I still have my old pair of these sandals, my 3rd pair actually since the 90's, and a brand new pair thats very different that I'm trying to get used to. The old version is softer, has more support and has white cotton material underneath the strap. The old version is far superior, I keep trying to transition to my new pair but keep going back to my old ratty pair. Once my old pair bites the dust I will be shopping for a new sandal as this new version Adidas has put out has zero merit except for the classic look and that's not enough to overcome the lack of comfort this new version has. This is someone else's review. I feel the same. Pl bring back..the old quality. Feet hurt with this new kind.
Extremely squeaky. Like walking around in clown shoes. Annoyed all my co-workers. I like the look of these shoes, but the squeakiness is ridiculous. The squeak comes from the tongue rubbing against the interior of the shoe. My solution was to use sandpaper to roughen up the tongue of the shoes. This dampened squeakiness to almost regular sneaker levels It's kind of unacceptable of Adidas to ship out these shoes with such a blaring design flaw. They need to change the material used in these shoes, to something less squeaky.
I purchased custom slides. I love the soft suede and puny hair however the band that goes onto of the foot needs to be smaller to fit a woman's foot or more padded to prevent slipping and uncomfortable walking. If I were able to, I would return them since it's not practical to walk in. I would like to order more but will probably be a full size down.
I have worn Adidas Sambas for more than 25 years. They were the only sneaker shoe I have worn. I have been a loyal Adidas Samba owner and have had more than 40 pairs of them over the years. WHAT HAPPENED ADIDAS? Your 12.5 size is smaller than they used to be, while the 13's are still too big. The leather is hard and looks like plastic! I bought the last several pairs online because local stores no longer carry 12.5. With my purchase several months ago, I initially thought it was a mistake, so I literally bought another pair but they are still too small as well. I still have old pairs to compare them with and the new ones are smaller. SIZE MATTERS - SO DO CUSTOMERS What happened Adidas?
They fit a hair smaller than my other Sambas, but I fear they will crease if I go 1/2 a size up. Thin socks make them work. The leather tongue makes a squeak sound when I walk as it rubs against the inside.
Love the look and feel of these shoes. The real leather adds such a nice texture and solidity, and the shape is gorgeous. The only thing I could possibly want improvement on is reinforcement of the heel part with the logo, and the toe, as they can be flimsy. Overall, amazing product, and I will be a regular customer!
The older models used to have a thicker fabric beneath the foot strap that prevented any rubbing/irritation but the news ones fail to have this cushioning. I guess the old adage of "they don't make them like they used to" still applies.
I'm a size 6.5 with more so narrow-ish feet. These slippers, although very cute and comfy run pretty big. I found it disappointing they only come in full sizes (4, 5, 6, etc.) and no half sizes. I went with a size 7 because of what other wrote in their reviews (running too small, etc) and I had to return them for a 6 which fits well but it's still pretty wide. Hope this helps!
The ones with the Large Tongue (indoor ones) will not squeak as much since the inner lining is more of a felt fabric. The ones without the large tongue have a synthetic lining and synthetic tongue which is causing the squeaking that many are complaining about.
Squeaking? Get some sandpaper and rough up the leather where the tongue touches the inner eyestay - no more squeak! I'm only putting 4/5 stars because it's a crime ADIDAS doesn't allow you to get the longer, ribbed CLASSIC Samba tongue on these custom kicks. These are my 17th pair of Sambas in the past 10 years. I love them all, but the CLASSIC Sambas have always been my favorite ... if only we could get some without that gross nasty raw gum sole
For nearly a decade I have used sambas as underway shoes. They are comfortable to wear. Their soles grip well on deck plates, even in machinery spaces. From the bilge to the treadmill, from hiking deer mt in Ketchikan AK to running around Manama Bahrain, these shoes have demonstrated versatility. The only thing I would prefer would be an American or Canadian made shoe.
These trainers are overpriced synthetic garbage. Just what part of the upper, besides the suede pieces, are "full grain leather upper?" I have had these for about 2 weeks and the creases at the toes have started to bubble where the creasing has formed. Mistakenly thinking that if I oiled them with leather oil, the "leather" would be hydrated and bubbling would stop, I applied several applications of neatsfoot oil - the same leather oil that I use to soften and waterproof my $350 Redwing work boots. Only, it seems the oil just evaporates rather than absorbs. Upon closer examination of the shoe upper materials, I am not sure there actually is any leather in the uppers at all, save for the suede pieces at the toes. The fact that Adidas is charging more for a product that is clearly inferior in materials and its ability to last than its Samba Classic predecessor, is deplorable. Will not be buying these again.
