This jacket will easily become part of me, owned it less than a week & already madly in love with it! Amazing print, great colours & the unternal breathable fabric is a huge bonus. I never want to take it off & I've had so many compliments on it!
This is a great jacket. The fleece is super soft and the length is perfect. The quality is apparent by the use of good materials and stitching. The only thing is if you're even a bit swolle the chest and shoulders can be a bit tight. I'm 6' and the Medium length is perfect but the chest and shoulders are a bit snug. If you're wanting to use this jacket with other layers though the snugness can be a good thing.
The jacket run small, the zipper is made of poor quality, and the finger holes in the sleeves are rather week. Otherwise the jacket is very light weight and readable and ultimately usable but not perfect, not even close.
i never expected me, a 15 year old girl, to buy a kids jacket, but i love it. i'm usually a women small or medium and an xl in this jacket is perfect. it's a little bit loose (which i love) and i think i'll be wearing this jacket a lot. it works with so many outfits and was really pleased with the quality!
Bought this about 2 wks ago and so far very happy. Shields from the wind well, repelled a pretty heavy downpour, fits well and looks good. Reflective pattern is a nice touch. Could do with a couple of pockets perhaps.
This is a great keepsake if you've run the marathon and identifies you as "part of the club" for future marathons. As far as its functionality as an actual running jacket; I would say you are better served going with something else. I normally go with a medium for Adidas products but this was a little small. Order a size up.
Love this track jacket and purchased the matching leggings from lady footlocker as they were sold out here & in stores. As a set I received so many compliments. I love this track suit! The pictures do not due this print justice. Better in person, so bomb!
I usually wear a medium, but this fit was too tight in the shoulders and upper arms, and ok everywhere else. I will try a large. Color looks better in person than online. I'm okay with turquoise and pink...don't know what everyone else's problem with the pink is. It's only two pink stripes...geez!
I had to buy this twice. I usually prefer my jackets not to be loose so I bought it in a XS/6 (usually wear 8) but found it still sat loose on me. Bought it in a 2XS/4 and it was then perfect (my personal opinion). The length was really good too as I'm only 5"1 and it wasn't too long. Quality is great and the print looks really unique. I definitely recommend this.
Love this jacket. It is well-made and the quality is outstanding -- equally great for running on a long run or running errands. The fit is very good. Oftentimes things are just made a touch too big for me (I am 5'0" and about 110 pounds, got an XS), but this fits great. The details (stitching details, stretchy and soft material at the end of the sleeves, etc.) are very nice and really make the jacket. As far as people not liking the colors...sorry, you didn't have to buy the jacket if you didn't like it. I personally think the colors are great and there is just enough pink to give it a feminine touch.
What a let down! I've been working toward the day that I would cross the finish line of the Boston Marathon since 1980... and figured if I ever did I would treat myself to an official jacket. But, seriously, hospital green?!? I thought the Boston Marathon colors were blue and gold. Such a disappointment. ADIDAS = All Day I Dream About Some jacket other than this one.
I purchased this jacket because I wanted something to remember the 2016 Boston Marathon. I worked hard to get to Boston! I would have preferred the traditional Blue/Yellow. It's what the Boston Marathon is recognized by. The fit of the jacket is great! I agree that the traditional color jacket should be available for purchase and if you want to add another color themed jacket that would be fine. I liked the teal but not crazy about the pink stripes. I think black or grey would have been a better choice. Not all females like pink!JJ
For years I complained that running companies let the guys have all of the cool colors and made all of the girls pastel only colors so I bought the mens stuff...even the shoes. I'm over that with this jacket. Now I think that men and women look good in most colors.. This one in particular is stunning. Sorry guys, if you can't find a women's that fits.
Love the fit, the styling and quality, including the awesome embroidery. The jacket is an icon for anyone lucky enough to get a spot in America's iconic race. I've run the Boston Marathon the last few years, and talking with other runners over the course of the marathon weekend, the general consensus is --- "great jacket, but what's up with the colors?" I even heard a group of runners saying that they wouldn't even be buying one this year because they're not blue and yellow (like 2013 and a few years before). Don't change a thing with how you make the jacket, but Please consider a classic blue/yellow back into the rotation! You would really please alot of "regulars" that love the race and wear the jacket with pride.
I wasn't too excited to see a pink and green jacket, but said I'd buy it regardless because it is part of the Boston Marathon experience. I have many other jackets and I like the idea of the traditional blue and yellow. But walking around this weekend it was so cool to see all of the other jackets, and you could tell the year by the colors. In the end, I like the jacket because it's my badge of honor for finishing. Congrats to all of the other runners! Wear the pink and green with your head held high!
