I work on concrete floors all day, walking close to 5 miles a day. These shoes are like walking on beds of squishy marshmallow wonderment. I am sure if i round housed someone in the face with these on, they would thank me for the soft, gentle embrace of encouragement the sole of this shoe provides. Four of my co- workers have made the same investment in their soles! 3 X45 degrees for life!
I have owned 2 pairs of the Energy Boosts and LOVED these shoes as hands down the best and most durable neutral trainers I've found. I wanted to get a distance racing or tempo shoe with Boost, but wanted just a little more cushion than the Adios. Along comes the Boston 5 , and I was definitely not disappointed by this shoe. It's got a lighter, firmer and slightly lower to the ground feel than the Energy Boost, but is not lacking in cushioning whatsoever with distance up to 15 miles so far. As I said, great addition!
This is my first pair of Boost running shoes. It is a great distance running shoe: comfortable, light, provides tons of shock absorption and keeps your body feeling energized mile after mile. It fits true to size and has a generous toe box area. Future generations will wonder how we used to run on anything else. Based on my use so far, I don't think I would use these for higher intensity running drills like 200s or shorter, but for its intended use, you can't beat it. Construction of the shoe is very high quality, with premium blending of materials and nicely executed 3D effect with 3 stripes and logo on the tongue and heal cap.
I never thought I'd love a pair of shoes so much but these shoes are something special. Initially I felt they were a bit odd and different, not in a bad way but something I wasn't used to. I really enjoyed the light weight and how incredibly comfortable they were. I love being able to wear them without socks and my feet are very comfortable. The first two days I was only walking in them around work but.. The magic happened when I finally went for a run. I wore minimalist running shoes before and the pure boost are on a completely different level. I could run longer, harder, and faster. I felt the shoe gave an incredible amount of support and comfort which most minimalist shoes don't seem to offer. My running shoes are now my every day shoes and I couldn't be more satisfied.
This is probably the best shoe i have ever tried on. It is too bad this shoe runs small and the biggest size available is 12.5...I wear a 12 usually but since these run small i tried a 12.5 they were extremely comfortable but still small..probably the most comfortable shoe i have ever put on. Adidas you have created a god like shoe; however, its too small...please make a larger size. Would be a five star from me but you don't make a large enough shoe for me. It would be amazing if i could fully experience these shoes. Please make a size 13. With all respects, Jrob8
I got these last week as an early Christmas present. So far I've put 24 miles on them. The bottom of the shoe is great. The boost foam makes it cushioned but it is still responsive and light and the traction on roads is phenomenal. However, I'm not very happy with the upper. The toe box is quite narrow, the length is good (I ordered a size 11) but the D width is really freakin' tight. Also, why Adidas chose to make the toe of the shoe out of felt is beyond me. I've had to put a lubricant on my toes to stop them from rubbing against the shoe and each other. I hope that Adidas fixes the upper on this shoe because it is a dang good running shoe.
I'am 5 45, 160lbs. I usually wear slim-fit medium shirts and pants from both adidas performance, and originals. If you want a slim-fit/muscle-fit, buy a small size, which is what I did and still comfortable. But if you want some more room and does not care about the shape of your body, but a medium.
For me, the sizing is always tricky with Adidas shoes. I went up a full size in these. Normally wear a 9.5, tried on a 10 and it was too tight, 10.5 is just right. From the very first moment these shoes felt GREAT on my foot. I usually use that as a gauge for buying running shoes. As a 43 year old who has sustained many injuries over the years, I like softer running shoes. These are the best of both worlds, IMO, because the boost sole provides a very soft landing (I do all my runs on pavement/concrete) but the shoes still have plenty of "pop" for when you up the tempo. At 10mm, the heel-to-toe drop is a bit higher than I prefer (I like 6mm or 8mm) but I don't scrape my heels in these shoes because of the way the heel is shaped, there is a slitght "upturn" to it that works with my midfoot stride. I have also learned that it is not all about static drop. Drop is really dynamic, especially if you are a midfoot to light heel striker like me. A soft heel, which this shoe has, flattens out more when weighted during footstrike. I also have Saucony Triumph 12 (ISO), which are marketed as cushioned shoes. While they ARE soft, I find the Boost soles even softer and more comfortable. I think the Solar Red looks awesome. Great color. I will definitely buy another pair of these shoes.
As someone who regularly wears nikes specifically flyknit s and airmaxs I was skeptical about the boost technology . After wearing these I'm a believer , immensely more comfortable and breathable . If your hesitating to try these don't . I found I'm more comfortable in a half size smaller then my normal nike size .
I have had 2 pairs. The first pair I put 450 miles on them. I've run in the in just about every weather condition this winter and they held up great. On my second pair I've just ran a full marathon. I will have to agree when I first got the shoe. I thought the construction might fall apart but after all the miles on them and also being wet a good amount of the time. I would recommend these shoes to everyone that has the right foot type.
I purchased these shoes and my first though was wow. The Boost technology is amazing. Never felt anything like it on my feet. Unfortunately, at the end of a day, to and from work (I don't walk much at work) the shoes became unbearable. Adidas made a huge design flaw with the tongue of the shoe. It was almost too stiff causing it to drive into my ankles, which started out to be irritating and eventually unbearable. Shoes went back. Everything else on the shoe was fantastic. Upon returning the shoes, the sales clerk indicated that there a number of returns for the same reason. I can't believe being a newer generation of the Boost shoes, that Adidas could make such a big mistake. I would stick with the Energy Boost. Not as much of the Boost technology, but no irritating tongue.
These shoes are good looking, but I am the voice of many that have the issue of size. Sadly the shoes were too small, so I would ask if they could extend the size to 14 or higher to get more of the larger shoe size buyers.
They are extremely comfortable I love them from the second I tried them on. Boost is definately a revolution in cushioning. They support my feet and the foam feels stable even when doing serious running and they are great for casual everyday wear. Thank you Adidas for making such a great shoe. I totally recommend them for causal use, the only problem is that the cutouts in the insole dig into your foot after running long distances. While its cool that you can see the Boost foam from the insole, if you do alot of running in them then the cutouts in the insole causes blisters :( so I took one star away. If they can fix that then the next shoe should be even better!!!!
I have worn the trainers twice since receiving them, i have done a 18k & a 14k both time trainers where very comfy with no issues. I also have improved on my slits time buy 10 to 15 seconds per kilometre don't know if this is just in my head or the trainers ???
Fantastic running shoes and not only: I've been walking around in them every day since they arrived and they feel great. Very light and responsive yet not too springy. I ordered one half size up from my usual size and they fit perfectly. The outsole seems durable enough and shows no sign of wear so far so I hope I will be walking and running in these fantastic shoes for a very long time.
