For the last 15 years Stian has lived and skied in the alpine mecca of Chamonix, France. He skied many of the classic extreme skiing lines of the area in the first few seasons, before he changed his focus to competitive freeskiing and filming. He has filmed with some of the major movie companies like Matchstick Productions, Warren Miller and Wink inc. Stian has also been a major force in the change of Freerideskis and has worked closely with Volkl developing groundbreaking skis like the Volkl Sumo and Kuro.
