I bought these to replace my last pair of Superstars. Thought they looked different without being too outlandish. I really love them. The weave is less obvious close up, but is enough to make you take a second look. The only thing I'm unsure about is the laces. I think they should be grey. The white ones are too stark and distract from the interesting pattern on the rest of the shoe. Great fit though and softer than some Superstars I've had in the past.
I just love these shoes. So cool and retro yet comfortable and versatile. Can be worn with baggy and skinny jeans equally well. Good level of waterproofing and quality. These are my second pair and I am a total convert. Get involved!
Loving the new Kai5er t-shirts - classic round neck and three stripes, simple but effective! Nice short 80s style sleeves and slim fitting but not tight body. The colours are striking and reminiscent of those worn by the Kaiser himself for club and country. Buy it now!
I really originally wanted some normal original adidas superstars but was majorly put off because they became so mainstream. When I saw these I really loved them so bought them, they are absolutely perfect in every way and I received many compliments and 'wow's off everyone who saw them.
Love at first sight. Not especially a fan of the superstar range given their ubiquity, but these are incredibly special because of the intricate tessellating woven pattern on the outer of the shoe, proving an incredibly sophisticated and unique addition to your summer / autumn wardrobe. The pattern up-close is unbelievably intricate and delicate, and becomes deceptively simple from further away, making it the ideal statement piece to dress up or down the rest of your threads, from smart to smart casual and vice versa. It'll look great with grey or faded jeans paired either with a white cotton tee or a grey wool over-coat as the summer months transition to autumn. I'm a 10.5 but I have to buy 10 / 10.5 / 11 sizes in almost every adidas shoe I try out to find the best fit. This superstar because of the thick padded interior runs a half a size smaller than usual, so I sized up to an 11, which even now is quite snug - but should loosen up with more regular wear given the upper is textile. My only gripe is the basic white laces the shoes come with, because they really flatten out and muddle the outer woven jacquard. I tried some custom laces [pictured] that I matched as best I could to the texture / tone of both colourways [this shoe is so good I had to have both!], and I feel they compliment the shoe a lot better, as there's less noisy contrast up zig zagging across the tongue from the toe piece. This keeps the white where it should be, on the statement shell-toe, which makes for a cleaner contrast of decorative upper and block coloured front-piece. I think it'd be nice if adidas could offer a spare set of laces in future product releases, so you have a choice to either blend or contrast them with the shoe itself. Overall, highly recommended.
Always wanted these shoes back in the 80's but I was a kid and had no money. But they are now mine at last, 30 years later. Kinda remind me of the red and white jabbar's adidas reissued about 10 years back, (please re reissue the jabbar shoes again). Anyways these shoes are cool and I recommend.
They are comfortable enough. But the best part about the sneaker is really all in the design. It's well rounded and suitable for a lot of wear. I would buy a second pair how much I like these sneakers here.
I bought this show because I love how timeless and simple the design is. I feel like shoes now are way too colorful and trying to do way too much. These are very comfortable and the leather is pretty tough, seems like they're going to last a while. For all the people saying they are a little narrow, I thought so too at first. I ordered two sizes, a 10 (my normal size) and a 10.5, to see which would fit better. I was trying to figure out which shoe was more comfortable before i started dirtying them up, and almost chose the 10.5 because it seemed like width was more comfortable for my foot even though they felt a little long. I ended up wearing the 10 around, hoping the shoe would break in and it wouldn't feel a little narrow afterwards, and that's exactly what they did. I recommend everyone buys they're normal size, because they become a lot more comfortable after you use them for a little while. Unless you have really wide feet, then I would order two sizes and decide for yourself.
Love this shoes. They not only look great but fit great as well. At first were a little on the small size, but after 1 hour or 2, they were completely fine. I'm wearing them with jeans and shorts, and look great. Always a spark conversation. I'm not planning on wearing them for its intended purpose, basketball. The only complaint I have it is that the shoes are bit hot. Also, the fact that I live in Miami does not help either. It is always hot in here.
I own 3 pairs of the hi top 10 and almost every time I wear them someone is telling me they are cool. I have a personalized version too, however a word of caution for those... for some reason on the personalized version they make the tongue in nylon only not the regular material which is really odd and kind of disappointing on the looks, comfort, and overall quality feel, too bad because it could have been a perfect combination.
These are very nice shoes and like them except for a few small things. First they are fitted way to tight; I had to pull the laces back a lot before I cloud cram my foot inside. Second even though my feet are in the shoes width is so narrow my circulation gets cut of unless I move my foot a little (and i have small feet width wise). Lastly the way they formed the back for the ankle is kinda uncomfortable. These would be way better if they simply made the width a little bigger
I just got my shoes in the mail. I was so excited! They look really good and I couldn't wait.... But even though I ordered a size bigger than usual thanks to reviews here, I couldn't even fit my foot into them. I'm returning them and getting another pair because I really really want these shoes, but there needs to be a wide width version of these. I'd hate to get my next pair just to find out they're impossibly long.