I can get cheap clothes but I never get cheap shoes because foot comfort is essential to a runner who has back pain like me. I love the look of these shoes, they are classic. But they also feel good on my feet after standing four hours in front of a classroom. So good all the way. Good surprise.
I ordered my normal size 10-1/2 and they were too tight. I wore them several days and they did not loosen up. They eye so tough i could feel one of the dimples of the sole through the insole, which became all I could feel and caused shooting pain up my leg after two days wear. U sent them back and got an 11. They are way bigger than the 10-1/2 where my tour went all the way to the end. My toe ends at the beginning of the suede with an inch of room left. But, they are pretty comfortable and they look great with everything. I just wish they were a little looser for the proper size. All my other athletic shoes are 10-1/2, even other Adidas, and fit perfectly, but these were too small. Yes, they squeak. Haven't tried to fix it yet. One of the tongues folds up and hits my toes causing irritation. I think it is because the 11s are slightly too big. Hoping it well eventually break in. Wish they were all leather. The vinyl causes all of the problems: squeak, uncomfortable tongue, and too sweaty in bare feet.
aesthetically the slide looks good. For the record my foot has always fit well in Adidas sneakers do to the narrow nature of my foot. For some reason these slides are rubbing the outside of my pinky toes on both sides so much that my toes almost feel bruised when I put on normal sneakers. I am a little disappointed since I have been wanting a pair of these since I was a kid (now 35).
They are Samba's, enough said there. One complaint though, they tend to squeak. This is a very common complaint I have seen. Makes it very awkward when you are walking thru a quiet place, like a library or working office.
I bought a pair of the same size to replace my old pair that were the most comfortable I've owned. There were several changes in strap design I noted. The embossing and the type of fabric. When I put them on the straps cut into the tops of my toes so they were unwearable. Incredibly disappointed.
there s something very wrong with this pair. they re very hard and small . I know my size but this time my right foot has suffered greatly. the shoe is very hard inside and kinda small cuz it hurts my toe. I stop using it for good I just cant wear it like this.
I ordered these looking for a comfortable and easy-going shoe. I'm a true size 6, ordered them in 6, and they appear to be a half-size too big. Of course there's not half size options. Also, the strap is sharp and I know with reoccurring wear and use that I will get blisters. Returning these, unfortunately.
I just bought these sandals and they are too wide and don't look like the picture. The inside of the strap is black but in the picture it's gray. The reason I wanted these sandals was because my sister has a pair which are from a while ago then I got the shoes in the mail and was disappointed to see that they changed the sandals and they now are made from a cheap material and are slightly uncomfortable.
I love these slides and have had multiple pair. When my last pair wore out, I order a new pair, like always. But you changed them! They used to have a nice soft inner lining portion of the upper strap. Now it's rigid and feels cheap. I'm sure there's a reason for the change, but it's not a good change. Please bring the old version back!
I've worn Sambas, almost exclusively, for 15 years. I currently own 9 pairs. The current revision is built incredibly cheaply, compared to the older ones. The only advantage over the previous revision is they've fixed the issue it had where the fabric of the rear inner would ware away, leaving a plastic piece that'd dig into your foot. However, it was still made better than this current one. The one previous to that one had none of these problems. I can only assume cost-cutting has lead to this great shoe becoming a shadow of its former self. Please bring back the Samba K. That was the finest of all Sambas I own. I think the "Samba Classic" is still available. It's better than this one, but I haven't bought a pair in a while, so don't take my word for it.
Been wearing Sambas for many many years and my fav version was the K which had the softest kangaroo leather. My last pair finally fell apart and I was torn and bought the cheeper classics but they were never as nice as the K version. I took a chance and customized a pair of the Mi Sambas and I could not be happier. They fit as expected and the quality is way better than the regular Sambas or Samba classics.
if you wear these slides the strap is just about the most uncomfortable it gets i highly recommend if you get these to only wear them for short periods of time and unless they have changed the straps since them a year ago you cannot wear these without getting enormous blisters on the tops of your toes until it is practically impossible to walk even without them on because the cut into the tops of your toes so badly
I Always Wanted These Shoes And I Got Them. And Always Wanted A Shoe That Had A Lot Of Traction On Them Cause I Am A Goalkeeper And Previous Shoes I Wore Kept Sliping Of The Ground When I Try To Dive For The Ball And It, s Annoying. Really Love Them, These Shoes Really Give The Reflexes And The Agility To Block A Shot Cause Of It, s Amazing Traction, Also Very Comfortable And And Stays Firm On Any Surface, Except On Wet Pavement Lol, But Overall, These Shoes Are Awsome.
