I have an iPhone 5 and just bought a Speed Cell Bluetooth off Adidas website. Express postage was as advertised, ordered Saturday night, arrived Tuesday morning. It connected first go with miCoach multi sport app. None of the connection problems I've read about. Can't wait to get first game on it tomorrow night

Would be outstanding if the instructions were clearer. Adidas needs to do a better job of explaining how to get it to work. Didn't seem to have any problems locating the micoach with bluetooth or syncing it with my iPhone 5S..but it kept saying "no valid workouts" after I tested it. It wasn't until I contacted customer support I was told about the 80/60 rule....you need to move 80 meters within 60 seconds in order for it to start tracking, so just walking around your living room, or going out to the end of the block won't work. Nor will riding on a stationary bike, it only tracks the sports that it is programmed for. Since then though, I've tracked a soccer game, a soccer practice and a jog with no problems. Working great now!!

Not sure if I'm the only one or not but mine just doesn't work...... I've tried everything..... It won't sync to my phone...... So don't buy this product ....

This is one of the few BTLE foot pods available. I haven't had a problem with it. I use the Wahoo Fitness app with the miCoach Speed Cell along with the Wahoo heart rate monitor during my runs. Wahoo Fitness app allows a user to upload data to 10 different sites to track your data and monitor your progress. I personally use the Nike+ site because it graphs your run along with your heart rate. Makes it easy to compare progress. No need for the proprietary Nike+ sensor (even though it is only $21) when a BTLE option is out there.
The only negative thing about this is the price but is it worth it for the versatility.

This works as advertised. And in case you were wondering, it is compatible with Nokia Windows Phones. I use it every day with my Lumia 1020 running WP8.1. Great addition to my collection.

Got this in April for my daughter to use together with the iOS multi-sport app and micoach website for soccer training and games.
I'll start with the pro's because for the first month or so ... we were very pleased.
The speedcell itself is very simple for her as she wears micoach compatible soccer cleats. The one minor usability item to note is that she has to activate the speedcell by moving her shoe around a bit so that it can pair and sync with her ipod when she gets home.
The app is simple enough. Shows some of the data. Too bad they don't make the app for the ipad as the charts would be much easier to view on the larger screen. And editing the session with her own data (field location, score, etc ...) would be easier on the ipad too.
The data available on the website is great. Summary info is interesting, but the most useful information for her is the running 5 minute breakdown of her stats that shows how she was training/playing through the session/game.
Then things started going south ...
First, some data from her ipod would not show up on the website. The support facilities on the website aren't great for "odd" problems. I ended up getting around this by removing and reinstalling the app. But by then I had lost some of her session and game data. A bit annoying.
There was some sort of problem with the website that kept creating logon problems with her userid. and the only way to get to it was to constantly reset the password. Really annoying to the point where I stopped going to the website waiting for it get fixed.
But now, the speedcell won't sync with her ipod at all. I've tried all the common suggestions found on the website with no success. So now I'm losing more session/game data while I wait for their support to figure this out or allow me to get it replaced under warranty.
Not a great experience. And too expensive for something that's so much trouble and stops working after a few months. This is why I would not recommend this to others.

At start when I got it, couldn't fault it and it was interesting looking back at how fast and how far I had run in the football match on a graph format. Then on I could set targets ready for the next game. Then when I realised it needed a new battery I put in a brand new one out of a packet, the same voltage and Same code as the previous battery and now it just doesn't work. When un pairing it then pairing it again, the app picks it up! Just played a game now, gone to sync my data and turns out it won't sync saying that the speed cell is low battery, and that's not the first time it's happened when trying to replace the battery. Absolutely gutted

Hard to comment on this product as it will only work with iPhones from the 4S onwards and the iPod 5th gen.
This info is buried in a blog post on their micoach community page and not here on the store.
It is sold as Bluetooth Smart Read but that is not the whole story, as my iPad 3rd gen is Bluetooth Smart but it will not work with it.
Disappointing attention to detail, and probably evidence that the store front don't really understand the products they are selling.
Even the packaging is misleading as it has written upon it "Made for Bluetooth Smart Ready iPhones/iPods/iPads and Android devices."

This is the second unit I have owned, I used to have the unit with the dongle working with iPhone 4 which was fine but once the first battery had to be replaced it never worked again, I sent it back and Adidas kindly replaced it foc but the same happened again after that a
Battery ran out. I then bought the new Bluetooth version using it with iPhone 5, again I used it for about 6 months twice weekly for football, brilliant, I had to replace the battery last week but after that it won't sync with my iPhone app, so I have no idea what is wrong with it. Any help would be most appreciated.
