These shoes offer a sort of compromise: they offer the bouncy ride of Boost foam in the forefoot with a supportive EVA-like foam midsole through the heel. Boost foam is essentially like wearing a synthetic running track on your foot--bouncy, soft. The problem with Boost, however, is that is can amplify natural tendencies in your gate: if you overpronate or underpronate it'll tend to give way in that direction; the offset of this is the incredibly soft springy ride you get. I say it's a fine trade-off if you can keep your mechanics in check. As mentioned, these shoes also offer a much more supportive non-boost foam through the arch and heel, and so provide a half-Boost shoe for people who want more support but also the Boost... well, boost. That said, these shoes are for running: going back to front not side to side. The heel is high enough, and the boost foam so supple, that you have a chance of rolling an ankle if you are trying to do any kind of intense lateral movement in them. The bottom of the sole is a gel-y but tough rubber to keep your footing stable even if the Boost foam condenses during soft turns. The upper fits like a sock as the product description and others mention. It happens to fit me so well that the laces are essentially cosmetic but this is just chance in my case and being able to cinch the fit with the laces to get the perfect tension is there for those who need it. The booty is a two ply knit, air flows through it nicely. A great runner for intermediate-or-better (or naturally neutral) runners or as an unsurpassable casual shoe for anybody. Also, I think they look great. Tasteful tech. (n.b. I wear anywhere from a 9-10US in Adidas, almost exclusively a 9.5US in runners, as I like them to be suitably roomy for foot splay and mild swelling. I have a fairly though not extremely wide foot. These fit me well as a 9.5US, just as my other Adidas running shoes.)
Fantastic shoe which solved long lasting achilles tendinitis issues. Perfect if you are looking for a soft and non-structured shoe to use on grass or paths. Water resistance is satisfactory and I have had no issue with water ingress.
First time I bought shoes online that are that amazing. I was rather sceptical about them but this shoes are really great. They have enough space in toebox, even for my quite wide feet, after 3 runs, great, you don't really feel them on your feet, for me that's the thing. Just Great!
I am not an athletic person, I do try to keep fit. These are my first Boost series shoes and I am never going back to anything else. The fit is fantastic, the grip on the road perfect, the feedback you get on your sole is surprising.
I've taken these shoes with me on a 3-week vacation and have been using them running and city walking. So far they've performed perfectly. Great, true fit, very comfortable, and they really do keep my feet nice and cool. Thoroughly enjoying them after a couple weeks of heavy use.
I think these are great running trainers for winter, or even just to move around. The sole is incredibly soft and you feel like you are walking on wool. I have worn them in this relatively warm weather and it might keep you feet a bit too warm but for winter time they are perfect.
When I first received the shoes, I was a bit disappointed because I wasn't sure if the material quality looks as good as the picture. I kept them still because I really needed a new pair of shoes. THEY RUN SMALL - I have a pair of adidas that were sz8 and they are big on me so I ordered 7.5 for this pair but they are really small!!! I had to make a return and purchased half size bigger. Even sz8 was a bit tight at the beginning but after just wearing them 3 times, they are now perfect! They look SO GOOD with my outfits and they are very comfortable - I especially like that they do not have laces that makes stretching really easy and nice!!! The more I wear them, I love them more!!!
I ran 15 mile long run with this shoes as soon as it was delivered. Despite the lack of time to get used to, or feeling comfortable about it, the shoes fit perfectly. I really liked it particularly its light and nimble structure. I strongly recommend this product.
I already owned a pair of Adios Boost flats but needed a similar shoe that I could use regularly during my speed workouts. I just ordered the exact same size as my Adios and they fit like a glove. With about 20km on them so far I can say that they are very pleasant to use on the road and yes, they are very fast. If you already own another pair in the boost family, you will not be disappointed with the Bostons. They are fast, yet you can still feel supported.
I'm a long term fan of the Boston line, perfect fit for my feet, and used them for road and trail. Initially I was pleased with the upgrade to the Boost midsole - shoes felt fast and lighter than the previous version and still a great fit. I've used them on runs of 5 miles to 100. The downside for me compared to the previous version is the much reduced durability of the sole unit. I have 2 pairs, one of which has 300 miles on it but feels more like my Boston 3s or 4s at 500 miles. Except for the first 100 miles they don't seem to have the firm heel and that snap off the road that i like so much on the pre-Boost Boston and Adios2. Ideally i'd like the Boost cushioning just in the fore/mid foot.
I was very hesitant about these shoes, but once they were on my feet I knew I'd love them, they're extremely comfy and look awesome! (at least in gray color that is actually kind of greeninsh metalic gray). Fit is true to size and width is average, which is perfect for my slim feet, I've used them for gym workouts mostly but I want to to try them on my morning walk/runs, but even if you just want a beautiful and comfortable pair of sneakers to walk around town these are a great buy!
these are my second pair of boosts. i had to return the previous pair (terrex boost) as they were just too tight for me. i read other reviews that mentioned this, so when i ordered these, i specified a 0.5 size bigger than i normally would. as it turns out, these are actually a perfect fit. the inside has the softest inner lining, making these trainers quite comfortable when lounging around. the space age silver exterior is a little more adventurous than any other trainers i've bought in a while but now i'm quite used to them. a dark charcoal colour-way would be quite nice. i was curious to see how the boost would feel in a run. the cushioning is great, it really does flex and rebound, but the sound of the shoe hitting the tarmac mid-strike is a little louder than I had hoped. running on the fore-foot is quite fun. you really do feel the speed in an instant. I will try out some terrex boost with that big lugged grippy sole next.
