Initial reluctance to buy these shoes after reading the mixed reviews was replaced by being pleasantly surprised having bought a pair after being sent an on-line discount voucher, to which I used to purchase my pair. I work quayside with off-shore boats, sometimes working a 16-18 hour shift, so comfort and reliability is a must, and these shoes do not disappoint. In addition, I also have to drive trucks/vans during my shift and have found these shoes to be both unrestrictive and comfortable during driving. I would buy at least a 1/2 size bigger than your 'normal' shoes (something I tend to do with all adidas shoes purchased), other than that I can not find anything negative to say about my purchase.
You get what you pay for when you purchase addidas. These boots aren't cheap but the quality and feel of the product more than justify the price tag. This is my second pair and the first have lasted me years. You won't be disappointed.
This is the second pair of these boots I have purchased. This time I bought them direct from Adidas as they were the cheapest online. They keep your feet warm in the winter and surprisingly normal in the summer. They feel more like you're wearing a pair of trainers rather than boots.
It's still early but these are the most comfortable boots out of the box I have ever owned. Time will tell if they stay that way after heavy use. I have narrow feet and they are a perfect width at my normal shoe size. Wider feet may need to size up.
My boots just got in.I ordered a size nine and they fit just perfect so order half size bigger I recommend. Also I was scared that the color was going to be off due to other reviews I read. I was expecting mustard color and theyre a hemp color beige. They're freaking awesome ! getting another pair asap
Had a pair of predecessors to the GSG-9.2 and this time went for the shorter 9.7 because of the price difference. Had not recognised the differences in the two, just assumed the 9.7 was shorter. The leather uppers continue higher on the 9.2, which is textile on the 9.7 plus the toe design is different and better on the 9.2. Overall, next time I'd spend more money and get the 9.2. Though by that time adidas may have tweaked this popular design classic still further.
Heard loads of good stuff about these boots so I brought some for my husband for xmas and he was was extremely pleased. They definitely live up to his expectations. Comfortable, durable and true to size. Lightweight and flexible without compensating on quality. Really pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend. Top quality product.
Like many have already mentioned, these fit a bit small on the inside, especially when you have to wear thicker socks with these boots. I had to return my order so I did not have enough experience wearing them. I do wish adidas could use a different type of shoe lace though.
These boots are the most comfortable, durable boots I have ever used thus far. They appear a bit bulky at first but the feel very light once you put them on. Most police boots are either light and not very durable, or are durable but feel like cement if you have to run in them. This is not a problem with the GSG-9 boots which seem to have that perfect balance.
I'm very excited about the boot. I'm glad I ordered the boot a 1/2 inch size larger than my true size which is a 12. The 1/2 inch fits perfect. The boot is comfortable, the sole is quality. I threw some shoe polish on them and the boot really looks good.
I bought these for work, they are honestly the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I've always used magnums in that past, but these are ten fold better. Instantly comfortable without the need to break them in too. Now comfortable than my trainers in fact. Wholly recommended!
Recieved in good time, they looked great, unfortunately, they were too small, i gpt a size 10 which all my boots and trainers are, but these were very tight and not quite long enough, definitely come up a bit small, so would get next size up from usual. Quality was good though, just let down by the fit which is a shame.
Comfortable right out of the box. Felt like tennis shoes and could easily go on 8 mile rucks with them and run. Fast rope capabilities were great for the first year I had them (roughly 50 sticks). Highly recommend these!
I can't review on long term use, as I used it only one week. The shoe is super comfy , it's breathable so you don't overheat. The top covering the ankle is a bit bulkier than expected but overall a nice looking shoe.
I've been rocking the Burton Ion boots for a couple of years now, and I decided to try these out. The overall feel is similar to the Ion, but the Blauvelts are a quarter of the weight. The heel is locked down well, and the liner quickly forms to your feet. These boots are a little taller than most snowboard boots (e.g.: ThirtyTwo, Nike, etc.), but a quarter of an inch shorter than the Burton Ions. The speed-lace system is a little less smooth than the Burton ones and require more manual adjustments. The lace locking system also needs to be double checked sometimes. I've flexed it around with my park board for about an hour, and there have been no lace-breaking issues that I've read about on reviews for last year's boots. The leather tends to crease around the ankle after some walking, but they don't become an issue when you're locked into bindings. Although these boots have "adiprene" for cushioning, They aren't comparable to most other boots because the layer is extremely thin (you're very close to the ground). The Continental Rubber is amazing and very grippy. The Liner is a bit tough to pull out, mostly because of the weird cinch arrangement around the liner. If you're looking for a boot that is lighter, easier to walk in, and a little more flexible than the Burton Ion, this is for you!
