Adidas shoes have always been the best purchase for work or play!

I'm a mail carrier and I walk 10 miles a day and these shoes are very light and comfortable. In the past the shoes I purchased from Adidas were too narrow in the toe area but on this shoe it seems like Adidas improved and made wider. ... read more

You won't regret it purchase

This shoe is as solid as it looks....tough in every way. The outer sole is massive and extends a fair bit beyond the heel width of the shoe and will surely provide excellent traction on any type of flat or inclined surface. I've never regretted any ADIDAS purchase and that includes this one!! ... read more

A fantastic off-road shoe

I bought these shoes as I had greatly enjoyed Adidas' Ultra Boost for road training and running (a fantastic shoe) but I'm building to a trail based ultra and wanted a grippier and more resistant upper. Its a superb shoe out of the box: comfortable, supportive and with excellent energy return. I'm delighted. My only complaint is the colour scheme which is as dull as can be. ... read more

Crazy grip and supreme comfort

the grip on this shoe is nuts. when i first got them you could hear them literally peel off the tarmac when you walk. The upper is soft and flexible as well as the ankle sleeve. the boost foam is as good as it always is. the best thing though is that it seems Adidas have finally gone with a more neutral colour-way. very comfortable and stable shoe. ... read more

Overall great shoe for long or short trail runs

I've been choosing between this and response trail boost and decided to go after raven since it offers a bit more protection. i've ran in this shoe quite a bit on terrain that includes gravel, mud, rocks, softer soil downhills in woods full of leafs, roots and stones and also snow in the winter. I can say that outsole is great. The grip it offers is fenomenal, sort of speedcross 3 like but I think a bit better on flat rocks. It ran a bit narrow at the beggining in upper mid foot where laces are , so i started out with thinner socks and after a few runs it got better. It still feels a bit narrow but not in the way that it wouldn't be comfortable. I didn't have any running experience in boost cushioned shoes before since I only tried them on in a shop. Since raven doesn't have rockplate I was a bit worried that the shoe would be to soft and I would feel every tiny rock and root which can sure cause pain sometimes. I can gladly say that this is not the case, yes you can feel when you step on sharper stones or roots especialy under midfoot, but it feels really cushioned, no pain or anything. boost is great and if there happens to be some tarmac between your trail runs, you wont have any problems. I wish shoe would be a tinny bit more lighter and stable, but I have the same complaints with almost every trail shoe so I think this wouldn't be a problem for most of runners. Great shoe, would definitely buy again. ... read more

Perfect Trail Runner!

Congratulations Adidas, you have got this one bang on! These shoes are fantastic for a trail runner or even for any type of runner. I have previously used Salomon Speedcross 3's and have found them rigid and uncomfortable. I have been waiting for Adidas to create an Energy Boost Trail runner version and with these, i find them perfect and there were no such problems as with the Salomon's. I have used them for several weeks now and they are the most comfortable trail runners i have ever used. A wide base gives stability for my particularly wide and spade-like feet. The Energy Boost midsole and heel makes everything fantastically comfortable when on the flat, but is not wasted on the forefoot and leaves it free to be rigid for uphill climbs. The lacing system is unique and fits my giant spades in perfectly superb fashion! It combines a seatbelt material lacing system with the upper to wrap around my feet very comfortably which only enhances the feeling of stability and control. The upper is firm enough to keep your feet secure, but flexible enough to allow for suitable movement that running on trails requires. I cannot rave about these shoes enough! I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone looking to try something new. If you are looking for a new trail runner with good looks and stunning comfort, look no further! ... read more

Most Comfy shoes I owned

I didn't see too many reviews on these RavenBoost before I decided to purchase them but I gave them a try anyways. Fit great and very comfy out the box compare to my other running shoes. Use them everyday to run 5k on dirt and gravel roads. Shoes are durable and had no issue at all. ... read more

Great shoe for rough tracks and trails

I started 'road' running again after a 35 year break and approaching 60 yrs. My local trails are on and off canal towpaths and my first choice of shoe was a regular Boost trainer. However, I found then too light in the sole for the rough stone paths and the mesh upper too easily soaked by frequent muddy puddles. I turned to the TR Boost, which has a more substantial sole and upper and with better water protection. I am already delighted with this shoe having completed several runs of 8-10 miles and always returning with dry, abrasion free feet. ... read more

