Just the thing for an enjoyable jog. Short enough so doesn't bother me moving my arms. Roomy enough that I can move freely. Also the colour is great for visibility when out and about. Just perfect. Am thrilled with it.
For years I complained that running companies let the guys have all of the cool colors and made all of the girls pastel only colors so I bought the mens stuff...even the shoes. I'm over that with this jacket. Now I think that men and women look good in most colors.. This one in particular is stunning. Sorry guys, if you can't find a women's that fits.
I got this jacket at a store a few months ago because I thought it would be the perfect jacket for running. In my opinion, I was right. This jacket is warmer than it looks. I have worn it with only a t-shirt underneath in 40 degrees and I was fine. It was raining really hard one day and I did not have an umbrella with me at school, and my friend asked me if it was waterproof. There was only one way to find out. It is definitely waterproof. I also have the Essentials Pants and they are sufficient rain pants. The first jacket I got was the red one. As I said I got it in the store so I saw it in person and tried it on in person. I am 5'4 (still growing) and this jacket size S fit perfectly except for a couple of inches in the sleeves. PLEASE NOTE that the red jacket is much darker than the website shows it. All in all this is a good jacket for running and you can use it as a rain jacket. I loved my first one so much that I wore it out and I ordered a black one. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A COMFORTABLE ATHLETIC JACKET
I wasn't too excited to see a pink and green jacket, but said I'd buy it regardless because it is part of the Boston Marathon experience. I have many other jackets and I like the idea of the traditional blue and yellow. But walking around this weekend it was so cool to see all of the other jackets, and you could tell the year by the colors. In the end, I like the jacket because it's my badge of honor for finishing. Congrats to all of the other runners! Wear the pink and green with your head held high!
Okay, first-- The color depicted on the web for blue is not the blue you will receive. It's a darker, richer blue, not a light powder almost pastel as depicted. I'm indifferent over this, so no big deal. Now the important stuff. Quality is classical excellent as expected for this jacket, however I was expecting a little more taper and tailoring overall and found the size dimensions to be off by a large margin. I would highly recommend ordering a size down if your very athletic (broad shoulders, small waist). If you're slim overall (beanpole model types) then go two sizes down. I'm happy with my purchase, but will be ordering a size down and returning my current jacket.
I have every jacket for the last 4 years, and while last year's was my favorite because I love purple, this one is a close second! I love the colors, and especially the pink!! This year I did go with the size small while last year I got XS. Not sure if this year's is running smaller?? Overall great jacket, but agree with other reviews it could use thumb holes!
I had talked myself into being ok with the pink accent colors. But then I got the jacket. I'm not ok with it. I'm not ok with the fact that the entire jacket is a different "lighter" color scheme. The equipment green that Adidas is standing behind is actually bright, bright neon turquoise that is specific to the women's jacket. That's not too apparent in the description nor in any press. It reminds me of my childhood when all things girl were pink and turquoise. I'm not a child anymore. I'm a grown person who dedicated the past 4 months of my life to this thing that we all love so much to do. That time in preparation for the race was neither lighter nor brighter than my male counterparts. It just was. Well, as a grown person I can also decide to return a jacket that screams "FEMALE runner" and not just runner. Shipping it back to Adidas.
I bought this when it came out and it is sitting there waiting until after the marathon, but I still hate the color as much now as when I first saw it. I saw a woman wearing this already (!) (?) in the NYC half marathon and all I could think was "that is such a dumb looking jacket". Way too fluffy and my burly running partner in no way should be forced into pastels in the men's version! I hate this jacket.
This product was shipped and arrived quick. Design looks cool and the size is perfect. Comfortable to wear, not too thin or thick. Lightweight material but stays in form where it doesn't wrinkle up that easily. Happy with this purchase!
I really like this jacket! The blue color is super vibrant and I like graphic on the back. The jacket is lightweight but keeps you a little warm if it's a bit cool out. I haven't used this jacket for running but mainly for going out and I found that it pairs well with anything. I ordered a size M and it fits well around my arms and torso area. Another great thing I like about the jacket is that it's a bit cropped instead of long making it more feminine.
love the color!!!! I felt the medium fits a little too perfect but the large is too long. I will probably keep the large. If the women's was a little looser in the back/chest area , it would be perfect. I like things loose. I also like that the mens & womens stripe is a different color.
