Having used Barricade 6s and 7s during the last couple of years I was curious to try the new 8s. My first impression was not very good, I thought they were stiff and slightly uncomfortable at first but I decided to wear them on court. After about 45 minutes of play they started to feel good and during the second hour of play it was evident that the 8 is a truly unique tennis shoe that combines stability, comfort and a very light and speedy feel in a way that I haven't experienced with previous incarnations of this Barricade line or with any other tennis for that matter. They do run a little smaller in size than the 7s which happens to be perfect for me but worth bearing in mind when ordering.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JimboNotLike8s Why change a good thing?
I've had barricades 2, 3, 4, 6teams, and now the 8's.
They've all been great except for these latest ones.
I got blisters on the inside heel of both feet and this was after weeks of wearing them in walking etc.
There's a vertical join just in front of the "stripes" that digs into your feet.
And also the last top hole for laces- that spot digs in as the tongue isn't big enough to protect your foot.
Adidas - why did you make a drastic change to a previously perfect product, did you do no testing?
I tried 2 different pairs before eventually getting a refund.
Will now go back to try the 7's or maybe Feathers, hopefully they'll re release the 5's in Australia...

Rated 4 out of 5 by bpo1902 Great shoes
I have wider than average feet, and these shoes fit me perfect. I've only worn them twice, almost didn't need any time to break into them. One thing I notice, I can't wear ankle socks with these shoes, since it keeps sliding down. Other than that, great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Andy838 uncomfortable
I've used the Adidas Barricade tennis shoes for years, using every version, the Barricade 8.0 is the worst for comfort. I've ended up buying 2 pairs of these shoes, the first were too small as it seams the sizing is very slightly different to the previous version. The second pair fit but I get blisters around my ankles and find they cut in. I have to wear plasters to stop this happening. The problem is the tongue is not providing any protection from the laces or top end of the shoe where it should so then they cut into your feet. Besides this the shoe is great. The Barricade 7.0 was an awesome shoe and the most comfortable tennis shoe I've had. Hopefully Adidas can fix this with the next version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TennisGavin Outstanding durability shoe but with drawbacks.....
I've owned them all - Asics Gel Res 5s, Solution Speeds, Nike Air Max Cages, Babolat Propulse etc, so what follows is a concise review based on my experiences with this shoe (I have two pairs) compared with with many other tennis shoes
+ outstanding sole durability (the best out there in my opinion)
+ very good stability
+ feel like they will last a long time
+ wide range of colours
- size is slightly tight, I had to go up 0.5 size.
- break in period (about 3 weeks) is painful with blisters etc. After that it's fine.
- tongue is too thin
- not as comfortable and not as much sole cushioning as with other tennis shoes, particularly the AirMax Cage, GR5 etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Irwin "Jake" GREAT Tennis Shoe!
In July 2013, I used the Barricade 3 (all blue color) playing in the World Maccabiah Games that are held in Israel only once every 4 years. The shoe was a little heavy, but I got used to it quickly, since it provided really good traction on the red clay courts of the tournament.
After the Games, I bought the Adidas Barricade 8 tennis shoe in white; this shoe wasn't available before I played in the Games in Israel. The Barricade 8 is simply a great clay court shoe with the herringbone sole providing excellent traction. I like this shoe for 4 more reasons:
1. It is lighter weight than the blue Barricade 3 clay court shoe that also has a herringbone pattern sole.
2. It fits extremely well -- the toe seems slightly wider than the Barricade 3; the 8 is very easy to put on and is VERY comfortable
3. I love the all white color -- looks great. Not a fan of the other psychedelic colors of this shoe -- love the white -- always a classic.
4. The Barricade 8 does equally as well on hard court, but has extremely good traction on clay.
I put my own orthotic insoles in all my tennis shoes, but only use Adidas tennis shoes, which I find to be the most comfortable tennis shoe out there, with the right feel of a toe box and overall fit. Wish Adidas would make more of an arch in their insole pads, but most other tennis shoe manufacturers don't do that either, hence the reason for putting in my own.
The Barricade 8 is a GREAT tennis shoe -- the right weight (not too heavy at all#, the right fit, excellent support without being restrictive #some of the earlier Barricades I find to be too stiff, heavier and restrictive) -- Great job, Adidas -- with the 8, you made a FANTASTIC tennis shoe! Thanks...

Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnnyTexas1735 Exactly what I wanted
I have been a long time fan of Adidas tennis shoes. When I came across the custom 8s I could not resist creating my own. The barricade 7s were my previous shoe and the transition to 8s have been no problem. Just pick your normal shoe size and they will fit just fine. Like all barricades, the 8s have a little weight to them but they give me a feel of stability that I don't get from light weight shoes. I am 26 and have been playing competitively and recreationally for about 15 years. These shoes are solid and customizable. Exactly what I was looking for. Good job Adidas!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TennisWarrior Finally a Barricade that rivals the Barricade 2
I have worn barricades since the 1st version but standardized on the Barricade II for last 10 years( 50+ pairs worn). I kept trying the latest models of the barricade but could not move to them because they were just not as comfortable and stable as the Barricade IIs. I have found a winner. The Barricade 8 matches the comfort and stability of the Barricade II and offers the newest technology from the Adidas brand. I have worn them every day for the last month during practice and tournaments and they have withstood the durability and comfort test with aplomb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mackem Sizing issues, but good show
Really good shoe....but be careful re UK sizing. I am a UK size 9 in everything...shoes, boots, trainers etc. For this shoe after much messing about I got a pair that fit perfectly.....but are a UK 10.5.