I have not yet worn the boots for more than a few days but count on using them everyday in the Winter. They look and feel rugged and up for the task. They run small and narrow. I had to return and order a half size larger then my usual shoe size. The ordering process was easy and delivery was fast.
I actually ordered this by mistake as I originally wanted the 9.2, anyway as I received the shoe I've tried it in and looks of a nice solid make feels a bit wide at the top of the feet. I didn't use it so I can't comment on real life use. But I returned as I prefer the 9.2 to the 9.7, the return was free of charge no question asked and the money in the bank one week later.
It took about 20-30 hours of use before they really broke in. They were almost painful at the beginning (normal break in), but now they are amazing. The gore-tex works, and the leather polishes up great. These are very light for what you get and they are flexible too. My Danners are currently sitting in the corner collecting dust. If you can re-sole these boots I'll definitely keep them for a while. I went away from the GSG9's because I thought these might be too clunky...however I was wrong. Both myself and my feet are happy with this purchase.
Bought these boots for work as I needed a comfortable, lightweight yet hard wearing pair and I am not disappointed. Easy to get on and off even when laced up but not fastened (not like some others where you have to take the laces out of the top two eyelets to get your feet out) . The padded tongue provides enough cushioning so when the boot is fastened, there is no rubbing caused by the neck of the boot around the shin area and there is ample padding to prevent any rubbing around the rest of the boot top. It’s not too tight across the bridge of the foot either when it is fastened and it provides a firm enough contact with the ground but yet retaining flexibility in the boot itself. The traxion sole and the adiprene heel add cushion and rigidity in just the right amount on any surface. Size wise Adidas have got it just right, I’m a size 9 and it fits perfectly. Room enough inside for the feet to still move, but not too much so as to move and cause blisters. If there is one negative about this boot and it is only a minor personal one, I would say that the top 2 or 3 eyelets could possibly be replaced with a quick lace system, although this is just personal preference and may not be to everybody’s liking.
Boots are pretty solid but we'll see how the durability factors pans out in 6 months! Sizing a bit small- length was fine but sides are too narrow to be my first choice of shoe for comfort- hopefully leather will 'give' in time to change my mind! Ankle support is great and grip is excellent although I haven't tried it on ice yet- should I be worried? All round a pretty good boot but would have been better with the option of a wide fitting. Perhaps designers could use that feedback positively?
great quality. durable and still light and breathable. just be aware of size. I am usually 8.5 but I had to go with 9.5 for this one... my right foot still feel a bit tight but acceptable... as long as you got the size right, this is the best boots to use anytime anywhere
I have relatively narrow size 11 feet (I never have to size up or down), and these boots fit me perfectly. They're also surprisingly light weight. I love the way they look on me, too. However, I've only had these boots for a few weeks. It remains to be seen how long they'll last over the long term.
I am former military, and I have used a lot of "boots looking" shoes. I took this model for a hiking second day I received them and it is a rare model that does not harm my foot during first use. The weight is little more than running shoes.
Okay, so when I read all the reviews about how it was more yellow then tan I was a bit sceptical. I have been buying stuff from adidas for years and finally decided to buy these for hiking. Let me tell you that THEY ARE THE BEST FEELING THINGS I HAVE EVER PUT ON MY FEET!!! They are SSSOOOOO comfortable and fit my feet EXACTLY!!!! I never thought that I would ever find anything like these. They feel great! They are also suprisingly light weight too! I normally wore the Kanadia TR series for my daily and hiking shoe and these gsg9.3s feel almost the same weight. Now onto the color as I know people want to hear about that. If you look at the picture of the shoes, they do actually look a bit yellowish anywhere but the middle spot were the adidas 3 lines trademark logo thingy is. That part is actually the only part that is actually desert tan. In person the yellowish part does look a bit more yellow but not highlighter yellow like some other person wrote. I found that if you go to Micheals the craft store they have fabric spray paint dyes. I found a desert tan and to my suprise, it actaully made it look like a desert tan then a what I was imagining it would. I thought it would come out dark but no, it came out perfect! Afterwards I did spray a water repellant on them just incase as I did not want the dye to either fade out or come out when I walked throught streams, which is part of the reason I got the water repellent in the first place. I have a friend that just used brown shoe polish and it turned out better then the yellowish but darker than a desert tan. It wasn't that bad looking either. I let him use some of my water repellent spray and both of our color fixers have been staying in place for about 3 months now. In summery, I love the things as they are the most comfortable things I have ever worn before, but I do wish they were actually a desert tan. I STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!!!
Nice boot, but runs small. I wear a size 12 normally, but had to exchange the boots for size 13. Now they fit perfect. Just not sure why Adidas runs so small. Anyway, once you get the correct size, they fit really nice.
