I bought a pair of these in February, & I've hardly taken them off since. They've become my "thing" among my friends. I purchased the classic white & black, & despite the gold details, they go great with everything. They were extremely comfortable from the first time I put them on. They didn't require any breaking in. The fit was great, other than that I had to lace up the very top hole & I have to retie them throughout the day to keep my heel from slipping out when I walk. This is probably because I wear a women's 8.5/9 & this is a men's shoe, however. They breathe well & my feet don't get too hot wearing them. Really comfortable to walk around in all day. I'm looking forward to buying more in the future!
Great looks and comfort, I'm a us 12.5 to 13 but purchased a size 11.5 so yeah they run big. It's like a second sock on, while the sole is a little hard at first but once warn in its all good ! If you are some one who likes the new adidas yeezy but can afford one then is is second best. If you have not seen the tubular soles then your in for a treat they represent a bike tube which is really unique and why I love them.the new look of the shoe is much better then the older model its much more lightweight which is crazy because the last model was light as well these new primeknits are crazy ,amazing, little big, simple, comfortable and great for summer !
First off, this is a great retro release. It's very accurate to the original and it's made with high quality leather. However, there's one thing about the US release that disappointed me. The style pictured in the Stan Smith Returns ads and marketing is actually the UK/international "vintage" release, which is even closer to the original than this modified US version. It also used higher quality materials. I'm a bit disappointed that adidas advertised one model in the US, then released something completely different. Other than that, they are classic and comfortable.
Been a loyal adidas fan since I was in 10 years old (25 now), over that span I've owned 4 pairs of Superstars, one of which being the original Superstar I's, (now defunct. why is that?). Bought another pair and I guess they rebranded the 2's as "Superstar Foundations." They fit a bit bigger than my last pair, the laces ARE thinner, and where are the lace locks?! adidas, WHY do you keep on trying to reinvent the circle? Why mess with the classics? If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and the SUPERSTAR 2's didn't even need any repair, nor did the 1's! Please bring back the ORIGINAL 1's, the 2's, and the 2G's. Keep your Originals original!
I noticed with Adidas pants that you should always go a size smaller than what you are. i bought these in a medium with hopes that they would fit me like they do the guy in the picture. but unfortunately they do not. i'm about 5'7-5'8 with a 31-32 waist size and i sent them back in for a small and tried them on an they fit just like the picture. i have bought other Adidas pants and have noticed the same as well. but overall they are nice sweats and i would recommend purchasing.
There comes a time in each life when you realize that trendy means classic. That's what we have in this shoe both in style and utility. The shoe looks great from every angle. Even judging against my previous Addidas shoes, this one is the most comfortable for every day wear. The sole grips well and shields you from all those pebbles or other inconsistencies you may encounter on the street or in the mall. The arch is supportive and there is very little movement of the shoe while on your foot. The fit and trim are excellent. Complaint - only one, and it's terribly minor. The tongue could be a little wider at the ankle, but at least the tongue is of a thickness that is appropriate, unlike others I have worn.
These trainers are the best I have ever purchased. Not only do they fit perfectly, they are so comfortable and versatile. I primarily wear them to the gym and bootcamps as I know they will have the performance I need to succeed. The styling of them is second to none and when a photo is taken with a flash they come alive as shown in the picture. I would recommend these trainers to anyone, as I already have to my friends who have also purchased some after seeing mine. You won't regret the purchase.
I was lucky enough to purchase the OTHER Stan Smith floating around out there, the classic one with the stitched tongue and higher-quality materials all the way around. And I will say that it is an amazing shoe, classic style, incredibly comfortable, and simply beautiful on foot. If you can get your hands on the stitched-tongue style as opposed to the padded tongue you will not be disappointed. In a side-by-side comparison, the padded-tongue style available in the US just feels cheaper and a lower quality.
I remember the young salesman in the Wilshire store so may pairs ago looking at me sincerely and exclaiming: "You know, these aren't good for anything anymore!" I guess he was right, they aren't for running, or sprinting, fencing, soccer, or even competitive tennis anymore. They are extremely comfortable, true to size, great for walking around and are acceptable casual shoes where other sports shoes might be frowned on. Stan Smiths have classic style and comfort. I guess that still makes them good for something.
Generally not a fan of the adidas shell-toe superstar range but I am always looking for something a little different - and these fit the bill. I already own a full-canvas all-white and recently all-black "festival" adidas superstar shoe - and now I can add these beautiful tan, aged leather with grey cotton accents to the family. Great to see adidas breathing some fresh life into their classics. Tan leather is always a great choice as the more you wear it - the cracks, the fading, even scratches - the better it looks. I especially appreciate that the shell-toe front is brown too, which makes for a cleaner tonal silhouette, meaning you can dress the shoe up or down without looking like you're obviously wearing sneakers - less white also means you and everyone else won't see any dirt it will inevitably accumulate from your regular wear and tear. I fluctuate between 10 / 10.5 / 11 sizes depending on the model of the shoe [I'm most commonly a 10.5] and the 11 fits snugly. The superstar footprint is quite conservative so I'd recommend you stay true to size or half-size up as the thickness of the exterior leather and the thickness of the sole make the shoe generally inflexible, so you'll have very little give after hours of wearing them. Highly recommend this shoe if you have the chance to get your hands on it. Worthy addition to any casual or smart-casual wardrobe - and will be an ideal end of summer / autumn staple you can come back to year on year.
It took me a month to actually become owner to a pair of these shoes... It was literally sold out everywhere, and even while I was looking, I had my doubts. I'm speaking sensibly here - no gushing about how 'perfect' these are, but really. When they came, they looked exactly like the photos, and it seems to be great quality as well. I'm a U.S. Women's 7 generally, and size 6 in these fit fine - a bit roomy, but that's how I like it and it can be easily fixed with thick socks etc. Overall, I'm very pleased with the project. Plus the shipping was very quick.
Love the all black versions of these classic trainer. Totally understated design with all black soul which i like as I'm not a jazzy logo type of person so this style with the three stripes being just perforated holes are perfect and work with a smart outfit aswell as just casual wear. And the best thing. They last for years. My only gripe is after buying one pair of asides footwear previously, learnt that all sizes are a whole one size two small. So normally I'd be 10.5 so bought 11.5 size and they are perfect. You may want to keep that in mind....
Copped these in the SoHo store, didnt think they were out yet. Normally wear size 11s but i had to go a half size down to 10.5 as the ankle was a bit too loose for my tastes. Comfy shoe, huge step from the standard Tubulars which i also loved.
I love these shoes, these would be my third pair -- so I felt confident buying online. I looked at my old pair and purchased the sizing accordingly. But what arrived was the mens sizing. I thought these shoes were sized unisex and I ordered them while in the women's section. A bit confusing and annoying but I will try again once my refund comes through.
I've seen a few people write that a lot of Adidas seem narrow. That's not it. You have to unlace their shoes and lace them back up. The difference will amaze you. Adidas may have made a couple of fashion tweaks to it but this is the same superstar that people have loved. I wish they left the logo on the tongue white but the shoe still looks good. It's still a very comfortable shoe.