I've had trouble getting the right size in this shoe, you have to order a size that will fit your foot like a sock. First I ordered an 7.5 but was too big so I returned it. Then I ordered a 7 and 6.5, the 7 was still just a little big in the toe and width. The 6.5 for some reason was bigger than the 7 and was closer to a 7.5 or an 8. So I have now returned those and ordered another 6.5 hoping I don't get another defective shoe in this size. Overall the shoe is comfortable and will be even better when I get the right size. It should be noted this is a common issue when I buy shoes which is why I buy from Adidas since it is free shipping and returns so I can order multiple sizes and not worry about shipping costs. The mall and shoe stores rarely have my size shoe in stock or have very limited selection.
This is a great top - is a tight fitting style but the thin stretchy material makes it tight comfortable rather than tight uncomfortable. The very thin material makes it easy to move around in and does feel heavy and hot while working out. Would recommend!
Recently purchased and worn this top for the 1st time...I absolutely have no problems with the top. It was very comfy, light and stretchy...Oh I find the material was absorbent too! Highly recommended to everyone :)
I have fairly narrow feet and purchased these at size 10 based on my experience with the Boston 4s 9.5 being just too small on my left foot. In other brands, size 9.5 fits best. Unfortunately, my feet felt like they were losing circulation as soon as I put these on, as they are very narrow. I was wearing thin socks. The construction, lightness, airyness, and boost mid soles were all things I was looking for, so I was sad to have to return them. I'm now interested in the adios boost, and will try them on to see if they fit a little wider. I'm also getting more used to lower heel drops, and would have happily used the Boston 5s for my recovery runs and longer runs, had they not been too narrow.
really love these ones. will enjoy wearing these once the weather improves as they will be very cooling. extremely comfortable with the sock liner type aspect, not much there for support though, but just for running perfect, minimal material/padding intruding and rubbing against heel. will be ordering another pair soon.
I've used mine for a while now and its pretty good. Material quality is very good, no itching or rubbing so far. I am 5.8" and size small fit is decent, but I wish it to be just a bit shorter in sleeve and hem length.
I have started to use these trainers as I am planning a run from Reading to Maidenhead I needed something relatively light and comfortable. I have been running on these now for almost two weeks and find them easy going I would certainly recommend.
I was looking for a loose fitting, long (bum length) top to wear over leggins. This didn't quite match, I went for the XL as I wanted it baggy not fitted and thought a bigger size may be a bit longer it's not. Prob get away with it but does sit just at top of bum. Im 5ft 7 size 14 ish Lovely colour and quality material very light. I will still wear this but will make sure my leggings aren't see through before hand
love the colour and it fits perfectly - good contouring and length. Have had this shirt for 2 months and use it and wash it it at least once a week in the machine and hang to dry. Unfortunately, the fabric at the front is starting to pill.
well, I really, really, I like 'em. What else is there to say.the top is so light you feel like you are running bare foot. the bottom is elastic and very supportive. I got them as a replacement for the same I already have, although the one's I have are still fine after 6 months of haevy use. The thing with adidas is that they change the shapes and widths of their products so often, so much so that by the time you need replacements you realise that your type is discontinued. I will definitelly get a second resrve pair if they ever go on sale. Super shoes!
I own both the supernova glide 6, and the adios boost 1. So was stoked to finally complete the neutral set with the boston 5. I chose to go with a half-size up from my size for the adios and glide, and I have to say I'm happy I did. This shoe does run slightly small. It is also quite narrow. I have a reasonably narrow foot however, and the ride on this shoe is incredible (i wanted something that sat pretty much right in between the glide and adios in terms of cushioning and responsiveness). I've been using it for everything from a 4km time trial to a 90 min trail run (though the grip isn't that suitable for anything other than the driest of trails), and I am loving the boston 5! BUT! What have you done with this toe-box Adidas? It's swede, and as such makes little folds inwards instead of sitting nice and uniformly, which can press a little uncomfortably into your big toes. I don't notice it while running, and hopefully the material will soften as I continue to break the shoes in, but please Adidas, I love this shoe. Take the end of the toe-box from the glide, stick it on future models, and you could be on to a winner.
Great trainers very airy and light but difficult to get on as the opening is like a sock rather than a shoe with a tongue. I wear a size 11/46 usually, had to send mine back and ended up with a 12.5 and still tough to get on.. Once on they are super comfy.
I had to buy a half size larger like the Glide Boost I'm wearing now. The Glide Boost is more cushioned but the Boston Boost is much lighter. I'm training for a full marathon so the light weight would be an asset. The Boston fit like the Glide, more comfortable and cushioned than another major brand I've switched from. Also Adidas seems to have narrower toe box which is ok for me since I have narrow feet.