Poor grip, dry conditions only

I love adidas running shoes they fit my feet perfectly. However the kanadia 7 is very disappointing. Good points : lightweight fast drying, good support, very comfortable. Bad points. extremely poor grip in wet conditions. The UK is wet nearly all year. Lost count how many times Ive slipped and fell wearing these shoes. The previous kanadia had far more grip, had a more aggressive tread and more grip for wet conditions especially on the heel section. Kanadia for dry trails only. ... read more

Great shoes - perfect for my mixed trail/road routes

I bought these for the regular Park Run course and mixed trails that I do. The grip is excellent, as is the fit (although a little fiddly to get on), the shoes are light and are responsive enough to handle both off-road and road sections. Both slippery wet mud and smooth tarmac are handled well. I agree that a full waterproof lining would complete these shoes, and I hope Adidas will add this for future models (even if it increases weight). Overall I am very happy with these and really look forward to my off-road routes now! ... read more

Great looking product ruined by a weird heel

I got half a size larger which fitted well. The trainers look great and feel well made. The Continental sole feels rugged and grippy. Unfortunately the heel at the back sits low and there's a bulge on the inside which makes them feel like your socks have fallen down and bunched up. I tried different socks but the pressing feeling on my heel and back of my foot made them unwearable. Sadly had to return them. ... read more

Good shoes

I really like these shoes. For reference I'm getting on a bit, I've been running a couple of years and run 5-10k at around 7:15 to 8:30 min/mile. I've also got wide feet and struggle to get shoes that fit properly, so these are a wide fit. I tried these because I was buying new road shoes and the shop had a two for on deal. I've used Brooks Adreneline GTX and Adidas Supernova Riot and Adidas trail shoes which seem more of a general purpose design than these. I tried a few diferent trail shoes in the shop, these felt a bit weird as they feel a bit like a big soft rubber sock. You could feel the tread through sole running on the shop floor. I nearly didn't buy them but I took a punt as I like the grip the continental sole gives on hard wet surfaces. Running in them I'm hardly aware I've got shoes on, and I don't slip about like I would in the brooks. So far I've used them on grass, tarmac gravel and mud but I don't know what they would be like on a rough rocky surface. On my local parkruns winter course (tarmac, gravel and mud) I'm getting my best times in these shoes. So, to summarise, I'm not an expert runner but I find these shoes very comfy and I seem to run faster in them than my other trail shoes. ... read more

Excellent Trail Shoe

I run some very rugged trails with lots of mud, rocks, gravel, streams, steep grades etc. and these are very comfortable, stable and have excellent traction. I had no problem with mud or gravel sticking to the tread etc. Best trail shoes I've ever had in a few decades of serious trail running. I also love the other boost shoes for road running...but those don't hold up very well on rugged trails. ... read more

Surprised Me

Did not think I would like the lacing system/tongue but am a big fan. 10 miler out of box very comfortable at Red Rocks outside of Vegas. 25K race the next a.m. and they protected from sharp rocks a nd offered good traction in desert and on boulders. Athletic fit on my narrow feet made downhill in canyons easy. I have worn Adidas Energy Boost and Boston Boost for last 2 marathons so the comfort did not surprise me. I wanted to go traditional trail manuf like Salomon, Hoka but they could not match comfort and fit. Go 1/2 size up like the Boost road shoes. ... read more