I got the Floral version of the shoe and let me tell you it looks way better in person. I didn't even notice but even the lace ends have gold tips on them. This shoe is so padded and is really comfortable. The design on the shoe is really cool and the shoe fit true to size. Would buy again for sure.
The shoe itself and the options are great. The laces are bizarre - unlike any other of the Adidas high-tops I own. And it appears Adidas doesn't sell laces. It seems like such a small thing - but I'm going to have to find replacement laces I like, or take them from another pair - I won't order another custom pair without finding a solution. These laces really stink.
Im from the old skool aera and had just about every color of top-ten,concords,and forums back in the 80's.None where ever comfortable or good for playing basketball but they look good on my feet.So when i see these tennis come backout n they don't come out often i got jump on them cause im so 80's.Remember they not track tennis!!!
As someone who grew up in Detroit I've seen a lot of top tens. The shoe has been popular there for years. To me this shoe is made with the same quality it always had. That's not always the case with retros. These shoes are very comfortable and not bulky. They are ,however ,a true high top. Despite the leather tongue, this shoe breathes. I live in Arizona now and I wore these in 100+ degree weather with no problem. These are great.
I love the classic look of the Top Ten basketball shoes, but I was surprised when I received my pair. I wear size 10 shoes and that's what I ordered, but I tried my Top Ten on and they were too small! This is the first time that I buy size 10 shoes and they don't fit me. Buyer beware! For Top Ten shoes (maybe Adidas shoes in general) I recommend ordering a half size bigger than what you normally wear.
This is my 3rd pair of basketball sneakers and my favorite pair. The quality of the leather is better than in my Tahoe!! The bottoms have great traction and they have excellent arch support. The colorway is amazing(white-blue-red)and goes great with anything. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to buying another pair in the navy and white colorway.
As a kid I bought my first pair of Top Tens in 1982, Red & White the Indiana colorway. They were 63.00 & I remember the day like it was yesterday, I caught the bus to Northland Mall in Southfield, Michigan. Unlike many people I did not buy mine because of the dope boys Y.B.I or any of the other drug organizations going on around Detroit at the time, I saw them in sports Illustrated & Indiana was wearing them, yes the Converse spokesman Isiah Thomas was the reason I bought them. I think Kiki Vandeweghe wore them also. I hope they bring back the Skywalkers in the Bright Blue, Yellow, Red & the original colorways of the Concords including the patents. I will buy every last one of them. I still have unworn Top Tens from the 80's when they were made in France, the Blue, Red & White & the all White. I hope the Top Ten Low comes back as well. It's nice after seeing what Nike did with the Air Jordan's & the Air Force One Adidas is taking care of it's often overlooked fans. The Silver & White Adidas ATP's were dope too, I'm looking for some size 10 if anyone has them unworn with original box only. I love Adidas, thanks for the gift this has made my day.
These shoes fit perfectly! Definitely buy them true to size. I absolutely love the look of them. They match most of my clothes and they have a very clean look to them. They're very snug and it has a lot of cushion for your feet without having too much on the soles. My only complaint is that the toe and the sides are not as stiff as I would like and so they do wrinkle easily. However the wrinkles are not too visible and shouldn't be a deciding factor on buying this shoe.
This latest retro is about as close to an original as you will get. They are well crafted and have great, quality leather. It's soft and pliable, unlike past retros of 80's shoes from other brands. Even the suede on the toe box is killer. If you find a good fit (TTS worked best for me) you will find the flex grove works well and helps break in time immensely. A true pioneer in basketball shoe lore, the Top Ten Hi!!
Top tens are my favorite but I love all the classic styles of adidas. Wish they were more available in the stores but glad I can atleast order them from adidas. I dont like all these crazy looking styles im seeing in the stores. Keep the top tens available, Love my adidas!
Wore my senior year of basketball in 83', and people thought I was crazy to pay $89 for a pair of shoes. Great to have a pair of these in my closet when I want to go old school with my boys on the court. Thanks for bringing these back, Adidas!
FOR ALL THE BIG BOYS WITH WIDE FEET, U MUST PURCHASE ONE FULL SIZE BIGGER!! I KNEW THIS AND PURCHASED A SIZE 13. SO I AM VERY HAPPY!!! NOW THEY NEED TO MAKE THE ALL WHITE ONE I HAD IN THE EARLY 80'S AND WORE TO WEST SIDE HIGH IN THE NYC!!!!
I own a lot of shoes and these have some of the best leather and the price you pay for amazing quality is well worth itl. I love those shoe so clean and comfortable. Do recommend going up half a size.