Since I am running Boston this year for the first time, I wanted to swag up with all the gear. I bought shorts, a sports bra, the training shirt, and a race shirt. The only thing left was the jacket. I waited forever before buying the jacket and only did so with a coupon code. It arrived and I was pleased that the pink accent was not antacid pink but was hot pink. That being said, I still abhor pink and don't understand why manufacturers always thing women want pink on everything. The jacket fit well (true to size) and was great quality. I loved the mandarin collar and the embroidery. What I could not get over was THE COLOR. The color is HORRENDOUS. I understand Adidas wanted to go retro and harken back to the good ol' days but seriously?? I had the jacket hanging in my bedroom for 2 weeks trying to will myself to allow the colors to grow on me. It just was not happening. It had to go back. It was just too ugly. I will just have to get another jacket from another manufacturer and run hard so I can BQ again to get a better jacket. Anything would be better than this because the colors can't possibly get any worse (ok, it could get a little worse -- they could make the entire jacket pink, but they would never do that to the men!).
Adidas, why? Yes, I'm a girl but pastel and pink? I want the same colors the boys get. Every time. I bought my jacket 2013, 2014, and 2015... But 2016 is where I have to draw the line. Goodness, bring back the primary colors!
I ordered a size small woman's anthem jacket (I always wear a small) Jacket is snug and really not a good fit overall. A little tight in the shoulders and upper arms. And not flattering by any means. I will re-order this in a medium. Only because it a Boston Marathon jacket. Otherwise I sure wouldn't waste any money on this. On a scale of 1-10 this jacket rates a solid 2. The color gets rated a solid 1 and the zipper worked so that also gets a 1. FYI I have the jackets from 2003, 2004 and 2006 and they fit perfect. LOVED them all. What were you thinking?
Needed a jacket as my running is getting a bit more serious now and the temp is dropping. Looked around several places but the styles were an issue or the price. Found this jacket and it ticks all the boxes. Looks good, fits nice and best of all the price. Plus with the discount code they offer by signing up to the Adidas newsletter just made it impossible to say no.
I have to admit I was not a huge fan of the pink stripes for the women's jacket. That is the only reason I gave the jacket "4 stars." I personally think the men's and women's jackets should be the same. I would prefer the black stripes but opted to get the females jacket for a better fit. Although, once I received the jacket in person, the pink with the teal does not look that bad. It will grow on me. Otherwise, the quality of the jacket is great and it is a BAA jacket so I will wear it proudly!! (After crossing that finish line of course!)
The black-white contrast is great looking and the jacket is lightweight. It'll stop wind, but not necessarily maintain warmth (as expected) so layer if need be. My only concern is the woven material is very flimsy; if a tear would happen, I fear the jacket may and will fall apart quickly.
Great jacket if your out running during the dark winter nights. The fit is quite large so if your normally a medium ie 38 chest you might be better off with the small size. Overall very happy with this jacket and would certainly recommend it.
I had a previous jacket where the zip broke so bought this one. I'm not a big fan of running jackets but really like this one. The fit is good and does the job perfectly. My only concern is that if you like to run with your phone with you and you have an iPhone 6 then the phone might not fit in the pocket. Otherwise a fantastic jacket and I would highly recommend it
I love this jacket and I'm super pumped about qualifying. I was disappointed at first that it was not going to be blue and yellow, but the colours have grown on me and the jacket looks a vibrant green-blue, similar to kayak blue at Old Navy, but more green. The pink stripes are a bright almost neon medium shade. The jacket is definitely "loud and proud." I ordered size Small, which fits through the shoulders and the arm length is correct, but I have very long arms. I would describe this jacket as a loose fit. Unlike the model in the picture who appears to have a fitted waist, this jacket is big and hangs straight down from the sides. Only when I lift up my arms does it look a little fitted. It would probably look fitted on someone over 5'6. From the side, it balloons out, more extremely than on the model. If you have big shoulders like I do, you will have to stay with size Small and accept the baggy loose look, with the elasticized hip hem riding up spontaneously (and I have 35 inch hips, so why does it?). I would have liked to have more panels to make this a more fitted jacket to show my waist, especially given the steep price tag. I wore this jacket running today in 2C over a long sleeve wool shirt, and found the jacket was warm enough, but the collar and back wetted out from my sweat. Finally the collar is too big for my neck by 2 inches, letting in some air. Overall, a good looking jacket, but please re-design the women's version to make the back more than one panel to fit our bodies instead of a giant pocket of air all around.
This item fits slim. I usually fit Adidas small with some room leftover, including some slim fit items (e.g. Daybreaker hoodies.) Despite this being listed regular fit it is on the slim side--I can't really fit anything more than a tshirt underneath. For me this is fine, as I bought it as a lightweight rain jacket for warmer weather. For reference I'm 5'10"/177cm and 170lbs/77kg with a 38" chest and a lean top. I suppose in running-specific gear Adidas feels comfortable making the items conform to sizing more suitable to leaner frames.
It's bad enough the main color is this light aqua blue-green, adidas had to add pink to be 100% certain women are aware of the fact they are women and must advertize it by wearing something pink everywhere they go. Couldn't they just stick with the same color scheme as for the men, like in the previous years? I will make sure to buy the men's version, thank you very much.
