything is great
I have worn Adidas Sambas for more than 25 years. They were the only sneaker shoe I have worn. I have been a loyal Adidas Samba owner and have had more than 40 pairs of them over the years. WHAT HAPPENED ADIDAS? Your 12.5 size is smaller than they used to be, while the 13's are still too big. The leather is hard and looks like plastic! I bought the last several pairs online because local stores no longer carry 12.5. With my purchase several months ago, I initially thought it was a mistake, so I literally bought another pair but they are still too small as well. I still have old pairs to compare them with and the new ones are smaller. SIZE MATTERS - SO DO CUSTOMERS What happened Adidas?
They fit a hair smaller than my other Sambas, but I fear they will crease if I go 1/2 a size up. Thin socks make them work. The leather tongue makes a squeak sound when I walk as it rubs against the inside.
This is the only pair of these I'll be buying--like everyone else says, they're mega-heavy! I grabbed them at an outlet 200 miles from home because they were cheap, then couldn't return them when I found out how awful they were. They are pretty durable, but in this case that's not a good thing, because I want them to go on and wear out!
I'm a size 6-6 1/2 but for sneakers I usually wear a size 7 or EU 38 based on my other sneakers because I want to have ample space for socks and my foot. I read most of the reviews here and on other websites selling this particular sneakers before ordering that the sizes are larger so you have to go down 1/2-1 than your actual shoe size. I ordered a size 5.5 based on reviews, I based it on the EU sizing on this website since EU 38 is US 6.5 so I went 1 size down to 5.5. The shoes are an exact fit, I think a thin socks can fit but if you want ample space for your foot like I do, maybe just go down 1/2 a size and not 1 full size down if you're going to use the EU sizing as your reference. I guess if you want the shoes to be an exact fit, go down a full size but if you still want ample space just go down 1/2 a size it really depends on your preference again I used the EU sizing as my reference.
If you're looking for light weight summer shoe, keep looking because this ain't it! The weight and the thickness of the sole didn't work for me. I had read the reviews that addressed this but decided to give them a try anyway, the reviews weren't lying, very heavy!!
Not many wide sneakers in this style from any brand. These have a wider toe box than most other adidas models as well as other brands making them more comfortable even if you have a wider than average foot.
Nice design for summer with a meshed texture. also single color point on white sneakers are very easy to coordinate dress up. I really like the width that is wider because I have wide feet. This is my second time to buy this model. The first one was red color 5 years ago. Thanks for keeping produce great sneakers. Kudos!