Okay, first-- The color depicted on the web for blue is not the blue you will receive. It's a darker, richer blue, not a light powder almost pastel as depicted. I'm indifferent over this, so no big deal. Now the important stuff. Quality is classical excellent as expected for this jacket, however I was expecting a little more taper and tailoring overall and found the size dimensions to be off by a large margin. I would highly recommend ordering a size down if your very athletic (broad shoulders, small waist). If you're slim overall (beanpole model types) then go two sizes down. I'm happy with my purchase, but will be ordering a size down and returning my current jacket.
I have every jacket for the last 4 years, and while last year's was my favorite because I love purple, this one is a close second! I love the colors, and especially the pink!! This year I did go with the size small while last year I got XS. Not sure if this year's is running smaller?? Overall great jacket, but agree with other reviews it could use thumb holes!
I did not like that Adidas opted for pink on the woman's jacket so I -- a 5'4", 116lb woman -- bought the men's small and had it tailored. I shortened and narrowed the arms and tapered the body. The jacket is long, coming down to the top of my thighs and covering my butt. It couldn't be shortened due to pocket placement/the drawcord at the bottom, but I don't mind it long. I think buying and tailoring the jacket is a good option for any woman not interested in the pink. The attached picture is the tailored version.
I had talked myself into being ok with the pink accent colors. But then I got the jacket. I'm not ok with it. I'm not ok with the fact that the entire jacket is a different "lighter" color scheme. The equipment green that Adidas is standing behind is actually bright, bright neon turquoise that is specific to the women's jacket. That's not too apparent in the description nor in any press. It reminds me of my childhood when all things girl were pink and turquoise. I'm not a child anymore. I'm a grown person who dedicated the past 4 months of my life to this thing that we all love so much to do. That time in preparation for the race was neither lighter nor brighter than my male counterparts. It just was. Well, as a grown person I can also decide to return a jacket that screams "FEMALE runner" and not just runner. Shipping it back to Adidas.
I ordered an M size. It fits me well. But, the manufacture inspection is in question. There are loose threads in a few places, say in around the zipper line. With the Adidas brand name on it, and a $110 price tag, I thought it should be made more carefully.
I bought this when it came out and it is sitting there waiting until after the marathon, but I still hate the color as much now as when I first saw it. I saw a woman wearing this already (!) (?) in the NYC half marathon and all I could think was "that is such a dumb looking jacket". Way too fluffy and my burly running partner in no way should be forced into pastels in the men's version! I hate this jacket.
love the color!!!! I felt the medium fits a little too perfect but the large is too long. I will probably keep the large. If the women's was a little looser in the back/chest area , it would be perfect. I like things loose. I also like that the mens & womens stripe is a different color.
Since I am running Boston this year for the first time, I wanted to swag up with all the gear. I bought shorts, a sports bra, the training shirt, and a race shirt. The only thing left was the jacket. I waited forever before buying the jacket and only did so with a coupon code. It arrived and I was pleased that the pink accent was not antacid pink but was hot pink. That being said, I still abhor pink and don't understand why manufacturers always thing women want pink on everything. The jacket fit well (true to size) and was great quality. I loved the mandarin collar and the embroidery. What I could not get over was THE COLOR. The color is HORRENDOUS. I understand Adidas wanted to go retro and harken back to the good ol' days but seriously?? I had the jacket hanging in my bedroom for 2 weeks trying to will myself to allow the colors to grow on me. It just was not happening. It had to go back. It was just too ugly. I will just have to get another jacket from another manufacturer and run hard so I can BQ again to get a better jacket. Anything would be better than this because the colors can't possibly get any worse (ok, it could get a little worse -- they could make the entire jacket pink, but they would never do that to the men!).
I appreciate that the jackets have sewn designs now (old ones were printed on and didn't last as long) but I agree with those saying offer blue and yellow every year plus a special color for the year. That way in years like this when the colors are awful there is another option. I have an orange/black from 2012 that I'm happy with so will be buying the supernova jacket this year. http://m.adidas.com/us/boston-marathon-supernova-storm-jacket/AO3841.html
Adidas, why? Yes, I'm a girl but pastel and pink? I want the same colors the boys get. Every time. I bought my jacket 2013, 2014, and 2015... But 2016 is where I have to draw the line. Goodness, bring back the primary colors!