A 1.0 version, needs some work

These are designed to be trail shoes, built with an upper reminiscent of the Ultra boosts- the back of the upper is the same soft wrap-around neoprene. Like the Ultra Boosts, the fit is miles out. Try them in a shop before buying, as you may be shocked. They fit very short and wide, compared to most other brands. I had to order online, as finding UK 12.5 is all but impossible on the high street. The uppers are a mixed blessing. First the bad news: The lacing system is extremely primitive, and the lack of any proper heel counter means that the uppers feel very unstructured. Because of this lack of structure, you feel like you need to pull the laces tight, to avoid heel slide. This causes terrible hotspots on top. Counter-intuitively, you need to lace them in a fairly relaxed manner. A better lacing system would be nice. The straps on the upper are obviously meant to stabilise, brace, and anchor the lacing- that's fine. However, the additional diagonal elastic straps serve no purpose, poking out loose, adding weight to an already heavy shoe. They increase the tendency of the shoe to snag on bushes and sticks on forested trails. I'm very tempted to cut them off, as they're counter-productive. The toe-cap is clearly a little stiff, to give a little protection to the toes- that's fine, but it's a little low. It could benefit from a little more height to give you more "wiggle room" (literally). That said, once you get the lacing system to behave, they feel reasonably comfy on the feet, and don't seem to blister the heels, despite the primitive lacing system and lack of a proper heel counter. The neoprene wrap-around design is fantastic. The weight of the shoes is a little much. They're really not racers by any stretch of the imagination. You may well notice the effect of the weight in your times- though they don't feel uncomfortably heavy due to the springy boost foam. The good news: When the lacing settles down, they cradle the foot nicely, with only a few niggles. The sole units are very plush. Boost continues to deliver- providing level of shock absorption while remaining lively rather than feeling like dead flesh. This really is the best aspect of the shoes, and thoroughly enjoyable. You can really enjoy a relaxed trail run in comfort. The outsoles are very sturdy indeed. The Continental rubber is grippy on all sorts of surfaces, and even tolerable on tarmac (though obviously you'll wear the tread down faster). You can be reasonably confident that they won't let you down. The only niggle with the outsoles is that they're not at all good at shedding mud. Even relatively dry, hard-packed mud tends to clog the treads, and is very hard to remove. This might not be a problem for the trails of Colorado, but in the UK, mud is an ever-constant trail reality for most people! Sometimes you will feel a lack of grip. and have to stop to stamp some of the mud out/poke it out with a stick. The outsole design is a choice. There are shoes that shed mud well, but that requires a very aggressive design with larger nubs, with slightly raked edges- which might give less grip on surfaces like rock. Do be aware of the tradeoff, though. These aren't the best shoes for a muddy run. See the included photo of how badly the soles clog- even on relatively firm and dry forest trails. Summary: So.. am I glad I bought these shoes? Yes, with reservations They're comfy and sturdy, and provide a sure-footed feel in many conditions. Boost foam delivers the goods as ever- giving a genuinely pleasurable ride. Are there things that I'd change? Of course.. getting rid of that stupid diagonal strap, improving the lacing system, possibly looking at shaving some weight off what is a very heavy shoe- those are the big ones. These are quite a bold design, and there was a lack of good reviews when I bought them, so I was taking a chance. However, I do look forward to pulling them on for those slower off-road runs. They're enjoyable to use- can't really ask for more than that. I look forward to a tweaked second version of these, fingers crossed! ... read more

The shoe is a beast on the trails

When I first threw the shoe on it was a little tight on my forefoot but I have fat feet so I wasn't too worried about it. Once I was on the trails I didn't notice the width at all. I took the Raven out to the Appalachian Trail in North Georgia and the shoes performed beautifully! Even during a heavy rainstorm I never doubted my foot placement. There was one section of the trail where I had to cross a large, open, expense of off-camber rock and the shoe didn't slip at all. Definitely worth a go in this bad boy. I don't know if anyone reading this has run in other boosted shoes but it almost felt like having the cushion of an Ultra Boost in the heel and the responsiveness of the Boston Boost in the forefoot... sorry I'm kind of a running geek. ... read more

Great model

Got these kicks on Monday and it will be my go to shoe for the next couple of months. First of all it seems like adidas is undersellling their own product : the shoe has boost in the heel but also targeted ( my terminology so excuse me) boost in the forefoot. When I asked (very helpful chap via chat hr only confirmed the heel boost). The boost feels bit less bouncy than pure boost 2(that is ky second pair) but looks like in exchange of stability The fit is great and snugly, nicely wraps around the foot. Also feels well ventilated in the toe area Got the shoes for daily commutes ( cycling) and regular trips with kids and the shoes seem to be a good choice ... read more
