What’s your favourite spot/location to be active?
There are many places all over the world I have been so far. My favourite Spots in the Alps are Silvapark Galtür and I also like many places in Switzerland. Abroad I am currently motivated for the Himalaya and Norway.
How do you prepare for a project/contest (info/training/nutrition)?
For many years I have been able to climb whenever I want. So I don’t follow a training plan, instead I go climbing as much as possible and follow my motivation. Most of the time I “train” on the project to get the specific power for the boulder problem. Motivation and fun are the basic principles I have to solve a hard project. My daily nutrition can be anything. A well balanced mix is best for me. I prefer fresh and healthy food from the market.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
I won climber of the year 2003 ( Climbing Magazine ), otherwise New Base Line, Viva La Evolution, Memento, Anam Cara , The Unknown, The laziness of comfort, Sitting in a corner with depression, Bravirabi, El Salvador.
What are your next goals (related to your sport)?
Right now I am working on a hard problem in Switzerland. As soon as the snow is gone, I have a big project in the Italian Alps. Then preparation begins for this year’s Himalaya trip.
Who do you look up to and who motivates you?
I look up to the sun, the moon or to the stars! An unclimbed piece of rock motivates me.
