Samuel Blenkinsop is an NZL-born DH rider and has been racing since 2001, turning professional in 2006. He burst onto the World Cup circuit as a junior back in 2006 when racing overseas for the first time. His flamboyant riding style, and laid back attitude, made him stand out to team directors and fans alike. His silver medal at the Junior World Championships (despite a major crash in his race run that cost him 9 seconds) meant he was sure to have a big future.

I only do things that I really enjoy, and that’s simply why I race and ride. Even though it’s my job these days, I still have the same feelings about racing my bike as I did when I started out more than 10 years ago. One problem I have is that I get bored easily, so luckily I have a pretty exciting job!
