First off, this is a great retro release. It's very accurate to the original and it's made with high quality leather. However, there's one thing about the US release that disappointed me. The style pictured in the Stan Smith Returns ads and marketing is actually the UK/international "vintage" release, which is even closer to the original than this modified US version. It also used higher quality materials. I'm a bit disappointed that adidas advertised one model in the US, then released something completely different. Other than that, they are classic and comfortable.
I remember the young salesman in the Wilshire store so may pairs ago looking at me sincerely and exclaiming: "You know, these aren't good for anything anymore!" I guess he was right, they aren't for running, or sprinting, fencing, soccer, or even competitive tennis anymore. They are extremely comfortable, true to size, great for walking around and are acceptable casual shoes where other sports shoes might be frowned on. Stan Smiths have classic style and comfort. I guess that still makes them good for something.
These are my favorite shoes of all-time and I'm so glad they're back! It's been really difficult to find them in my size over the past couple of years (though I've managed to get lucky with random websites a couple of times). They're durable, comfortable, and versatile, and I think they look good too. My one recommendation would be to offer these in more colors! Ideally navy and dark gray, in addition to black and light gray. I'd really like a navy pair and hope to see them on here soon!
I was lucky enough to purchase the OTHER Stan Smith floating around out there, the classic one with the stitched tongue and higher-quality materials all the way around. And I will say that it is an amazing shoe, classic style, incredibly comfortable, and simply beautiful on foot. If you can get your hands on the stitched-tongue style as opposed to the padded tongue you will not be disappointed. In a side-by-side comparison, the padded-tongue style available in the US just feels cheaper and a lower quality.
There comes a time in each life when you realize that trendy means classic. That's what we have in this shoe both in style and utility. The shoe looks great from every angle. Even judging against my previous Addidas shoes, this one is the most comfortable for every day wear. The sole grips well and shields you from all those pebbles or other inconsistencies you may encounter on the street or in the mall. The arch is supportive and there is very little movement of the shoe while on your foot. The fit and trim are excellent. Complaint - only one, and it's terribly minor. The tongue could be a little wider at the ankle, but at least the tongue is of a thickness that is appropriate, unlike others I have worn.
I bought a pair a few weeks ago and I wear them a lot. Sometimes when I wear them for too long they get a bit wet from sweat so they got pretty stinky. And if you planing on getting the bottoms in white get some Clorox wipes or something because they get pretty dirty. I'd recommend them for running on sidewalks and going to parties but I personally think the price should go down though.
Campus has to be my favorite adidas shoes and as a lot of people may found out, they're pretty difficult to find, I heard they're deadstock, it's a shame...until now, it's so great that adidas decided to re-release them again. Navy blue color is almost impossible to find now, I really really hope adidas consider to release them. For the last couple of years I was able to find the black, gray and blue ones in my size.
I love these shoes. These shoes are very comfortable and they offer great support for walking around and even running, the one disappointing thing is that with most running shoes they offer a sort of bounce when running that these shoes don't but by not doing it build up your leg strength so there's a positive and negative side. Definitely recommend, worth the price, look great, will wear for a while. I ordered a size up because I have a tad wider feet.
I'm in utter shock what's going on here. Here I am, an Adidas fan of the prior bounce and new boost lineup, finding it hard to believe that the runner is the best pair I've worn so far. I've invested +$100 in the boost technology one year ago and wore it devotionally; I thought it was the god of all running shoes, but dang did it come at a cost. But then I stumbled upon these, thinking that id wear it for casual wear and style. One day I forgot my boosts at home, so I decided to test these out at the gym. It did me wonders. Comfortable, great absorption at the heel, amazing. Man, did I put other runners to shame when I silently ran past them while they stomp the track. So here I am, again, questioning how these $75 dollar shoes managed to surpass my expectations and match up to the legendary boost technology. Few trivial concerns: annoying crease line at the back of the shoe, every time I sit down and sprawl out my legs I feel the crease line nudging my heel; I'm used to Adidas' usual tight fit but this one runs a little bigger; can feel it slip a little off when I did calf raises, perhaps because it ran a little bigger and the mouth of the shoe has a stretch-like material.
Love the all black versions of these classic trainer. Totally understated design with all black soul which i like as I'm not a jazzy logo type of person so this style with the three stripes being just perforated holes are perfect and work with a smart outfit aswell as just casual wear. And the best thing. They last for years. My only gripe is after buying one pair of asides footwear previously, learnt that all sizes are a whole one size two small. So normally I'd be 10.5 so bought 11.5 size and they are perfect. You may want to keep that in mind....
When I stopped by my local adidas store to try these on I was surprised to find them tucked away in the back literally behind a wall with very limited color selection; on top of that they only had women sizes. I ignored the staff's decidedly indifferent attitude toward the shoe (probably why they are retail clerks and not a part of the creative team), figured out my best fit and ordered online. (half a sz down from my normal adidas shoe sz) Best decision I've made shoe wise in legitimately years. Received them right before a trip to the desert and even with my bad knee I was in 100% comfort the entire trip. Better than any "runner" out there - I will definitely be buying more in the future
I bought my first pair of Stan Smith's in 1985 and have worn at least one pair each year since then. There were times when it became very difficult to purchase. Fortunately the internet made it much easier. For me, the simple white shoe with the green heel never goes out of style. Thank you adidas.
I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size down. These shoes are definitely the cleanest pair I own! They are my everyday use shoes. They look better the more you wear them, and they also get more and more comfortable as time goes on. To break them in, I'd recommend using a hair dryer on them and then just wear them around the house. Like I say, even though it's a white shoe, getting them dirty just gives them that character. Also if you decide ordering them true to your size, put an extra pair of insoles in there or something that will do the trick!
These shoes are amazing i love them so much! They are an early birthday present and they are perfect. One of my foot is a size6 and the other 5.5. I tried to look for the 5.5 but it was sold out but to my surprise the 6 fitted it was ever so slightly slipping but once i tied the shoelace tight it was fine!! I recommend this to everyone!!!
I am 13 years old and a size 11 in mens. They run snug but the materials are very stretchy and i have very wide feet. If you do have wide feet, or you like a looser fitting shoe, I would recommend going up half a size. Overall for the price these are amazing! They are super detailed and way cooler than roshes in my opinion. Roshes how ever are a bit more confortable. If you are on the fence about these I would definitely say go for it! Great shoe!
